Next time BE on GWI've waited an hour in astalon with my toon
GW is good for a change, luckely its from the same company anyway so they are not loosing a costumer
Next time if your CoH account still active, give a yell ingame first before we plan to meet in GWBut dont make me spam too much in GW to get you back in CoH

Just pick the Fire/nrg build and replace nrg by its equal of elec. They have quite alot equal powers (punch/smasher/TF, conserve-powersink etc).
Fire/nrg is current 'active' fotm. As all the current ruling (ice/nrg, sonic/elec etc) most already have finished so moving to the next 'fotm'. -
To compare it to the others.. not really indeed
Ice - instead of trow, you slinger it from your body outwards, different sound.
Nrg - big effects, lotsa light bolb effect, way bigger.
sonic - Well... a shout? unique animation
AR, Arch and Elec dont have a sortlike. -
Kinda like BA from fire, 2acc/2taunt/2endred or the 2acc/2dmg/2endred style for damage-dealers.
-
The short range version of fire blast. Thats about it.

All heroes submitted have been added again
(changes fix is under status 'when its done'). -
Asume you would like to keep synergy (.. lol at my name) with your primairy, you can pick the Fire epic pool. Ranged (fast cast) hold, nice shield (SL/bitty fire/ice) and skip the other 2 (Bonfire is massive knockback, might work, RoTP.. ya well your personal rez power). This way you free up 1 slot, together with the 49 and you got yourself Aid Self.
Other choice would be Elec epic, A hold (okish), SL-nrg shield and choice of cone (suits firebreath) or EMP (aoe stun -recov) wich can be used to chain with Inferno to keep left-over mobs stunned after your nuke. That case, drop shivers and use that power + 49 to get aid self. Personal Shivers i never liked, surely the -recharge/-slow is great, but CE and ice patch can do most of the time enough already.
And if you like -slow/-recharge, consider Ice Epic. Shield is defence based, no hold power, but you get a target-aoe sleep, hibernate (Woooo) and Snow Storm, a toggle target-aoe -slow/-recharge (imho better then shivers).
So if you wanna be a boss holder, go for elec or fire epic. If you think 1 hold (melee) is enough and want more control & panic button, Ice. And hold + nice shield + pre-nuke control power.. Elec.
(i tested, IcePath + CE + Snowstorm + ice shield = tanker style)
The other powers are all good choices (i have a 42 AR/ice and 50 nrg/ice, so am quite used to the /ice set - My AR dropped CE to pick frozenfist+icesword, pretty ok melee damage) -
Great, i just defeated that guy last night as EB to move on with my missions. But i have another 42'er, who might get it soon

