Saturday, 10pm eh? That's actually a reasonable time for me. Dunno if I'll be going out that night, put me down as a maybe.

I'll bring whatever we're lacking, most likely something supporty.

Edit: Before someone tells me to lern2read, that's 10pm central Silas time

Right, but my point is the same could be said for Brutes or Scrappers. Playing Scrappers or Brutes as pure damage dealers is a purely artificial limitation placed on them solely by the player at the controls.

Sure, Tankers are better equipped to control aggro, but that doesn't mean Scrappers and Brutes are unable to.
  5. Surely an AT has whatever purpose you give it?
  6. We need to get the OP updated with all the new guides that have been written.

Not to mention after all that, you start to get to the late game, and running with more and more people who use IOs, and I just don't see it being all that impressive.

If it was an AOE buff (even if it didnt effect yourself) I could see keeping it. But when it's just 1 or 2 people...with everything else Time has to offer, I'm really not seeing it.

Mind you, some +DMG is nice of course. But let's take Kins for example, often times when running my main, I'd say they could skip me, as all SB did was make them have to target someone else, and all I got out of it was a faster running speed, which while I like having it, took time away from them doing other things besides buffing.

I feel the same way about the other ST buffs, like Clear Mind, I find a waste. AB/Fort I don't think are all that either, but that's in a set dedicated to buffing others, so it's a bit different.
Difference of attitude then I guess. Personally I think Fortitude and AB are incredibly powerful buffs and very worth taking, even if they weren't in a buff-heavy set.

Clear Mind/Thaw is a different kettle of fish, it'd be great if they got the AoE buff change too. Throwing them up individually is a hassle, since they don't last very long and are generally purely proactive.

As for Temporal Selection, I'll be taking it. Who knows, maybe after playing with it I'll change my mind. It's not as insanely powerful a buff as AB or Fortitude, but its still a nice damage and recharge buff. You're right, it won't have that large of an impact on highly IOd characters, but not everyone builds for a lot of recharge. Maybe it'll just be a buff that's best used on people who aren't heavily IOd (or just not IOd for recharge.

The damage boost is nice too. Nothing major, but nice.

I guess the way I see it is: it's a support set, it's a good ally buff power, why not take it? The stats on it don't look so meagre as to be worthless and lord knows I've served time on far more clicky support sets (Kinetics) so I don't think it'll be a problem. It might end up like Frostworks, fine with one slot, nice to have but nothing crucial.

Edit: Fortitude has a 120s duration, 60s recharge. TS has a 120s duration, 120s recharge. Fortitude can be maintained reliably on 6 people with high recharge, so I figure TS could be maintained on about three people.

How do you like it? I went the other way with my recent rebuild of my Fire/Sonic. Given Cardiac I decided I was able to go s/l softcap (was Mu before). Now he's got s/l softcap on top of the resists and mez protection from Dispersion. Dude is tough.
  9. Maple syrup ran out, generators went down. An unprecedented catastrophe in Canada's history.
  10. It's not the "the best" because that depends on a huge variety of factors. For most of my builds, I find it the best choice because of how it allows me to reach high levels of mitigation without high slot investment. It allows me to get softcapped defenses as well as the levels of recharge I want.

I've played a lot with ranged defense builds and they're great. A big advantage to ranged softcap builds is that the majority of stuff which can mez you is ranged, so you're much less dependent on BFs. The downside is you're building off a much lower base, so it generally requires more build investment to get to the softcap.

Of the resistance shield sets, I'd say Dark Mastery or Mu Mastery are my favourite picks. The dark shield isn't as good as the Mu one, but the other powers make up for it. Mu is awesome for reasons already stated.

This. Tar Patch having the same -res values and RoF doing double Scourge damage makes the Corruptor a clear winner in this pairing IMO.

Defenders will still have higher debuff values on most of the other powers but Dark Miasma is so potent the Corr values are more than sufficient.

Brutal, sorry to hear that Sov. Hope you're able to get your stuff recovered.

But yes, this list is very subjective. Notice how many people list MMs at or near the bottom, and yet there are a not inconsiderable number of people who adore them and play nothing else.
If you don't mind me asking, if you dislike Corruptors so much how did you stand one all the way up to 50?

As for the subjectivity, yes, these lists are clearly opinion based. That said, how one phrases one's opinion makes a big difference to what is communicated.

  17. I admit, I'm surprised. When I saw the thread title, I expected it to be mostly Scrappers at the top.

Am pleasantly surprised at how many people rank Corruptors highly.

    For me, it's probably:

    1. Corruptors
    2. Dominators
    3. VEATs/high level Controllers
    4. Blasters
    5. Scrappers/Brutes

ATs I have yet to enjoy playing: Tankers, Warshades, MMs.

Special mention to my Emp Defender, who I really enjoy playing despite being a) an Emp and b) a Defender :3

I guess the high regen helped but not enough to deal with the huge AoE special Hami damage.

But that's weird, I thought people had done nuke runs where they use VG heavies/Shivans and given that those raids succeed, the regen has to be enough to keep them alive.

I'd imagine it's difficult to get the +regen Rebirths effectively staggered so the pets always have high regen, maybe that's why? The debuff nukes also play a factor I guess, but p sure they don't debuff Hami damage.

So how did it go? Seems like it was a success, but did you guys have to run it the normal way?

    Either way, cool idea
  20. Claws or Fire. Claws moreso in a target saturated environment (read: AE) Fire moreso on regular maps.
  21. This has gotten out of hand. I've deleted my inflammatory posts. There's no need for this.

Apologies for derailing your thread, Crusherina.
  22. Crusherina, if you don't want the information to get lost, you can post it in the guides section where it won't get automatically pruned by the board software.

So, to boil it down, 1) sorry, devs, but real, actual players don't read the forum boards, 2) I wouldn't be posting this if there was any other way, and 3) could somebody schedule a Dr. Q for me for Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 9pm.

BTW, if you are a real, actual player, and you have read all the forum boards, I apologize if I have offended. But, please, get a life! And if you are a dev, I now understand why you can't get any of the good stuff into the game; you're spending all your time reading the forum boards!
