these are all punches. it would not make sense to have them do DoT. if i hit you it would be instantaneous pain. not ticks of DoT. it just doesn't make sense.
-
well, you did at least get the order of the powers right... +50 points for that.
-
awwwwe. power, we thought you were doing so good. come on bud, you know better than this.
-
use search first. there have been multiple threads on that subject. look for staff and polearms also.

Quote:glad you think that something is easy to do when you don't even know how the programing for the game is. and the only reason new players get aggrivated is because they have come from a game where they know everything and think it is going to be the same way here. if i'm not mistaken, they had to learn everything for the other game to so there is no difference when they come to this game.
but would vastly reduce frustration among new players.
Bill and i have already said we have no problem with them adding a tag to the enhancement or fixing the mouse over. that is all that needs to be done. and flavor is part of the game. deal with it. you have already been told several times that the enhancements are listed the same exact way in each store so there should be no problem there. -
Quote:no i'm not and no i don't. if you(general) pay attention to what you(general) are doing and take the time to learn it rather then just buying whatever it isn't a problem. that is all i am saying. what you(you) seem to have a problem with is people actually taking a few mins to read some info on a part of a game. i stated i have no problem if they want to put a tag on the enhancements. that makes sense. the picture on the enhancement is just fluff. but difficult to change. more so then adding a tag.
You seem to be under the impression that people only need to buy one SO ever, and that they only have one toon. -
i think his color blindness is giving him selective vision...kind of like selective hearing
i think what people fail to see is that, while a QoL issue of some sorts, if the game keeps getting easier no one will want to play it. adding a tag to the enhancement is probably the easiest way to go. changing the graphics would not be. if you make them all the same icon, you will now have to rely on the border around the enhancements to tell you if it is a to/do/so/io. wanna know how many people will ***** about that?
i still find it funny that people are ******** about taking a few seconds to read something also. it doesn't take that much time at all out of your game play. and if you are using just so's from level 22-50, if you don't understand where the type of enhancement is yet that you need then you need to pay more attention to them. -

Create a natural Brute/Tanker/Scrapper/Stalker with a weapon set. Idea implemented.
and you haven't cleared anything up except that you want a "tankmage" which will never happen in this game. it did for alpha and then was immediately changed to none. they didn't work. and i'm sorry but you do not need any other at to "balance" you out when you play solo.
another thing, do not assume that something is easy to implement. you do not know the coding that the game uses. that is where the standard code rant comes in. since you just started this game a month ago, i suggest that you play more of it before making suggestions so you can actually get the grasp of the game.
as far as your lore, and trying to use an example to prove a point, you are wrong. here is the real story of ms. liberty:
Description
Megan is the daughter of the original Miss Liberty from the Golden Age. She has taken up the mantle to fight for freedom, in this specific case to free Paragon City from its infestation of villains. She has heightened strength and endurance as well as the power of the Liberty Belt, which was passed on to her by her grandmother.
History
Jessica Megan Duncan, who goes by her middle name Megan, is the granddaughter of Maiden Justice and Statesman from the Golden Age and the daughter of Miss Liberty and a man named Patrick Duncan. Her extended family also includes the brother of Maiden Justice, her grand-uncle Stefan Richter, more commonly known as Lord Recluse. Though suggested by others for Megan to take on her mother's maiden name Cole to carry on her grandfather's legacy, she refused, as she valued her father's name more, and wanting to step out of the shadow of her grandfather and forge a path of heroism for herself.
Early in her career Ms. Liberty worked extensively with Statesman, but recently seems to be spending more time working on making certain that new heroes in Paragon City have the information they need, as well as working on the Freedom Corps's Longbow division, which she formed. It is clear that she is determined to do her energetic best to make Longbow the premier hero assistance group in Paragon City someday.
She believes that her Great Uncle, Lord Recluse, can be redeemed. This core belief in redemption is what led Ms. Liberty to create the Vindicators supergroup.
Ms. Liberty as drawn by David NakayamaCurrent Activities
Ms. Liberty is Statesman's sidekick, but she also leads a group of heroes herself. They are called the Vindicators, and the group is composed of Mynx, Valkyrie, Swan, Infernal, Luminary and most recently, Aurora Borealis. Though Malaise seems to often drift between good and evil, he is still regarded as a member.
Miss Liberty, Megan's mother, along with Statesman, created the Freedom Corps. Megan created a military division of Freedom Corps called Longbow. The sword Ms. Liberty carries is the fabled Excalibur, which Hero 1 entrusted it to Miss Liberty while he journeyed to the Rikti homeworld with the rest of the Omega Team, and she passed it down to her daughter. Although she cannot wield the sword, Ms. Liberty carries it at her side waiting for the day when Hero 1 returns. She also wears the Liberty Belt which was passed down to her from her grandmother, Maiden Justice. It is actually the Girdle of Hera which gives the user powers of the goddess. The Furies gave this belt to Maiden Justice as a wedding present.

