I read his guide and couldn't help but hear it spoken by Sam Jackson while I thought "This is the exact mindset of a Warshade!"

He is not the first to take that tone in a guide, nor will I be the last.
I like the guide Dechs, but I've gotta say I take issue with this.

I get that you really liked the style he wrote his guide in, but you've done a bit more than just be inspired by it. You've pretty much copied the entire core stylistic idea, the MFing whatever. You've also not given him credit for it in the guide itself, which I think would be an important thing to do.
  2. I'm not talking about building for range/AoE/draining, I was just talking purely about doing damage. Though thinking about it, building for draining but not taking or using Power Sink seems a little silly.

Anyway, I didn't say ranged blasts don't have their advantages, of course they do. I don't get what this "often what's said here" "often wrong conventional wisdom" stuff is all about, no one has said playing a blaster purely at range is wrong.

DarkGob said blapping/blapptrolling can be very effective and I agree. If someone wants to play their blaster primarily at range, that's their choice. I'd still recommend taking at least one melee attack because by and large, Blaster melee attacks are great and stuff is always gonna get in your face sometime. Besides, hopping in and out of melee with CJ/Hurdle is trivially easy.

Not taking any melee attacks at all just seems unnecessarily to the ways in which you can do damage. Which, as a Blaster, is what you're best at. Draining things is all well and good, but killing them is better.

Liking what you get for doing something and liking the something itself are two different things :3

As far as our needing more people, the dual-boxing issue only came up after the original three of us had been asked about covering two mitos each, to which none of us objected.
Ladies, gentlemen and catgirls of the court, I'd say the real question is, why should anyone care, given that Hami raiding is dumb and also boring?

    Riddle me that, Your Catgirlness.
  6. There's nothing wrong with playing a Blaster exclusively at range, no. It's just not as effective at doing damage as using both ranged/melee attacks.

Very cool costumes. I've gotta ask a purely logistical question though, where on earth do her boobs go when wearing the armored suit?

Yeah but your phrasing is functional and accurate whereas his has a massive implicit value judgement attached, which are always fun.
  10. If you enjoy playing him and you like the character, that's reason enough. If you want to talk purely mechanical benefits, no, not really. Sorry CL.

To start? People have already been complaining about it, heh. I think the complaints are that they have to respec to get it or that they don't want the Fitness pool.

People are silly. IIRC there's a dude on the forums with the sig saying something like the game could print money and people would complain the bills weren't sequential? Or if it printed money sequentially, people would complain they weren't random :3

    lol, "forced"

People saying stupid things isn't a good enough reason to not make a change, people will complain about anything. Let them complain about greedy devs price gouging the poor casual players

Because I think that's really a minimum here. The price where people will go out and farm more than what they want for themselves.
Although having them not tradeable/sellable but purchasable from a NPC would be a very effective inf sink.

Burn is too. Less egregiously so, due to the drastically smaller area of effect and lower target cap, but Reactive-enhanced Burn still melts everything it touches.

As I said in another thread, lol WAI

This, pretty much. I'd pay pretty much all of the prices listed in this thread in a heartbeat and then some.

I've got a lot of characters. I've got a lot of Fake Internet Money. I don't have a lot of time. It's a simple call for me.
  16. Yeah, this has huge chunks copied verbatim from Amygdala's CoP trial guide. Not cool, guy. Give credit where credit is due. I like how one of the links to an image doesn't work because the block of text has literally been copied and pasted.

  18. Maybe related to the TF temp powers bug? I don't know a lot about it but what I've read seems to be that temp travel powers are sometimes greyed out and sometimes aren't.

But for now its just lol. drop a burn and the numbers go everywhere since each tick of burn has a chance to proc reactive, whatever gets caught in that just dies.
Yeah...I'd barely played my Brute at all the past few weeks, but PLed a friend briefly today. Decided I wanted Reactive, went out and was able to get up to t3.

Wow. It's crazy. I also went ahead and made an inspiration combining bind too. Clearing +4x8 frontloaded fuzzy kittens in about 2 minutes. Used to have to eat purples, now I kill so fast I don't need to.

    lol, WAI
  20. Patch goes live tomorow. Also, Fire Blast for Corruptors is getting revamped to the following:
    1. Blaze
    2. Fireball
    3. Blaze
    4. Rain of Fire
    5. Build Up
    6. Footstomp
    7. Rage
    8. Fortunata Psychic Wail
    9. Blaze that Scourges 100% of the time regardless of hp
  21. Eh? What I meant was that while a dude saying something another dude said is technically a quote, it doesn't mean the person actually said that. I can say that Posi told me he reads my guides before he goes to bed every night and is trying to push through a change for Corrs to have 3k base hit points and people can point to my post saying he said it, but that doesn't mean he actually said it.

I wasn't at the Meet and Greet, Posi may well have said that they're done with powerset proliferation. My point is that I think someone saying he said so is a quote is being a little generous with the term. Secondary source, if you will.
