Quote:this is bad bad bad... you do very wrong... you will be punish very hard... copy your name ten time on a sheet...
800points? are you kidding? is this manipulation?
It took us VIP 3 month to have the points to take them, and it would take 2 month of stipend for others?
2400points at least!!
The cost of a power set is a lot for a costume if you ask me. Maybe 1000? To be fair if you paid to get these you didn't just get the VIP costumes. You also got other stuff.
On the other hand, does it suck for the people that thought this would be exclusive and spent literally hundreds of dollars to get them now? Sure does. But I bet the fact that they could make a pretty penny off of these AGAIN overlooks that small inconvenience. -
On the flip side...
Stop greed. People want everything and can't be content with what they have...
Moving on from playing devils advocate, if they have a alternate means of getting tier 9 armor it should be on the market and cost much more than any other regular costume set. Its special, its VIP and if you want it you should have to fork out some cash like a lot of other people did to get access to it. I say 800 points for the whole set at minimum. -
Here we go...
Please leave this as is and don't screw up the game. Leave stuff alone and keep everything the way it is. Don't let the whiners screw up yet another aspect of the game. I don't want ppms. Keep them store bought or remove them altogether. -

As long as we get the freem font:

Quote:Fair enough, but for me if it makes it fun to play I don't really care about all of that. And being able to kill stuff faster did exactly that. Back on subject, until I hear a mass death cry from staff tankers or try one myself, I find it a bit hard to believe its all that horrible. I mean, nothing can be as boring as energy melee on tanks IMO.Not to sound dull, but...
I don't rely on Incarnate powers to make a toon "live." If it isn't performing at 50, it won't perform at 50+3, imo.
And as others have stated, if you want a damage dealer go brute. Tanks aren't designed to lay waste to mobs with ease no matter what you were able to make other builds do. They hold aggro while dealing moderate damage. Not to say I don't think tanks need some love, but that's a whole different beast... -
Question, have you dipped into incarnates yet? Maybe musculature + reactive will make it worth playing? I know that brought my ice/ice tank back to life.

I was kind of surprised at the lack of tip/secret videos on youtube for CoH so I decided to make a series:
(Youtube) City of Heroes - Tips & Tricks #1 - Craft in any AE
(Youtube) City of Heroes - Tips & Tricks #2 - Respec Tips
Do you have any so called "secrets" or "tips" that others may not know? If so post them here and spread the knowledge. If anything I can get some material for new videos -
As long as they don't touch the current values and just add something I'm all for it.
As far as a "bland" inherent goes, I don't mind if they are boring as long as they are useful. -
A power pool would be fantastic, but a quick easy option with a price tag behind it is much more likely to get implemented me thinks.
-
Simple idea. Make a new purchasable travel power, same run and jump animation as sprint with the same values of ninja and beast run.
I love ninja run and while it fits my staff toon perfectly, I can't say the same about my ice/ice tank in a power suit. I'd love for him to have a travel power to go to besides the pools and not look silly while using them... -

Quote:What are you talking about when you say "outside the current tiers"? I was talking about your idea. And your idea is worse than putting a price tag on it since it pretty much gives them out for free on the tier system as a first pick. If this was how they set it from the beginning fine, but since so many people already paid for these it wouldn't be smart. And if you look at the tier system as a whole, it seems they try to make the better stuff higher up... go figure. To have some of the best stuff first wouldn't make very much sense. While I'm also against the idea of making these available outside the current tiers, these reasons are among the most invalid arguments against it. You paid something and got it first. Finding out someone else paid something less than you did you get it much later than you did isn't a betrayal. It's a price drop and nothing more.
Oh, and its a price drop and nothing more you say? Me, I had to pay about $70 to unlock tier 9. That is a $55 price cut. A friend paid about $200 just to access one set of celestial armor. That is a $185 price drop. Someone new just has to sub to get the same thing? That's pretty significant price cut for us isn't it?
From the amount of people I see in game with celestial that are only 1, 2 and 3 year vets I think it seems rather successful. And that's what it boil down to. Its proven people will pay insane amount of money for this stuff. As long as it keeps doing that I don't see anything changing soon. Not to mention the fact that most of your points were brought up in beta by people that loathed the idea of making costume parts tier 9 (ask techbot and myself), but it went up as is anyway. -
/unsigned for a few reasons:
1. I played the game for several years along with plenty of points I paid out of pocket to earn those costumes and I'm sure there were people that dished out literally hundreds to access them. To find out any joe smo can get it half a year later... I could see this ticking off a lot of customers that paid cash to earn these rewards.
2. Not everyone has to have everything. You don't need them in any way shape or form, just want. And if you want them spend money or suck it up. Paragon studios has to make money you know. Techbot Alpha will tell you, people are willing to shell out big bucks for those costume parts. Why give them away for other than the reason "I WANTZ NAOW!"?
2. You feel betrayed by the fact that these costume parts were made so inaccessible? Well think about the people that paid $50/$100/$200+ to get those costumes only to find out they wasted $50/$100/$200+ bucks a year later. I think that betrayal wins hands down. -
You guys rock!
EDIT: 1 minute in and I find a bug. Not a huge bug, but a bug nonetheless. I made a mock up build for my staff stalker using kinetic melee and when I tried to swap it to staff I lost the ability to choose 8 powers. And when I can choose powers, IO's aren't available. -
Just follow the pointers in that thread and you'll have a much better build. Like for example more knockback protection. You'll get tossed around left and right once that weakness is spotted.
EDIT: Didn't notice you're making a fly build. I know nothing about those. Probably don't need kb protection as much, not really sure. Either way you'll find good tips in that thread. -
To be honest, that build is horrible. Check this thread for some help:

I love the recluse helm. I made a costume on my huntsman with it. The statesman helm is nice, but not very statesman like. They seem to go well with other shiny costume parts but clash with stuff like tights due to the color tint.
-
Quote:I'm pretty sure its color tinted. I'm out of the costume creator and it looks the same as pictured above. Its definitely not black. It looks like celestial armor.Seems to me that the green is just part of the environment mapping on the helm rather than a tint. The reflection that is used in the Costume Creator is similar to the middle of Atlas Park, and so it picks up some of the green from the grassy areas. It won't be the same in most zones of the game.
-
Ok, so I go to color the new helmets I got today black and I get this:
Can we please, for the love of all that is good, not tint costume parts anymore. I like it when things match.
Don't get me wrong. I'm grateful for the free stuff, but not being able to color them black is a bummer. I mean, does anyone here like color tint? From what I know people hate it. Why do they keep adding it to costume parts? Is there some reason for it? -
stuff!!!
I have to say I'm a little disappointed that the helmets are tinted. I cant make it black just a nasty green. And the aura seems a bit sloppy but useable. Anyway... FREE STUFF!
EDIT:
The tartarus helm is freaking sweet! It doesn't look like a bucket helm like the pic on the first page.
(note the nasty green color tint)

Quote:Thanks for the heads up.The perks should start appearing on your account sometime after 11am pst. If you're logged in at that time, you may need to log out and log back in.
Because its being granted via a one-time script, however, some people may not see the items until later in the day. -
Quote:No thats BB, but we could have just as easily disturbed people going for nukes.Probably so they don't interrupt meteor people. Or is that Siren's Call?
You know now that I think about it, Warburg is a free for all zone so it would probably work best for something like this. -
RV would be pretty epic but I'm kind of surprised they didn't hold it in bloody bay so more people could participate.
