    "Moral Combat"

    [ QUOTE ]
Actually, someone with some decent editing skills splice in Superman from Superman the game in place of Statesman and send it back asking for their opinion...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why stop there? With video editing and related software so doable these days, a hobbiest could take that same soundtrack and substitute in various promo-video shots of everything from 'Superman,' to 'ToonTown' to 'Hello Kitty, Online' and make this even more of a alarmist-farce hilarity than it already is.

So consider it a compliment that you've made a character famous enough for him to fall under the attack of sensation seekers and alarmist propaganda. All famous people and characters usually are.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Right on, Sam. Right on. Ultimately, these alarmists will be the losers in all of this... but sadly, the battlefield will be left with fresh scars which may never fully heal.

I'm extremely disappointed that an image of Statesman would be used in such a way.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Those producers needed the actual footage (regardless of the game's true intent or purpose) for their silly propaganda tool. All such action-oriented video games (even the promotional materials) are fair-game to them. You can thank this partially upon the NCSoft-hired CGI promo-company for having created Statesman to be so charasmatic upon the screen.

It may also hint that there is an actual show-segment which displays more about their dealings with "City Of..." in the body of the program. But they make one flaw in their arguments up to this point: THIS is not some childrens' game. It is a game played by ALL Ages. And hence, the very 'parents' they will try to appeal to... can very well be part of the same audience they paint with a broad-brush. That... is the 'weapon' to be used against them here: parental-ignorance will not become an asset for them to exploit.

Now that the 'House' has shifted its balance of power, expect to see more of these horrid propaganda-projects getting government funding and 'The Green Light' in the coming days.

    "It's a Win-Win...for the children..."

Yeah, when they frag your sorry *ss back to Boston or Kalamazoo, it will be!

    6) That there were sometimes up to 12 Winter Lords spawning at one time in King's Row, thus making it the most popular zone in winter 04-05.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A bit incorrect. The KR Zone had that many separate Zone Map *locations* in which Winter Lords would spawn, but at no time during the famed Event did the KR Zone have anywhere near a dozen active WL spawns all occurring at the same time...on any CoH Live Server.

[ I remember exactly what I said in one of those threads! It was started by a guy who was a Wiccan and claimed to be a witch.

"HAHAHAA YOU CALL YOURSELF A WITCH AND YOU'RE A GUY! WITCHES ARE CHICKS!!1!! LOLOLOLOLOLO!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Many practicing Wiccan Males choose not to be labeled as a, 'Warlock' because they find the term offensive by general definition. So they accept the idea of being better referred to as a, 'Witch' the same way many practicing wiccan females do.

    Did you know....
Tram stations did not always have the spotlights as markers.

    Did you know...
Spotlights were not originally in place at the base of the American Flag on top of Paragon City Hall dome in Atlas Park. It was added in because of the Players' shouts that the 'American Flag' should not be flown in darkness during the Night-Cycle.

    Did you know...
that originally the City Hall dome Flag did not move or animate from its fully-open state. This movement was added in some time later.

    Did you know...
Early Players had trouble finding the newbie Signature Trainers in Atlas Park and Galaxy City, because of the sheer number of Players who logged in at once looking for those Trainers. So the Multi-level Dais 'platforms' were added underneath where Ms. Liberty and The Back-Alley Brawler now stand to make them more targettable. Later the Glow-Rings were added at the base of the Signature Trainers as well.

    Did you know...
That many NPC Pedestrians who happened upon a street-crime taking place, not only threw their hands up in the air, turn and ran off, they also ran "vocally-screaming" away from the scene as well?

    Did you know...
that the Clockwork drones/minions who were defeated in any street-fighting, fell forward with a Male (not robotic) grunting sound?
  8. I am surprised she has shied away from the Wacom Tablet up to this point. Maybe she's waiting for Vista to be released.
  9. ...who struggle to capture the photo-realistic light, the mood, symetry and feeling on traditional art canvas... take a look at the work of a young girl,

who has churned out artistic portraits and scenery since Age 4.

At least that is what's claimed on this website. But you be the judge. And if you accept her works as valid... let that inspire you to do similar things in your own creative life.
  10. Turbo, you should get a spot simply for ... ahem... finding the 'Missing-Thread.'

I would like the avatar size to be increased as well. It's a bit small now. But have you seen AIM's avatars?? ><

    [/ QUOTE ]

And that is because they have to use that same 'Avatar' in many different places and pages, including IMs and stuff. We get to use our Avatars here for just /one/ purpose. Hence they can afford the screen real-estate.
  12. You have to maintain the exact aspect ratio of the Original screenshot (or the cut-out portion) to prevent the 'squishies.'

Another thing to keep in mind is... a good screenshot is taken where there is a lot of direct and/or ambient lighting so you can easily see the character.

I am the Big Advocate of raising the Avatar Pixel space on these Forums to AT LEAST 100x100 and said so on many occasions. So naturally of course, they will never do it. But the more screen space to work with, the more elements and details can be included.
  13. This is weird. Everytime I Click on that @link from Lighthouse, I come upon a Page with a Fill-out Screen from Austin American-Statesman, stating, "Please tell us about yourself."

Edit: Seems to be fixed now.

Get back out there and grab a full-size screenshot in the Daylight... so we can at least see her.
  15. OP:

Your upper-titles are too close to the border-edge. And there is no border around the NCSoft logo, so it looks detached from the cover.

It is good, but you may not want all your 'comic covers' to become little more than picture collages. I would recommend using the various elements judiciously.

Or they could. It is only a change to the forum software, and miracles *have* been known to happen on occasion once fresh-blood rides into town.

in the interest of saving bandwidth and being user friendly

    [/ QUOTE ]

Who is saving more 'precious' bandwidth: A Forum'er with a 12K, 100x100 avatar... or a Forum'er with a 298K, 80x80 Animated-GIF avatar that would make, Cecil B DeMille jealous? Bandwidth *ain't* the issue on this one. So please, let's not use that as an excuse *not* to do something beneficial here.

while he loved this game, he wanted to develop one from the ground up himself.

Maybe all those tentacle beasts on the Cryptic website is a clue...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dollars to Doughnuts any 'greek mythology' game (if such thought of developing one existed at all) took an instant back-seat, the moment two company leaders shook hands over a mahogany and oakwood conference table some months ago. I seriously doubt you'll be seeing Mount Olympus, from Cryptic, anytime soon.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
I couldn't give a crap about increasing the size to 100x100. 20 more pixels won’t make that much difference, when you're making an avatar. If you make something 100x100 then make it 80x80.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It does mean a lot to me and some others. And if you don't care to make any Avatar bigger than 80x80... fine. Leave yours at that size. No one is forcing you to change anything. Mine can use the space-increase as it adds visual definition I want others to be able to see in my compositions. So increase the canvas-size limit and we are BOTH happy.

Interesting. Yours is one of the RARE images I have seen where the War Walls aren't totally lit up behind you. Only one or two panels lit up and the rest look like dark sticks?? May I ask what Video Card you use, and what percentage is your 'World Draw' distance-setting at in the Options/Graphics Menu?

    Thanks.
