    Affordability

Well, Like London I play a lot and so far I've not had a single LotG recharge and rarely any of the other "uniques".

I've been lucky enough to get the ones I wanted for Sing Star and since I play alts a lot I've had hardly any purples. I think I'm up to 5 or 6 so far.

I've done Recluse and other SFs basically every week, usually more than one SF a week and we seem to be getting a LOT of pacing of the shi..turtle. Enough said, looking forward to the merit system!

But until then going for inf, hoping for drops and not really bothering about as source for recipes is prolly the way. Maximize team size and up the diff to relentless.

On the downside: The merit system should make "normal" recipes very cheap, meaning people will spend inf on the purples, making them even more expensive. Get the loot while you can or hope I'm wrong!
  2. Ty and no, still haven't done any with secondary rad or sonic, guess I should try assault gun as well some day.

Really just wanted a kin on my 2nd account, so prolly going for a perma-dom dom next.

Oh, nice new avatar Rhi! :-)
  3. Yeah, GM_Charles is teh bOm'! Proper english name as well...
    Gotta love'im! 'eees our baby!
  4. Proper job!
    Oh, darn, I mentioned job...
Almost time to run off to work again...

    ...bolloxx!!
  5. If it aint broken, don't fix it!
  6. Way to go Noffy...
Only got 40 bars to go myself, sao should ding well before next issue! ...even if I'm bored to DEATH!
  7. Grats to Notorious Nuts, aka Snappy Aid, aka Lil Loony. He finally got his VEAT to 50.

But (cencored) mate. That took some time...
  8. [ QUOTE ]

my point being european nations are a lot more expensive to run a games studio from, loads of them outsource to india, china and other such countries because to retain the number of people required to push out the amount of normal content a game requires is untenable, it makes the studios incredibly expensive vs cheaper locations, and the UK is worse than most of them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Erhm, Sweden is usually concidered to be the worst adn this little, loong country has such a rediculous amount of studios I can't even keep track of'em anymore. Just in my little town, three major console game developers have their HQ's. I don't think people realize how many fairly small studios there are, and that's just game studios. Add in the amount of exciting IT companies doing all sorts of things there's a huuuge shortage of people pretty much everywhere in Europe... ...with the right skills that is.

A guy like GR should have no problem finding a well payed, interesting job. If they've made som good friends at NC, good, stay in contact and get some more, new friends.

You may find my postings provocative, but never ever pity someone that's lost their job or is about to, you're only helping them develop a major depression. Pity has never helped anyone, but a kick in the soft parts might.

The major danger here is that someone might end up working on "that other MMO we all hate".
Come to think of it, wouldn't that give us all a really good laugh?

The Easter event last year was a fantastic piece of work. The vids to build up to the Leipzig event were brilliant.
The community that has been created by these boards has been and often still is, wonderful.
SingStar, my response to your poisonous little postings was a PM to you, as it wasn't fit for public broadcast.
Notify Moderators as you wish, you poisonous little troll.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    1. I will... (edit: Just checked it, nothing bad there, but sure gave me a good laugh. You're so cute)
    2. I take it you've decided to think they all suck at NC, since I'm concluding in my post the good guys (and girls, sorry for not pointing that one out) are sure to benefit. Who's "poisonous" really?

When, that is IF, you loose your job (nothing official about that yet) you can feel sorry for yourself, or concider it a new beginning. IMHO there's nothing sad about loosing your job, unless you get stuck without a job. Therefore I'd rather congratulate some of the people.

I don't feel sorry for them, and I hope they don't feel sorry for themselves. If they where sick, getting a divorse or something, I'd say 'soz, man!' even to the ones I really, really, really dislike, but getting away from NCSoft, I'm sure, will be the best thing that's ever happened to many of'em.

The boards: Oh, you mean all those one-liner posters that ruin perfectly good threads. Yeah, they're awesome (ironic remark)! Funny how I rarely see the posters in-game, you know, the real community. You should try it!
  10. My point is, the people on NC that's good will have no major problem finding a better job. I've been kicked during cutbacks several times and every time it's been the best thing that could happen since I did end up in a much better place with more money in my pocket.

Now I don't name anyone since that's against the forum policy, but I have to wonder how well you know any redname? I'm surprised you know anyone that well to rate him that high. Admittedly most of the current CoH rednames are way better than that old Bridg... erhm, some older rednames, but the post wasn't specifically about CoH, it's about NC.

...and let's face it. NCsoft have failed in so many ways, Tabula Rasa being the lastest expensive disaster. They do what they have to do, and hopefully the good guys will end up being hired by a studio/publisher that giveth a damneth.

...I also find it sort of.. well, as FFM said... It's not official. Once again: getting fired isn't the end of the world, it's a new beginning, a reason to pick your (cencored) up and do what you should've done long ago. I'm all for a good welfare security net (I'm a swede after all) but as long as it's England, it's not my problem.

    You don't get your wish.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's ok, I'm happy as long as my post count goes up!
  12. Ok, maybe I should go boohoo, how sad, but honestly I've been hoping for a US/EU merger for a long time.

