Well actually, here's the deal. My 50 Earth/kin Controller Incarnate, Dr. Stonevault, has given me an ultimatum.

Either I give her an extended vacation away from baf-ing and lambda lounging or she'll destroy the incarnate powers I just recently finished crafting for her.

She can be a bit ornery at times.

So....here's the challenge:

I've got a level 44 Fire/Kin Corrupter Rogue. I need to take him up to level 50 so I can have something else to do besides encasing bad guys in rocks.

I've got Thursday, Saturday and Sunday night open this week, but after that the schedule looks pretty good.

Are ITF's and other TF's the best way to go to get there quickly?

Just askin....

Why the rush?

ITFs never hurt, but also if you don't qualify for the NotW for the WST (i.e. non-50, non-Incarnate, etc), you'll get a sizeable XP reward instead. Also the new i20 TF/SF are level range 20-40, so you wouldn't even lose any powers if you wanted to take part in those due to the exemplar rules, as you are currently level 44. Plus, to make up for the no NotW in the WST, you could cash in the Flames of Prometheus for a NotW (when appropriate) after runnin' the Mortimer Kal SF.

So, you've got some options.

Thanks Cobalt. Very helpful! Didn't know that about the ITF, good to know.

The WST, you mean.

45 is an exciting level, with the STF, LGTF and Kahn available (if you can get to them). That one level shouldn't be a problem for you.

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

After the Fire/Kin Corr hits 50, what you've gotta do is make another Corruptor. Maybe /Dark, maybe /Rad. Whatever takes your fancy. And +1 to the WST thing. While I've never taken a non-50 on one before, I hear the expeez are indeed delicious.

Whatever you do, don't powerlevel the thing any faster than normal leveling will allow. You are plenty newb enough without adding to it.

I'll be around quite a bit for the next several evenings and we'll find what you're looking for.

Or, now that you'll soon have a level 50 red side toon, you can make a Soldier of Arachnos. Crabs are tasty.

Sonic is pretty good I hear. With the Alpha you can add close to 20% +RES to almost everything. /Traps is really fun but it's probably suited to a "slower" game; fights end so quickly that by the time you set up it's time to move on, sadly.

Of course...Cold Domination is pretty crazy...Sonic/Cold, Dark/Cold, Rad/Cold, just give us another Cold, please!

As for getting those extra levels, LGTF, ITF, LRSF, even older content gets you up there with the new experience rules.

Those unlock at 20 now, sadly.

Ah, yes. I keep forgetting about that change. Thanks. Still, Soldiers of Arachnos are awesome and worth giving a try.

Cardiac Alpha only actually adds about 2ish% to the ally shields for /Sonic, assuming you've got them decently slotted. It's a nice bonus, but the real benefit is the end rdx. It allowed me to respec out of Mu Mastery and into Scorpion for softcapped s/l on top of my resists. My Fire/Sonic is now sturdy as ****, yo.

Traps doesn't have to be played slowly though. Toetrap stuff. Granted, its still slower than say /Cold which is only really gonna be dropping Sleet and maybe Heat Loss on your average spawn, but Traps can still be played fast.

Why sadly? If the lower unlock level for the epic ATs means more people get to enjoy them, that's a good thing. Its not like the HEATs/VEATs are an incredible reward AT, they're epic in the story sense, not the power sense. Besides, hitting 50 is hardly an achievement nowadays. WSTs, debt reduction, patrol exp, the SSK system, papers/radios have all made leveling much, much easier.

Personal, and potentially out-dated opinion which I'm well-aware of. It just felt more earned previously, back when content levelin' was harder and longer as factors such as XP curve smoothin' and debt reduction hadn't been introduced yet. Aside from the feelin' that you finally made it to fifty, wewt and such, they rewarded you at the end o' your first journey with a presumably Epic AT. Additionally, it let you know that the person playin' it had at least one character that made it all the way to fifty, and could or should have some sense o' how the game's mechanics worked to some extent.

I'll agree that the HEAT is sub-par to the term 'epic' in the power sense, which takes away partially from the reward o' it bein' unlocked, but it was a reward none the less with a solid story that ran perilously close to an idea that was in my namesake's conceptual background.

Mind you, I only unlocked the HEAT the old way. I've never rolled a VEAT and really have no intent to do so at this time or in the near future. The only true villain that I was in the process o' levelin' was my Rad/Rad Corruptor that's been stagnatin' at level 35 for some time now as I got distracted by other characters, which really doesn't pertain since I rolled'im after the level requirement to unlock was lowered.

TL;DR: Opinion. And we all know 'bout those.
