Its interesting because my current (but outdated) Fire/Fire Doms build is Scorpion Mastery for softcapped s/l. I've wanted to update him but didn't want to give up softcapped s/l for Fireball and RoF.
I couldn't get a build that was softcapped s/l with Fire Mastery that also had a level of recharge I was happy with. So this build is pretty cool. I think what I'm actually gonna do is just go full recharge for my Fire/Fire Dom, since Tough and Fire Shield with Cardiac and the Shield Wall +3% res IO nets you over 60% s/l resistance. That with the Rebirth Destiny should make him tough enough. Especially with how fast he'll kill stuff with Fire Mastery and Reactive
Very interesting build though, thanks for sharing. -
Just make a Fire/Traps in Praetoria and bring it heroside. Nothing Defenders have compares to Scourging RoF.

Hey, you spelled favourite right
Edit: what the hell, the surprise/shock face is all embarassed. -
-
There is far too much Scrapper on that. This does much to confirm several theories of mine, heh. Bloody Scrappers.
-
Yeah, I looked at the number, was like "wait...what?" counted the zeroes, then had a good laugh.
-
Pretty maybe, but its got even worse duration/recharge stats than PG (which is already pretty bad) and is slower to cast to boot.
-
Ooh, that's a very good point. Dark Mastery Soul Drain recharges twice as fast. Plus /Dark doesn't really get a lot of benefit from Powerboost, so its not really worth going with Soul Mastery.
-
Well, Cardiac should help a lot with the extra endurance pressure. If you pick up Dark Consumption from the Dark pool that'll also help.
-
DM/Fire or Fire/Dark Brute or Scrapper. Fits thematically to what she's running, has resistance shields which will benefit from her shields and both are very good combos.
-
Good point ty, fixed. I've also updated the update list (har) which I hadn't updated with all the various fixes and build updates I've made in the past few weeks.
Oops. -
Ninjitsu. With IOs you can make up the extra defense and +rech that SR gets plus all the toys /Nin gives you.

Quote:I'd go with Rebirth. While you may not feel you're ever wanting a team heal, since you're already bringing massive +def to a team, +regen and a heal to manage whatever damage does get through is the best way to go.Here's what I'm thinking about FF:
In general, there's a lot of flexibility, and most of these choices are going to depend a lot on your other powersets and your playstyle. Personally, I build for damage and run around like a tankmage. Partly this is because I'm /Dark, which gives me zero tricks, and partly it's because FF's trick is kb, and kb only ever makes me feel like I'm slowing the group down (we're talking incarnate slots, so I just mean endgame content here, of course). This means that I'll probably just grab a reactive interface, a warworks lore, and I really have no clue about the judgment yet: maybe void for flavor, maybe ion for the bigger number of targets, maybe pyronic because I'm tired of long activation times, I dunno. I'll be sticking to the left sides of these three trees, except maybe for reactive.
I think there's a little more to say about destiny, although I don't find any of them very inspiring. Clarion's mez protection is all but useless with dispersion bubble, but the +special would let you come close to softcapping with just the shields and maneuvers. (But it doesn't let you actually softcap without dispersion bubble, like power boost and power build up do.) I don't feel like I have a lot of trouble keeping people under dispersion bubble, though. Barrier is pretty obviously not super attractive--you should be softcapping everyone already, including yourself, and your res can be pretty good, too. I never find myself wishing I had a team heal, and I carry greens, so Rebirth is out. Process of elimination gives me Ageless, and hey, the debuff res on the right side of the tree partially fills a hole in FF anyway, so that's something. And more recharge means more damage, which is also good.
The Rebirth heal is great for when people don't back out of stuff like Nova Fist in time. It'll also lessen your dependence on green insp, so you can bring more red insp if you want to do as much damage as possible . -

After the Fire/Kin Corr hits 50, what you've gotta do is make another Corruptor. Maybe /Dark, maybe /Rad. Whatever takes your fancy. And +1 to the WST thing. While I've never taken a non-50 on one before, I hear the expeez are indeed delicious.

inb4 "buy me builds" :3

Probably Traps, since many of the debuffs are persistent and you can always KB stuff back into your patches.
You can also just hover above stuff, rendering most of the KB into effective KD. -
Even Hasten with 1 or 2 slots would make a big difference given the level of recharge BrandX has in their build.
Of course, BrandX if you just don't like Hasten its not a big deal, you've got enough recharge anyway. Hasten would just be a sizeable boost. -
Update: Traps guide updated with i19 build, various corrections made to several guides. Melee guide is also done, link in sig.

Build looks very solid, especially with the revisions. Only a few things I'd recommend tweaking.
I'd drop the end rdx from Fire Blast. Its only saving you about 1 end (even less with the Cardiac Alpha) and you can put that slot to better use elsewhere. I agree with Wanted_NA, I'd move the Apocs to Blaze. Its your best attack, put your best set in it.
Try and slot Soul Drain more. I'd want the recharge on it maxed out with decent accuracy too. It'll turbocharge your offence and you've got enough recharge to get good uptime on it. Speaking of recharge, why no Hasten? You've got enough recharge to have Hasten perma (or close to it) so I'd pick it up. -
Yup. Blaster will pretty much always do more damage, but the Corr will solo easier and be better for teams.