As for the people loosing their jobs. Good for them, if they're worth anything they should end up in a better place (let's face it, NC isn't the greatest place to be) and for the rest.... Let's just say, I wouldn't be surprised if I saw some of'em on the streets begging. Now, just for a laugh I'd prolly give'em some money.

So am I evil? Of course! I'm a villain even if NC is trying to stop me by forcing rediculous "save the world" coop zones. Tough luck!
  13. CoX DOES have the best team system I've seen so far, teaming is fun, multiple alts are fun, global chat is wonderful, and I still get a kick out of the woooh-factor of the great powers, especially after playing a "fantasy" MMO.

All that greatness does get dull repeatedly due to one single fact for me: This game IS more repetitive than any other, especially villain side, especially since I keep making new alts. By now I know every single map in the game, and I've done every mission there is. Ok, maybe I've missed to kidnap some dude, but that would mean I've missed a name, not any content.

I look forward to that mission creator, but the main problem remains. This game is very, very small in oh-so-many ways (just look at the map size). It does what it does in a very good way, and what's in it is very good, but after 4 years what's keeping me in the game really isn't the game anymore, it's the players.

With each patch people seem to get bored faster and faster. I13 was a bit of a change that way and personally I hope the "free" villain content for all previous hero-only's will mean some new non-coop villain content.

Be asured: I have no intention of saving the world. I wanna conquer it and if I can't... well, blowing it up works for me as well..

Anyway, I'm still so happy they gave me that /sync command after 2 years of nagging about it. (You ppl remember them telling me it was impossible?)
  14. Keep going, nothing to see here! ,)
    Proooper job, mate!
  15. Well, I'm running BOINC without problems (Rosetta@home) and the NVIDIA folder program for the other one (came with the latest cool and highly unstable drivers that implements PhysX for 8-series cards).

However, with the nvidia thingy, I basically have to restart the computer for it to be stable after doing some folding. I'm guessing the folding, using the nvidia card, is messing up the drivers badly!
  16. Darn!
I was hoping I13 would finally give me a lvl 50 spines/WP brute, but doesn't seem like it's worth doing now.
  17. Lord of the rings have boosted xp too, when you've been away for a day or two, but with the current XP curve I see no reason for it in this game.

The general idea is pretty good though, a casual gamer (like me in lotro, member since start and still lvl 20) can catch up and play with more serious buddies and still enjoy the game. (Without the boosted XP I'd prolly still be lvl 10 in lotro and golly-wolly darn bored of it... wait I'm bored of it anyway).

You do get bored of games when nothing happens. If you play it a lot, you'll level up anyway, and probably team a lot. If you play less, it's a bad idea if the game keeps you stuck at one level for months. Point is, CoX doesn't! Even if you don't play much you get enough XP fast enough to keep "interest" up, unless you've already got a bunch of 50s...

..then you wonder where the (cencored) (cencored) (cencored) high lvl content is!
  18. [ QUOTE ]
But that would mean joining Facebook, and I won't do that even if you threaten to shoot a helpless kitten.

    [/ QUOTE ]

For once, lol, I agree with FFM... NO! BLOODY! WAY!
  19. As some of you may know, there's a badge hunter team working Rosetta@home. Rosetta@Home is a "distributed computing" program that might end up finding a cure for cancer by using spare processiong power on your computer. If you want to join that program, you will always find a link in my signature to our team.

Another similar project is folding@home. That project even has a special Nvidia version to use your graphic cards power to help out. Now there is a City of Heroes team for that as well. ID: 142938 and stats page at: this place

It doesn't cost anything to join, you may think it's fun, and it may turn out you'll be the one that end up saving millions of peoples life, while promoting this game by joining the right team!

Why am I doing this? For me it's personal. Two years ago my mother died in cancer. My grandmother died in cancer, my aunt is still fighting her cancer and my sister is pretty much expected to get cancer sooner or later. This is an easy and free way of doing something, and I personally find it rather fascinating.
  20. Once again:
This is not about pvp or not pvp in pvp zones. PLEASE return to the topic people:

What do you consider such a bad behaviour even in a pvp zone that it's worth petitioning?
  21. Oh, sigh, this thread has gone completely side-tracked, as expected.

My original point was, of course a pvp zone is a pvp zone, anything else is rediculous and not worth discussing. I'm THE top villain badge hunter in Europe and I accept that, so if I can, anyone should, or find something else to do.

However: Even in a no-rules, gank-all situation, is there any sort of behaviour that is so god-golly-good-damn evil and wrong it should get petitioned - apart from foul language.

The ONLY thing where I personally draw the line is when a completely innocent, fairly newbish player enters the zone to try it out, have some fun, and gets bullied by a lvl 50, top-slotted, 3-account empath buffed idiot for hours just because he can. That's not pvp, that's not playing the game, that's pure harassment and I'd gladly team up with anyone to gank such idiots repeatedly. (I bet anyone that's ever been in Defiant RV knows what I'm talking about!) :P