Most blasters with /nrg do

I hate playing as a tank... I find them too boring and slow to play ... Scrappers do more damage in a quicker time but dont have the defence of a Tank... Thats the only pro for a tank ... Brutes are far more useful and better to play Pitty there a villain tbh and there also incredibly versitile and fun.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats the nature of the beast, a tanker isnt build to kill, its build to tank. Any tank that can kill fast is a extra, not a requirement. Good tankers with IO-sets (or some even without) can also be killing monsters, added they have more defence to stay alive (without tier9 panic button).
If they would offer me to swap my Granite tanker for a Brute, not in a million years. Brutes are for selfish people, Tankers for the teamplayers -
Respec you mean
After picking powers&slots you will get to screen where all enhancements are played in a huge tray and all your powers are empty. From there you can put them back, or in your inventory (max 10) or leave them there and click next, it will ask you if you wanna sell those and state the ammount of inf you get. -
Granite only has KB protection, no resist. As strong knockback powers still kicks granite down, Rooted has also 10000% resist to those.
Like forcebolt has a mag18, where granite only gives 10 base protection.
As far i can remember of my 30ish, it does work with Granite. However thats nearly 2 years ago. -
After seeing the damage of tripmines yesterday in a team, i definiatly stick with sonic/dev
-
At first i used 3 macro buttons, each for 1 set of pets to move them around. As i have a 5 button mouse (2 side) i made binds to those buttons.
Now i plya mostly with necro's, where zombies are melee and ranged quite ok, Lich needs ranged always but the 2 gravenights do awsome dmg melee. Having left button assigned to all goto, right one is all attack. Then made binds ctrl+left button is goto for gravenights, ctrl-right button is goto for zombies. Shift-left button is goto for the Lich and shift-right is goto for both zombie+graveknight. Additional numpad789 are passive/defence/agressive.
(iirc left and mouse side buttons are button4 and 5).
I takes abit to set it all up, but after that they are quite ok controllable. As i deleted my 19 Ninja MM, i never was able to try that with that MM. -
I made a SS/elec now, just a lvl6 but quite enjoyable. Thx for the advice to that
I'm very familiar with perma-Granite, my 50 tanker hits nearly 2 years now. The state he is now was a massive investment (120m+), and not really in the mood to redo that again -
Why would you herd if a spawned group is nicely packed up, nothing around, open space and all you have to do is run in, 1 aoe and a taunt and you go 99% agro already.
Pulling a group away from danger zone (seems most call this farming already) or wrap em up to a more tighter group (for aoe's) i do sometimes. Specialy for Inv it might be handy to have em packed tighly due invicnbility.
But that stupid 'wait here i herd these groups to here' while the entire team could just walk there.. nah really not needed and some cases even annoying. (3 blasters ready with a nuke, why waste time herding if u just run in to grab alpha and let blasters do their thing).
Tankers that tell the team they go herd, is pretty ok. A leader (non Tanker AT) of the team that tells the tanker to herd group A B and C and put them around the corner... lol go do it yourself. -
*runs around*
factions is the best!! *(if u wanna get lotsa skills and fast lvl20)
-
If you wanna use -res, sonic/NRG or sonic/elec would benefit waymore. stack bunch of -res and TF/bonesmasher do pretty crying damage.
And really, AR/ice aint that bad.. well.. ok.. nvm that -
After a nrg/ice and Ar/ice, i have all the patience in the world
-
Wow, nice story there. Only how can you fill in Sui, only asumed in form of ice. Kaze, i asume storm?
But where will your sonic be in? I would say Ku or Shiki, but you have them already.
I'm still planning a sonic/dev toon, but unsure if i wanna do another blaster. I do know i most probably go sonic/dev/elec for previous mentioned reasons. -
Gadgets indeed can, look at the /trap FF-gen
1 i would skip, Repulsion Field. Even 3 End-Red slotted this thing drains your energy in seconds, pretty lousy power.
After a nuke, 1 blue and PFF keeps you safe long enough for the 10sec -recovery to be over and regen normaly again. FoN also have a increase recovery iirc, slotted you can hit cap resist with Temp.inv. Nice power to have, crash is bitty annoying. Sonic nova has a stun in it, making it abit safer to use.
I went Ice on my nrg/ice blaster, the powers itself are ok (ranged aoe sleep, toggle -slow/recharge) and hybernate is a lovely power with no crash and awsome regen/recov. 3 recharge and its up quite fast actualy.
I had FoN on my first blaster (main) but its too situational to be used. AV fights are great for it, you can go in melee safely (but you're dev, wouldnt be needed). So since you fight 99% ranged, i would go for either Ice or Elec.
As EMP of elec already give a 10 sec -recov, it works great with Sonic Nova. Run in, Aim->EMP->Nova. I am sure 99% of mobs that survive this will be badly mezzed (EMP and sonic nova do stun, so even bosses stun). Also Elec has a nice cone power, great in chain with your sonic cone (same range iirc - damage is okish). Shield is nice, SL/NRG resist.
Fire is okish, char, fire shield (not often u face alot fire/ice dmg though), Bonfire (... well u gotta love it) and Rise of the phoenix, the selfrez with stupid damage but 5 or 10 sec immume to all.
Ok that was epic story, i know you want to stick concept, but you also need to look for balance in the sets. That like i see EMP->Sonic Nova as a great combo, -regen/-resist/stun from 1 blow and you only need to worry about 1 time 10sec -recov only. -
As the title, i free'ed up 2 slots on my accounts. Having 3 tankers (my favo 50 granite/SS, 39 fire/EM and 37 Inv/Axe) i decided to go Brute. I already have a 26 SS/Stone (copy of my tanker) but i feel too much 'heroic'.
I really like elec, so was thinkup these 2 combo's. SS for Rage, KO and footstomp, or elec for the awsome animations and aoe's on a Granite. 3rd option was Fire armor, as it has a self heal, but as my tanker isnt 50 yet, i prefer doing another set first.
I'm probably lotsa solo, wich might be bitty hard pre-granite but elec lacks any form of healing. As i spent over 120m to break -recharge of granite, i feel bit up to doing that all over again. But i know after Granite fun really begins.
Wich of these 2 would be more viable solo during the 20-38 content? -
Level 38: Time Bomb - Drop this one. Nobody wanna wait for 15 sec to it to explode, 99% change it miss mobs u focusing on. Replace it by tripmine, way way better. Fast recharge, stack 4-5 together, calltrops on it and lure em in
Level 10:Targeting Drone - give it a end-red
Munition Epic is a bit weird choice, this way you will face redraw animations on a non-weapon toon. But as i see its concept wise... But if you plan to use it not much, i wuold rather go sleep grenade (stack with sonic) and LRM missile. Freeze ray is annoying redraw, or you have this for a ranged hold? -
Friday we go play
7 lvl20s, 1 lvl9 (pre-searing) and a lvl12 -

Makes it completly useless, perhaps only as interupter for skyraiders or such.
