Just did this (thanks for the tip!) but the code came up as being expired. I didn't do it in-game though, as the website suggested so maybe that was it. I'm going to log in and try it.

Quote:I watched the first episode and it was ok. Don't think I'll be watching any more, maybe if I was 15 instead of 53...The Nine Lives of Chloe King - Tuesday's 9:00p EDT
She's sort of a superhero at least. So far it's Buffy lite. Then again the first season of Buffy was Buffy lite.
Also did someone in Hollywood buy out the teen novel section at B&N for their series ideas? What's next? Maximum Overdrive? Witch and Wizard? Or one of the other countless vampire/werewolf/witch series.
I watched the whole run of Buffy, didn't jump on that particular bandwagon until midway through the first season so maybe I'll check back with this one after a few more episodes to see where it's going. -
The auditions were right across the street from my job yesterday. Had to park in a parking garage as all the meter spots (free on Sundays) were taken. ;(

I still use it, but I'm looking for a way, IF it's even possible, to use it with the new launcher?

Quote:Thanks Father, I was hoping you'd weigh in on this. I read a few posts from the site you linked to when I asked the original question about the 460, and they seemed to indicate that the 460 was the better card, I just wanted a second opinion.Memory isn't as big of a factor as most people think. The major difference between the 768MB and 1GB GTX 460 is the fact the 768MB has only 3/4rds the memory bandwidth of the 1GB version.
As for the HD 5750 Vs the GTX 460 768MB, generally the GTX 460 768MB easily beats out the HD 5770 in multiple game benchmarks.
Thanks again! -
Quote:Thanks for the info, my last 4-5 GPU's have been Nvidia so I'm happy to stick with them.http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...90,2879-7.html
The 460 is probably the better card, it is certainly quite a bit newer than the 5750. If they'd sent you a 5770, then it might be more room for debate.
Also, FWIW, Nvidia's drivers tend to be better. There's still lots of people in here complaining about ATI's terrible drivers. -
Got a decision to make. My XFX 9800GT failed on me so I replaced it with the MSI 460GTX 768MB, not expecting XFX to live up to the lifetime warranty, from all of the horror stories I'd read on the web.
Well they did and sent me a 1GB ATI Radeon HD5750 and one of them's got to go! I've read a few reviews that said that the 460GTX was a better card, but I'd like to get some second opinions, especially now that I see that the 5750 has 1GB of memory.
Loser goes to Ebay!
Thanks -
I don't want to start a new thread about this, but is there any advantage to running the launcher? I only play CoX and I see all of the problems that people are having and I was just wondering...
edit: never mind, just read the FAQ and saw that it's going to be mandatory in the future... -
Quote:Wow thanks everyone for the info, and thanks Father for the link, it's nice to see it on "paper". My monitor runs at 1400X900 20" LCD. At 53 and with bi-focals, I couldn't go too much higher and still be able to see what's going on on the screen!Generally speaking a stock clock GTX 460 768MB (running at 675MHz) is roughly 80% faster in general. Yours is running at 750MHz so it'll be a bit faster still.
You should also be aware it does draw about 50% more power than the 9800GT (160 Vs 105 watts).
Because it has three times the Streaming Processors of the 9800GT, running 20% faster, you should be able to significantly nudge up the UM settings.
And FYI, a review of a slower MSI GTX 460 768MB card running at 728MHz that does include the 9800GT on their chart.
Other components in my system are an AMD X2 5200+ dual-core CPU w/ 4 GB RAM, 2 newer HD's (7200 RPM's) a 160 GB for my system drive, 500 GB for storage, and a 1 TB where I run all of my games from CoX, Steam, etc. Waiting for the prices on the Phenoms to get a little lower before I invest.
Thanks again guys for the info/opinions/charts I feel a lot better about my purchase and can't wait to get it and throw it in the system, and MOST of all get back to playing CoX! -
Just ordered this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127519
