And thank you Auroxis.
Though the key to my build is still maintaining the 59% defense to Melee/Ranged/AoE for Incarnates, I was able to put some of that into the attack slots and watched my damage rise pretty nicely.
Here's what I am looking at presently with the build. I am thinking of taking Spiritual Radial, Clarion Radial, Reactive Radial with Void and Warworks. I think...-think-... I get a decent blend of damage, defense and healing with this. Of course I've already been proven wrong on many things as it evolves, lol, which is why I am putting it out here for fine tuning.

So I took that 59% build and finished out the slots to the attacks and the last few powers.
With my defenses reaching- M70/R66/AoE69, am I just overkilling it now? Or since it will hit 59 and have room to play, am I better off to leave the sets at that 59 and put my resources into more damage and what ever other goodies I can scratch out of it?

Thank you as well, Laevateinn.
That SR set up definitely is an advantage over what I had fought with. I doubt if I ever know things well enough not to struggle in End Game character building, but at least I am trying and not -totally- begging anyone to make a build for me. The endurance and recharge difference will just make the character more fun to play as she can be a bit more of an energizer bunny now.
So from this point on, is there any reason to try to max melee/ranged/aoe out? I've always figured to push the defensed to the max, but lately I've been reading some people talking about a good offense equaling defensive tweaks, just for the fact of killing faster and dropping the mob before they can harm you.
I am at a loss as to how to move on... but was thinking of taking Grant Invisibility/Invisibility/Conserve Power/Phase Shift. Use Phase Shift as a panic button to hide behind when I -do- get hit and the near death experiance ensues. The other three just candy to play around with. -
Okay.
With the thought of hitting Incarnate cap uppermost, I retooled my build. I now have hit 59% soft cap on Melee, Ranged and AoE. Was a fast fix... just to show myself I -could- hit the 59%. So... now how to improve it from here? Seems awfully End Heavy.

Ohhhhh!
Talk about an eye opener, thank you Calamity. I've never put it together about the differences in the defenses, but that makes total sense now after having it explained.
And yes, my attacks are underslotted, but that's because I was trying to pick up the Smashing/Lethal boosts from Kinetic... which I now know I have no need of. That was also the reason for picking up Sting of the Wasp so that I had a Single focus attack that I could place another Kinetic set in, which is now a moot point as well.
I would really like to be able to take her into the incarnate stuff, so yes, soft capping at 59% would be important. And yes, I plan to get her T4 Alpha slotted. I don't have a ton of money to dump into her right away, but eventually I hope to be able to buy what I want for the build as I just got my farmer finished and hope to see my bank book expand.
I've always loved the look and feel of the Kat/SR scrapper, and I want to give it a chance again as I try to figure out how to tweak her effectively.
For now though it's back to the drawing board with new eyes... -
Hey all
I'd like to thank you all for this thread. I was specifically looking for anything to help me with my Katana Super-Reflexes as I was having trouble figuring out soft-cap issues. After reading all the posts here, I went to mids and after playing around some I came up with what I feel to be a solid build.
I know just enough to make Mids work, and am really just a casual CoH player, though I get on when I can. The discussions here really helped me in developing the build and looking at things twice, even three times.
Thanks guys and gals.
(fyi, I did post the build under Kat/SR build critique/advice if anyone would care to look. thanks again!) -
Hey all.
I have a 40+ Katana Super-Reflexes scrapper that has a lot of dust on her, and I was about to delete her. But today I was browsing the Scrapper forum and came across A SR discussion that finally helped talk about the soft cap sink in deep. (hopefully)
So... before clicking that -delete- button I decided one last time to play around in Mids and see what I could come up with for her. I am not much of a builder at all, I struggle to figure it out and know what works where, when and how. But I actually feel I didn't do terribly bad today as I was able to soft cap Smashing-Lethal (barely at 45.2%), and Melee-Ranged-AoE.
Anyway, to make a long story short, those of you that are more experienced and have a better grasp of the numbers crunch and game process... I would appreciate your critique and advice on my build as it stands... and the potential of what Incarnate paths I could take to boost her abilities.
Thank you.

