  1. ...I repeat myself, but I like that:
    ...USELESS!!!
  2. Hey, I defended all those downtimes we've had, but taking down the MA without any notice (I sure didn't get any)...

...it's getting rediculous, and I'm royally fed up with it all. One single (booring if you repeat it) hall of fame arc, a few fairly ok/dead boring Dev choises and a whoopin' amount of grinds and I'm already dead bored of the "content" and now it's not even working.

I guess I'll treat myself with a new PS3 game tomorrow and forget this useless pile of (cencored) (cencored) and (cencored). They can go (cencor) their royal (cencored) carrot cake for all that I care. I suspect they just finally killed off another MMO and in a few months I'll be happy they did.

    ...Useless!!!
  3. CAD miles away from the level guy? HUH? You know there's one in the middle, not just the one at the PO ferry.

Also, many villains hang out in the RWZ AE so we can coop with heroes, since villains doesn't really exist, we're just good guys saving the world from an island perspective. Sure we occationally beat heroes, but that's just firendly competition. We don't steal stuff from innocent people, or do anything else usually associated with real villains and we save the world on a daily basis.

Basically it's just those fascist Longbows that call us villains nowadays. Go figure! (Yes, that was a rant about the missing villain content)
  4. So where's the "The MA is down" moan and whine epic weekend thread?

Personally I almost deleted my new epic arc because nothing was working on it, and I didn't get any message about the MA being down! USELESS!

So I guess I should demand double XP, inf, merits, recipes and other drops, discount sub etc, but it's all USELESS.

..it's friday, the MA is down and I'm just fed up with it all! Go on, make another epic thread!
  5. Laughing my pants off!!!
You kill me, and I think I like it!
  6. So the MA is exploitable. Was that a surprise?
So it continues to be exploitable? Was that a surprise?
So there's always gonna be some sort of "exploit"? Is that really a surprise?

Now, the MA is new, so it will take a lot of data mining and tweaking to balance it with the market etc. In time they should get it right, but there's always gonna be ways of "exploiting" stuff in-game, like Ouroboros and different ways of PLing. Now you can choose to view this in two ways:

    1. D00m, the MA is a disaster, from the start or long whine about it being nerfed back into nothingness
    2. Ok so it's not perfect, but still, wow, we get to do our own story arcs and it's gien us more content than we've had since the start in a feew days (admittedly 99.99999% is so crappy you get annoyed you wasted time on it).

This is probably the most complex content patch ever, and I'm personally surprised we haven't seen more downtime. I just wish we got the "improved stability" traditional patch, not to mention more-real-content I15 patch, and a proper search interface for the MA with bookmarks/favourites, but...

As far as the MA goes I'm quite impressed about what we can do even if people are abusing it wildly. Sure I was annoyed when my shield generators where removed, but that was just logical. If it does continue too long, I do understand people getting upset, but so far the changes have been ok.

and honestly, can you see people grinding tickets as madly as now in the long run? I'd rather do a bunch of ITFs any day than play MA just for the tickets.

..come to think of it... I'm wasting time here... back to the game!

    To much farming

    Fifteen pages of this!
    Fifteen!!!!

For cryin' out loud folks, I'm the master of Moaning and I'm still saying, Yes *I* *am* still saying....

...give it a rest. It seems we need a few days collective off-line experience, which would incidentally (but doubtfully) get NC's attention as well.
  8. You know, I just remember I never got around to installing 362706 because the self extracting zip file was corrupt, no matter how I downloaded it, on whatever machine I did it on, and trying again today, it's still corrupt after download.

...weird! And as usual there's no email adress or anything else to report the problem to.

Just thought I would let people know, I have been looking through the information on Vista SP2 and can see from the RC notes that this fix will be included in Vista SP2. Come April the problem should no longer affect people (unless SP2 brings new errors of course...)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Any news when SP2 will be released? I think getting these hotfixes (there's two of them now, you know) are a bit "too complicated" for most people to bother, while SP2 will be applied by most of us without hesitation.

...also these 2 hotfixes didn't fix my problems with my Nvidia 8800 card. Still get grey screen of death, and a lot more with I14. (drivers way up to date as well of course)
  10. LMAO Dave! I'll be waiting for you this evening, SB ready!