(MSI N460GTX Twin Frozr II SOC GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 768MB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card)
to replace the 9800GT that I've had for about 2 years now. I checked here, and while there was a lot of good advice, most of the cards mentioned were out of my price range (even this one was a bit pricey for me, been out of work for a little over a year and a half) so I checked out the TechReport website (love their podcast!) and they recommended this one for the econobox builder so I went with it.
The reason I'm asking for advice/opinions is that I can't find any actual comparisons between it and my 9800gt. I usually check out the GPU comparison charts at tomshardware.com but I couldn't find a chart that would give me a direct comparison.
I'm gonna have a WHOLE lot of time on my hands, can't play CoX until I get the new card, and newegg's good but I probably won't have the card in my hands until next week sometime, tues, maybe wednesday.
Just wanted to know where about this card might fit into the GPU food chain, how much better/faster/etc it would be than the old 9800gt, how it'll do with the Ultra Settings here, etc, etc, etc.
Thanks! -
Quote:I am definitely having the same problem, always losing the mouse. I have a key bound to "mouselook" while I move and that makes the mouse pointer disappear until I release it, and I have NO idea where the mouse pointer is at that point. For about a year now, ever since I got my 22" HD monitor, I've had a recurring problem during play. I lose sight of my mouse pointer. There is no graphics glitch or anything, just a white arrow hiding in plain sight somewhere on the large amount of real estate it can occupy.
For example, in the midst of battle, a teammate grants me a Mystic Fortune buff. I instinctively start moving the mouse to the center of the screen to the requester, so the buff can be allowed. But somehow, all of a sudden the mouse pointer is no longer in my focus. It had been behaving fine, as I instinctively use my power tray to respond to the needs of battle. But now that my concentration has shifted, and needs to focus on the location of the mouse pointer, I cannot find it.
At this point I usually try to move the pointer to an edge of the screen, where there will be less real estate to search. Actually this works, but it feels like I've wasted seconds searching for the darn thing, which never used to get lost. Is anyone else having the same problem?
One thing that helps me out, at least with dialog boxes, is a bind that I use:
Y "dialog_yes$$dialog_answer Accept"
N "dialog_no$$dialog_answer Decline"
that I keep in a text file so I can "/bindloadfile" on any character. If you wanted to just type it in you'd have to use the "/bind" command before the actual commands.
Not much to it, but it helps with all of those little boxes that pop up and request a yes/no response. -
Quote:Me and the wife caught it yesterday. I agree with you whole-heartedly. It was a FUN movie. It's not going to win any awards, but then again I don't think that's what they were shooting for. Was it worth $6 (caught it at a matinee, just made it, show started at 5:55p and the cutoff was 6p) HELL YES! Would I recommend it to others? Well not to my 70 year old mother-in-law no, but to my 25 and 27 year old nephews, again, HELL YES!I just got back from seeing the grindhouse exploitation movie Drive Angry 3D. Is it a bad movie? Yep. Did it entertain the everlovin' hell out of me? Oh, you better believe it!
This is the movie that Tarantino's Deathproof should have been. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2-hiHUh4UQ
We thought about going to see the 3D version but my wife and I both wear glasses and thought that it might be a problem fitting the 3D glasses over our prescription glasses. But that got me to thinking, WHAT is the purpose of watching a movie in 3D? While I was watching the move I saw a lot of stuff that seemed to be flying towards the screen. Is that the attraction? Seeing stuff and feeling like it's coming at you? Do the people, cars, etc seem to be in 3D as well?
Just asking, never been to a 3D movie, and just wondered what it was like. -
Spend more time with the wife and kids, do more work around the house