Ack!
Apologies to you _UJ_! It was my early morning bleary eyes looking at things today. I had just read up on UK's build as I just got my own SS/Fire brute to 50 and was looking for guides to make her rock.
Sorry, Sorry, Sorry...
*blushes scarlet and exits stage left* -
Because it's exactly the same as the one VK posted on 7.22.2011.
I am not saying it was copied, I've seen way to many people make oh so similar builds. But it -is- exactly the same, never-the-less. -
Quote:I agree with you about playing your toons so you know their capabilities at the higher levels, if you don't know what they can do it makes you less effective individually and as a team member. I -do- however disagree about your comments on stupid questions/newb on end game content.Other option is actually playing the game which i agree most ppl need to do B4 Pl'ing toons to 50 and then not knowing how to play the game at all and being a total newb on end game content and asking stupid questions that would of been learned thru playing the game normally.
You don't know end game until you get a chance to play end game stuff. You could have leveled a character in the standard path from 1 to 50 and still not have a clue about what End Game is. End Game isn't just about the character after all, it's about the events given to the higher levels to play and overcome. If it's your first trip ever to a BAF or Lambda, you're not going to know what goes on and what to do.
I've personally been in two different types of end game groups as I've learned the Incarnate stuff. My first group was a BAF, where the leader took the time to answer my -stupid- questions, allowing me to learn as I went, feel productive, and enjoy the experiance very much.
My second one was a Lambda, which is more difficult that a BAF to start with, and I received absolutely no help or tolerance for not knowing what I was doing, even with it being my FIRST time doing a Lambda. It was an extremely stressfull run and no fun at all.
And FUN, is why we play, after all.
So next time you see a newb or someone asking -stupid- questions, give em a break, okay? Not everyone knows this game inside and out from beginning to End Game. New players do join all the time... I hate to think they come across you as they progress. -
Ummm...
Well, this is really strange.
This is happening to me on only one of my characters. I've tried the other serves and they are fine... I've tried my other characters on Virtue and they are fine.
It's just happening to one character, my newest toon. Any one have any idea what might be causing this? -
This was on the Virtue server, btw. I haven't tried any of the other ones yet, going off to do so now.
-
Hey all.
Is anyone else having mapserving issues this morning? I tried to play at around 4:30 cst, and every five seconds, without stop, I mapserved. I was online for 10 mins watching this continue before I logged out.
Tried again at 6:00 cst and it is still happening.
??? -
Maximum Survivability, minus Stone defense.
That's what I would like to talk about with all you tank lovers out there. I have a stone tanker that can walk through just about solo anything except the -big- end game stuff and live to tell about it. So here I am asking what people think would be a second good build to go after as I explore creating a new tank.
Now, I am not asking for a complete Mids posting with IOs slotted in and all that, I am simply asking for opinions on the Tanker Powersets. (I'll beg a build somewhere after I've tried out a couple recommended combos)
I am of a mind to go with Inv/DM. Now before you all laugh at me and my pick on DM and how little damage it does compared to the other sets, I want to defend myself with the fact that DM offers a spam heal in it with Siphon Life, the only heal offered by any of the Attack powers, correct? I understand many of you will point out that damage output = survivability, but that's not what I am after. I want to be able to let her stand there and take it when that inevitable RL Agro sprouts up and I gotta run to seperate kids that have decided to suddenly rearrainge the living room... by accident of course.
Anyway, just curious what the thought is out there. I've seen some awesome tanks lead the fray in a BAF or Lambda. I'd like a chance to start working my way that direction, and not look lumpy doing it. -
Well.
I got her to level 8 last night, after I changed her to a Inv/Mace. That's no put down on the Will/Mace Archtype, but I wanted her to be able to take an Alpha Strike better than a Will can. So far so good.
I have only had Going Rogue for a couple days but I can say I love the change to the builds. Adding Fitness to the basic set-up has made leveling at the lower levels not as much of a pain as before when managing Stamina issues. I had tried out Mace before in a couple different defense mixes, but they all sucked energy so bad I found it not so enjoyable.
Anyway, the mace is fun. Love the 'bounce' effect it has on NPCs, so fun to watch. I can't wait for the movie! -
In honor of this summers upcoming Thor movie (drool) I was wondering what kinda builds people have come up with that involved the mighty Hammer (mace) here. I've been wanting to start one up, and so I did, Will/Mace. But almost went with Inv/Mace instead as it seems to cover the comic character better, but I wanted to be able to swing my weapon freely and not fight the inevitable energy crash. Thus Will/Mace.
Anyway, would love to see what anyone has come up with and post it here. -
Heya.
I worked my thoughts out on Mids a bit, with really no clear direction after 40. So, kinda just put some stuff down and tried to find a way to tie it all together. Please keep in mind when viewing that I have little experiance building anything to IO.
Heck, I dont even know if Phase Shift is a good choice these days. Guess I am just wanting a top notch build so that when I do finally step out to try PvP again for the first time in two years, at least any failures there won't be from my character set.. just operator induced.. lol.
Here is what I worked up tonight. It was late night, so I am certain there is much to be tweaked and improved upon. I just went with SOs for the moment so that I could post it for opinions.
Thanks in advance for any critique's of this.

