Aneko, this is beneath you.

Quote:3D is overrated. I've yet to find it enhances my enjoyment of a movie. Plus, as someone not used to wearing glasses the ones you have to wear piss me off.I skipped the 3D. Roger Ebert said it just made a dark movie darker.
I should have done it before this one came out, but now I'll go back and marathon the series.
Still a gimmick, IMO. -
You'll need both HL well slotted for end mod and to hit as many targets as possible. Each enemy hit sends out a buff aura and one radiates out from you, so the way to get as big a buff as possible is to get right in the middle of the spawn. That way, you'll get the buffs off every enemy in range as well as the one coming off yourself.
With enough enemies and endmod slotted HL you should be able to recover 4-5 end a second even with the crash debuff. As Deacon said, several of the nukes require you to be in melee anyway. -
Quote:Greatest Defenders, the TA signature character?Well the writing is on the wall for defenders, this picture was posted in another thread. Check the top left: "Our greatest DEFENDERS will fall." Clearly the devs intend to entirely eliminate the Defender AT.[snip]
Manticore dies... and nothing of value was lost. mirite? -
Quote:I disagree. My experience is that the people who don't want to support the team play ATs and characters where there is little or no expectation for them to support the team, not just play support characters poorly. Playing support poorly is not a uniquely Corruptor affliction. The reason I would tend as a team leader to recruit a defender over a corruptor is that the player who rolls up a defender probably actually has some interest in supporting a team. Defender is not generally the PL-ers choice.
They are more likely (especially in the mid levels before you can have everything slotted up) to have taken the powers, slotted the powers, and most importantly have a playstyle that may actually help keep the team alive and steamrolling. No guarantees, but I'll take the higher odds of getting a support-focused player if I'm looking for support on a team. -

If you're going with Dark Miasma I'd actually recommend pairing it with anything but Dark Blast. Dark Miasma has huge debuffing power on it's own, a great self heal and several control powers.
The advantage of Dark Blast is the debuffing, utility and control it brings. Dark Miasma doesn't need any more of any of those things. What it needs is damage to take advantage of the debuffed/controlled enemies. Fire Blast is perfect for this and if you prefer Defenders they'll be getting it soon too. -
I used to have a big stockpile of shinies I was quite pleased with. Then I realized that while pretty, they weren't doing me a lot of good in there. So I went back and gave a bunch of my characters more pimped out builds. Much more enjoyable.
I derive much more enjoyment from playing my dudes with IOd builds than stockpiles of IOs and inf. To each their own. -
Cool idea, but I'd suggest a different primary if you're open to it. With all the res from the shields you won't have much benefit from the -dam so what you really want is more damage. While you could have everyone using incendiary rounds, you'd get far more damage from Fire Blast proper.
As far as Sonic Disruption is concerned, Fireball and RoF work equally well as PBAoEs -
Oh hey, I guess my Emp/Sonic hitting 50 is a thing that happened.
-
I don't post my builds because people can't handle just how real they be.

Very sorry to hear about the baby Elf, my condolences.

Also, WP is boring. WP cutting chunk out of themselves to craft things to enhance their powers crosses the Boring Threshold, so it's a No Go.

I doubt Defenders would get cranked up DoT on their version of Fire Blast. Would be interesting I suppose, but I don't its likely. Since the best aspect of Defender blasts is the modifiers on their secondary effects, I'm not too excited about Fire Blast.
Sonic Blast will remain king of the Defender secondaries as far as powergaming is concerned. Hard to argue with stackable 20% resist debuffs. That said, I think the biggest advantage of Defenders getting Fire Blast will be that it might encourage more aggressive play, something most Defenders seem to lack. -
So I've updated the Cold, Kin, Therm and Sonic guides for the AoE buff change. Hooray.
The curious or merely masochistic may be interested to know my Empathy Defender hit 50 and I am now working on an Emp guide. Guides will be written for Time Manipulation and Poison eventually too.
Emberly, Heh, one can only hope -
Quote:This was before the Brute Fury changes. Before the changes, generating high Fury practically required lots of incoming attacks. Now Fury is much more dependent on your own attacking. You may as well stop waiting for Ice Melee on Brutes. Brutes used to have the ice sets in beta, but they were pulled because the slowing was counterproductive to Fury generation, so I don't think brutes are going to get those sets.
As for the actual proliferation, it's nice and all, but the only set I really had an eye on was Cold Domination for Masterminds, which didn't happen. Oh well. I guess there's the next round.
Brutes may still never get the Ice sets, but the original reason no longer holds water. -
A Defender who can almost do good damage, but not quite. I'm waiting on FF till Corruptors get it.
-
Time Manipulation Corruptor.
Poison Corruptor too.
More guides to write oh me oh my.
Edit: its funny, I've wanted Psy Blast for Corruptors since forever, but now its on the horizon I'm not that interested anymore. Suppose I could make my TM Corruptor Psy, but can't get enough of dat double-Scourging RoF. -
I am pleased about this.
Fire/Time Manip and Fire/Poison Corruptors here I come. -