As for 8 man teams, yeah it's a bad thing, but for the opposite reason!!! I was one of those that got very excited about Cathedral of Pain, a possible 16 man raid, WOW (pun intended)!!! Alas, we know what happened even if the devs are trying hard to make us forget CoP was ever in the game, not to mention those base raids.

And with ouroboros is effect, and now MA, you only need a friend or second account to powerlevel really. The last 1-5 run I did, I realized it wasn't too hard to actually do it within 14 days all alone with my two accounts. It would be madly boring, but quite easy. I might have done it if there had been anything to do after that, except roll 4 more alts, then 2 more alts, but there isn't.

...so now I'm grinding booooring stories in the MA to get stupid "epic" MA badges because there isn't much else to do except perhaps follow London's orders and make my own off-line MA editor, but I haven't programmed for real for a few years so the idea isn't too exciting. ...but yes, it is tempting me. I will at least fiddle a bit with the "text files" to see if you can do some things the in-game editor won't allow!

Hey, it has to be done!
  11. While I do agree the graphics engine badly needs a revamp, that would be a huge commitment for the programming department, but more story content would most likely be in a different department even if programmers are needed in the end to make it work.

The quesion right now is, what have the people behind the faultline remake and "story content" been up to lately? I hope it's... BIG!
  12. I recently started a new fire rad/kin corruptor team on defiant. Just playing 2 days/week for a few hours and we got to level 20 in no time. As long as there's teams levelling is fast and not nearly as boring as PLing. On villains I do tend to see a problem finding teams though. I'd rather get "PLd" in an 8 man lvl 50 team than play solo/duo in a "my level" team any day.

...but yet again. Just let people do what they wanna do as long as they don't mess up your game (like the ones asking you to pl them, asking why? when you say no, and then just goes on and on and on...)
  13. Had some crispy DC fun on ITF recently after I:MA.
Lag canyon throughout the ITF from mission one to the finale. Admittedly some of it was actually rather fun, but I fear the dreaded EU servers can't take the pressure, captain [SIC]...

Everyona (well, too many) hanging out at the MA, uploading/downloading mission data might just be too much with what might be some serious server memory leaks??? Sometimes I just think they need to restart the f'in servers every morning to keep the game healthy, because usually it's running so wonderfully smooth if you play right after some maintenance.
  14. Think you might be better off moving this to another section, say the tech/bug?
  15. Not sure if that pleases me or scares me, LS!
  16. Oooh, and devs probably agree:
No point even trying to satisfy the customer base, they'll always want more no matter what NC puts into the game!

Oh, some might be ok with just animated hair though?
  17. [ QUOTE ]
All I know is that I15 is going to be a make or break issue for me. If it doesn't come through with lots of additional content AND modernizing the game to compete with CO & DCUO, then I think I'll be calling it a day, at least for a while.

I'm not really playing at the moment, I'm barely even logging in and my posting in the forums has reduced a LOT in recent weeks. Effectively I'm taking a break as I'm just burned out on CoH and am waiting to see what NC come up with for the 5th anniversary event (if anything) and I15.

If they don't come through, then there's nothing to stay for, really.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't usually agree with you, but you've nailed it this time: I think a LOT of people think like this. Unless I15 delivers some serious new content (zones, STRIKE forces, villain content, something new in the "world" poeple will start falling off. Right now most of my globals still pay their subscription, but hardly play the game. They are gone if there's not something new, exciting to do.

Personally I love how a virtual world "progress", how the story of the fictional universe evolves and most of all, I love playing my level 50 buffed up characters I know so well with other people I know equally well. It's still some fun running a RSF with oldies because we hardly think, we just run through it. But most days it's out of the question because: been there, done that.

Sure, even if NC puts in tons of new arcs, maps, trials, SFs etc we'll grow bored pretty fast but I'd rather see that than another batch of "power proliferations" or even a new powerset.