Hey all.
Just posted to EvilGeko on his BS/Reg build, asking him if he has any sort of current framework for it. So, thought to post about it here as well as I don't know how well the actual guide pages are viewed anymore.
Was hoping to find something on Broadsword/Regeneration. New. Well.. newer then the i11 version I found which is the newest guide I could come across here. I am not gifted building a IO'd character on my own, so have need of help from the pro's, please.
My Norse Goddess, Vhalla, looks awesome with the set, so I want to try to take her to the next level and keep her active.
Any assistance would be appreciated!
Thanks. -
EvilGeko.
Do you have a current build for your Scrapper with i16 having come and gone? I am a player returning from a long break, and would certainly like to see you update your extremely impressive BS/Reg guide. Knowing little of what all has changed over the past year, I have always envisioned making this powerset and taking her to 50.
That, and being IO illiterate really hampers my ability to figure out this part of the end game stuff. Well, here's hoping there is a possiblity for a new word from an expert on the Archetype.
Cheers! -
Anyone have anything new tp post on a Fire/Fire/Pyre tanker build for i14?
Newest one I have found while browsing the forums is an i9 guide. Not saying that hasn't been nice to view and read and follow, but something a bit more updated with current stats and effects would be awfully nice to see.
Thanks -
Well.
I've had your Quasi-perm builds on file for a bit. First read through them I found very interesting. So, will plug away on my own, and start saving up. Can honestly say I will be looking forward to your updated guide (hopefully) in the near future.
Thanks for the reply, Nericus! -
Was curious if anyone can tell me if this build is still... buildable... with the current game issue? It looks like a blast, and I have been thinking of trying to tackle it.
Kudos to Nericus for the build posting!
--------------------------------------------
POWER UP! Quasi-Perma Power Surge Electric Brutes!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A question that I have seen on the boards, and have been asked by others in the game is: "How can I make my Electric Armor Brute into a Perma-Power Surge Electric Armor Brute?"
The Simple Answer: You can't. Due to the recharge cap and the current recharge time on the power you cannot make Power Surge permanent.
However, you can make your Electric Armor brute into a Quasi-Perma.-Power Surge Brute instead. What does that mean? Simple, you can slot up to the point where you have approximately 60 to 75 seconds of downtime after the crash for the power to finish recharging then you can trigger Power Surge again. [/b] (Downtime varies per build)
Now for the obvious follow up response to this: "But I can get killed during the crash if the enemies are still alive!"
Answer: thats why the builds were designed to have Phase Shift in them, plus by the time you rebuild your character into this build you should have long since obtained Demonic Accolade.
So what do you need to make this transformation-upgrade to your character? You need to be Level 50, you need to have Demonic and Watchman Accolades to help protect you during the power crash, and you need a lot of in game funds since you are going to need to seriously IO your brute.
Next question: "How do I use this brute?" Answer: Set hasten to Autofire (CNTRL + LCLICK) since you will have perma-hasten with these builds, then activate Charged Armor, Static Armor and then Power Surge and start smashing your enemies. Remember you have only 3 minutes until the power crash so watch for your blinking power icon on your display and learn to time it so that by the time the crash occurs you have already phase shifted and hit your demonic accolade. The Watchman Accolade is for if you are facing psionic using enemies when you power crash. Remember though, it's up to you to learn how to watch for the crash and time the triggering of phase shift/demonic to avoid being killed after the power crash if your enemies are not defeated.
PATRON POWERS: Yes the patron powers are in these builds, and for thematic reasons Scirocco's Patron Powers are the ones in the build however you can take the other patron powers as long as you dont take the pet summoning power.
Next Question: Where's Conductive Shield and Grounded?
Answer They were pulled since Power Surge offers protection from everything including Knockback but not Psionic attacks, hence Static Shield is retained for Psi protection.
Next Question: Why Conserve Power when Power Surge offers 100% recovery rate?
Answer: Remember you have perma hasten on these builds and you need hasten constantly running to cut down some of the recharge time on the Power Surge power to keep it Quasi-perma. So Conserve Power is retained and Stamina is 4 slotted with Performance Shifter for both the set bonuses and the +Endurance Proc from that set. Conserve Power u can just activate as need and not have to worry.
Next Question: Why are the Stealth Powers in these builds?
Answer: You need some Luck of the Gambler Global Recharge boosters for these and those are Defense IO. Electric Armor is Resistance not Defense
As always: This is a Guide. This is not a Bible. No One is Forced to use these Builds.
Ok and now it's time for the builds:
Cue the theme from Six Million Dollar Man .."Gentlemen we can rebuild them, we have the technology! We have the capability to unleash deadly new weapons upon the Rogue Isles. Quasi-Perma Power Surge Brutes shall be those weapons! They can be better then they were before ..better .stronger .faster!"
1. Energy Melee/Electric
2. Electric Melee/Electric Armor
3. Fiery Melee/Electric Armor
4. Stone Melee/Electric Armor
5. Super Strength/Electric Armor
6. Dual Blades/Electric Armor
7. Axe Melee/Electric Armor
8. Mace Melee/Electric Armor