Now I'm really confused. I've been running at least 1 tf a day for the last week, either Kahn of ITF. Ok so I'm getting these Shards, and I'm going for the Nerve boost. When I look at that part of Incarnate screen, it seems like I've gotta fill up a whole lot of slots, I'm not looking at it now, but it seems to be more than six or so.
So far I've had enough components to fill up 2 of those slots, and I'm thinking that I need to run a lot more TF's and get a whole bunch more shards, but some have posted here that you can fill your Alpha slot with the shards from 1, maybe 2 TF's.
What am I missing here? -
Thanks guys, I *NEVER* saw that convert tab before. Dunno how I missed it, but thanks for pointing it out Red and Techno. And because I like to use binds for just about everything I know that toggle's gonna come in handy as well, so thanks for that Master B!
Happy hunting Heroes, and thanks again! -
Got my first 50 after I9, moved all my others off of Virtue during the last round of server transfers. I'm confused on how to craft the shards I've gotten. Searched here, Paragon Wiki, and even read Zombie Man's guide. All said to craft them, but how do you craft them?
I have the Keystone(?) one that I got from a Kahn TF, and 6 common ones, but clicking on them does nothing, invention table gives me no options, and I can't find the info anywhere.
5.5 years playing and I feel like a noob.
Can someone help me out here?
TIA -
Quote:Ditto. My first 50, about 3 years ago, used one of his costume slots for civvies. I'd usually wear the civvies to a mish, when on a team, and change once the mish started. Depending on whether it's appropriate to the character. I'll usually devote one costume slot to civilian clothes and move around in them, on the way to mishes and change before starting. I also like to costume change emotes, makes it a little more dramatic when the change happens...No, I can't.
Is it going to set my level to 1 while I'm in 'civilian mode' or something?
Why would I give up all my powers to move slower through zones?
What sort of tips are you talking about, anyway? What could I hear in there that I couldn't somewhere else?
Really, use one of the 5 slots you can get, make a civilian outfit, and then use Walk.
I already make a civilian/casual outfit for my characters. -
Thanks everybody for all of the EXCELLENT spoiler alerts. I haven't seen "LET ME IN" but I did see "LET THE RIGHT ONE IN". Had a big impact on me, definitely a great film in my book, and speaking of books, I'll definitely have to read that one.
As far as "LET ME IN" goes, from the bits that I have read here (thankfully, no spoilers) I'm going to see it as well. At first I thought NO WAY, just another lame american remake. I even read somewhere that they shortened the title so it would "appeal to more people, the other was too long.", and I thought "JEEZE, they're making this movie for morons! Title too long...).
But it seems that most folks in here, those that have seen the original AND those that haven't, seem to have positive opinions and that's good enough for me.
Thanks again everyone! -
Quote:I agree with this totally. I tell my children, when you grow up if you want to swear, and you're among friends who don't mind say what you want, but never, EVER swear in public, or around people you don't know.I tend to follow the same basic rule of social ettique I follow in the "real" world:
If I'm speaking in a public channel/place where there even MIGHT be people listening I don't know I automatically assume some of those people are kids who don't need to be exposed to foul or adult-themed langauge. It's not even really safe to assume the "automatic language filter" will save you because you can't control who's using it. Better safe than sorry. The only time I would use "questionable" and/or RP langauge like that is if it's on a channel where I'm reasonably sure no one can "overhear" me who shouldn't and I'm talking to people who I know don't mind beforehand.
Seems like a pretty simple way to handle things to me.
I've spent some time in the military and can curse someone out in 5 languages, but I have the common courtesy not to swear in public or around my children. I can't help it but when I hear someone swearing in public, it instantly changes my opinion of them. I feel that it is a lack of self control, and disrespect towards myself and others within earshot. It's called vulgar for a reason.
Because of the filter, I don't mind so much in game, but what really burns my biscuits are the knuckleheads that intentionally get around the filters by misspelling the words, or putting s p a c e s or d.o.t.s in the words just to make sure that everyone sees it filter or not.
I've actually had to drop out of a few teams because of garbage like this. -
Ditto. Also, initially I didn't like the fact that "our" Olivia seemed to be taken over by the Fauxlivia's memories, but upon reflection I think that she's faking it in order to get closer to Walternate as he would seem to be the key to getting back home.

Quote:First of all "YAY" to the op for (hopefully) getting rid of their virus.Since this thread is about free anti-virus software here's my question; How does Microsoft Security Essentials measure up to other free protection?
2nd, I'm glad you asked this question because I was about to. I use the MSE programs because they got pretty good reviews from the computer magazine review guys. Read in a couple of different mags that it was up there at least with Norton and McAfee.