The MA: Yeah, I have to admit I've enjoyed it more than I thought, but I've also found it's already boring, because even with new cossies and combination even the custom critters are just old stuff and even the DEV Choise arcs I've tried was... ...not exciting. Sure, given time there will be some excellent stuff there, but MA 1.0 can't do what the devs can do, or professional folks planning a TF for months, as a part of the actual "universe".

I'm so glad some other people got hooked on this discussion, because even if you're the kind that never ever reads the mish desc's this ("story") is the next "stand or fall" for this game.

The zone remakes been ace and so has some of the other stuff, but I sure hope the "other" dev team hasn't been busy just remaking (hero, sigh) zones and just adding one more small chapter to "the coming storm". I Want, I NEED, Yes... I DEMAND a big hunkah hunka chunk!
  18. OMG if you're new, you've just ruined 50% of the game experience imho. I can deffo see anyone with a few lvl 50's dead bored of the pre-stamina stuff, but you've basically missed the total overall introduction to the game world and a lot of experience of the game that will serve you well...

...not that level 50 n00bbers are a new concept. It's driving me pretty mad whenever I face a lvl 50 alt joining ITF or even regular teaming and they don't have a clue about the game, their powers, their build being so rediculous it does give you a shuckle for a second or two.

Point is, as a new player, going from level 1 - 50 will teach you the game and people will like playing with you. Powerlevel your way up, then beginning to ask questions anyone should know by lvl 50 and you'll end up having a harder time finding nice teams. I always try to be helpful, but running into lvl 50's asking how you get a second cossie, what inventions is, and "what's an EB?" or the even worse: "Is it good XP" (yes, at level 50) will get that "note" system up'n'running and me typing something that's not allowed on the forum.

Of course I defend your right to do it, and everybody's right to play the game whatever way they like, but this game is so repetitive it's insane to miss out the fun the first time around. Once you've done it all 18-20 times it's logical if you want to skip major parts and hurry to the high level content even if some of the best content is actually low level stuff.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
They might be fixing the bug that alowed an arc to get griefed out of the HoF.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, Cool! The bug that is!
And cm'on, yes it is annoying, and I'm usually the first to moan, but it's a new, very complex add-on, there's bound to be problems that need emergency fixes for some time even if it's been testet "properly".

This also goes to show that a "surprise" I15 or event would be a...bad...thing!
  20. I really can't see them NOT running a test server trial of anything, so we should know at least 14 days before I15 hits live, or be horrified by the unevitably broken, untested game.

I'm guessing there's not gonna be an I15 for some time, but they will give us some sort of 5 year anniversary event involving some... fifth...

...and there goes the game again. I14, The crash issue!
  21. One of the main reasons I HATED Inventions when it all started was because it finally turned this game too into a grind. What made me join this game was the easy entrance. There was insps, trainers, DOs and SOs and that was basically it. Seeing all the worthless piece of you-know-what in Anarchy etc had me thinking MMOs wasn't my cup o' tea.

Sure, by now I like my purpled up alts etc and I don't mind a little grinding every now and then, but grinding = work within a few minutes. That's not fun and I'd be dangleidodled if I where to pay to work. But you also have to realize that an 8 man team slaughtering away on relentless can be incredibly mind-numbingly fun and a lot of us are glad that the MA finally gave us the chance to make some truly hard stuff. Just because it's a grind doesn't necessarily mean it has to be boring.

I myself have been happily duo'ing my way to the new stupid badges and have enjoyed most if it. Now that the team ticket problem is fixed I'll enjoy the 8 man grind a lot. That doesn't mean you have to do it, but that's the point, you can't force players to play the way you want to, that'll kill any game. The low amount of players is a problem, but I still rarely have any problems getting people to do fun stuff, even if it's a lot of ITFs.

So stop whining, and start with some proper MOANING instead. It's much smurfier!
  22. I know Smurfnof ran into publishing problems yday as well. He couldn't even test the arc he'd made even if there was no errors, let alone get it published.
I thought it could have something to do with him having more that 3 acrs published before, even if he had un-published some. Guess we shouldn't expect things to work perfectly yet, it's still amazingly stable so far.
    (And exploitable, lol)
  23. Hey, 5 star rating for a job well done!
    Ty for the info!
  24. They all come back sooner or later...
    ...They FLOAT down here!