Hasten recharge time: 118.9 seconds, duration of power 120 seconds = perma-hasten
Power Surge: Duration of Power 180 seconds (3 minutes)
Normal Recharge time: 1000 seconds
Quasi-Perma recharge time w. perma-hasten running: 245.8 seconds
Downtime after power crash before power surge recharges: 65.8 seconds -
Quote:So a single IO End Red in FF and FS is enough with me placing a End Red in each of my attacks?
If you're using vanilla IOs, just one End Redux in FF and FS should be fine, put the other in your attacks.
Quote:In Parry I'd slot for damage over defense. One successful use of Parry puts you at the defense soft cap for melee.
A question though on Parry and Hover.
I am having trouble placing slots when I get to the last couple of levels, difficulties in placing powers and all that and making it all work out. As I try to put in my slots, I could actually have enough to fill out Hover, and 3 slot if for defense.... would that make Parry then obsolete and give me room to chase a more potent attack? -
Hi all.
I am closing in on level 40 with my Broadsword/Super Reflexes Scrapper, and would like any constructive critisicm of the build I have planned out. She's mostly for fun, but I would appreciate any insights if someone sees a spot I can strengthen or tweak better.
My main concern is taking Parry and Hover, and how those two interact (ALTHOUGH... Hover is a concept power only, so it stays just for her background.) I know little to nothing about softcapping, so am curious if I am over doing it with Parry (noting again I am keeping Hover no matter what.) Am I better served to drop Parry and choose a different attack power? Or even a 4th Pool Power? (Hasten?)

Hi all
Nice builds!
I've used the advice here quite a bit for my own leveling and gotten my heroine to 50 rather fast for me. That's a lot to say seeing that I am a 45 month Vet and only have 2 50s to call my own. (yes, I am quite the altoholic)
I'd like to post this build a friend of mine came up with, and see what you all think of it. He told me he spent 1 billion on it to create it, all the recipes bought via the BM, as far as I know. Anyway, here it is.
(I will add the bonus's as an edit soon as I can.)