you also seemed to skip this part:
Quote:The powers system makes this not possible.
so let me some this up for you:
learn about the game you are playing before you make suggestions abpout new at's or powers or how they affect each other.
i would say more but i'll wait til later when you reply. -
-
i do not suggest nukes in PvP. they suck.
-
i have 5 of the hecatombs and one damage proc for a total of 4 hecs beefing up acc/rech/end red/damage plus the hec proc and another proc.
-
yeah i forget about the day job there. so used to going to pocket d for arena events. and yes, while you can use /arenalist to set up some PvP stuff, you don't get to see the arena or the area of pocket d.
-
lol... i read the title of the thread to quick and thought it said bioluminescent boobs.

Quote:yes it does actually, but there are some times where you will need to right click. and i still have yet to say that there was anything wrong with the suggestion which there is if you read my post right above this one. just a simple, fix the mouseover bug would have sufficed, but a couple people wanted to scream bloody murder so they could continue being lazy. For all your spouting this, Quint; It doesn't work.
I don't know the last time the 'Hover Over' feature worked. But it hasn't in a long time. Not for me, anyway, and not for the OP. Maybe it's Eu specific, who knows? *shrug* But it be broke.
Personally? I /Sign the OP's suggestion. I don't see any harm in doing so, and the change has the chance of helping at least some people. Win/win I say -
no. and please don't put words in my mouth. there is no problem with what we have now. it is not so far fetched to actually have to read about something to learn it. and the so's have different pics to make them specific to each origin. so yeah, lets standardize everything in the game so people can just get their hands held and lead through the game instead of having to figure things out for themselves.

Quote:no one is asking you to remember the names. they all are listed in the same way no matter what origin you have. and again, you can right click on them and select info if the tool tip isn't working correctly. thats the joy of reading things. it teaches you what things are so you can learn them and remember them. This isn't really about you, you know. It's about me, and people like me. I've been playing for a month. The only reason I use stores at all is because it's too painful not to - and even then, it took several weeks to stop looking into specialist stores and going "screw this, this is more trouble than it's actually worth". I still need tools - a spreadsheet with enhancement names, and their locations in the list - to get through a single enhancement shopping trip in less than ten minutes. It's unreasonably difficult, especially for new players that haven't memorized the 286 non-io enhancement names.

Quote:if you are paying ridiculous prices you are using WW/BM wrong. it is not a store. it is an auction house. put up a reasonable bid on what you want and wait a couple mins or hrs. then you won't spend as much. and you do know that you don't have to change io's because they don't expire, right?
I need to either use Wentworth's and pay the ridiculously inflated prices there -
Quote:look, it's not my fault you are lazy. or probably half the people in the game along with yourself.Read what...the name? Since tooltips are busted, and right-clicking, as has already been said, can be clunky and time-consuming...that must be what you mean.
So tell me...what does Military Insight enhance? How about Dragon Flurry?
military insight is taunt and dragon flurry is confuse duration. (thanks bill. i forgot that one cause i don't use it all that often.) -
Quote:yes, yes. heaven forbid someone actually read something to understand it rather then just look at it....
I must be typing in invisible ink or something.
...even if that was true, which it's not, as was stated above, the names have very little correlation to what they do in many cases. Mutation is fairly easy, but the other origins are a crapshoot as to figuring out which name corresponds with what type.
and if you would have read one more reply further you would have seen that i added to bills post to insure there was no confussion. -
Quote:i have done a toon from 1-50 using them. my first 50. took all of 3 months for me to figure out to use generic io's to be able to save money. and why the hell would i turn off a function that was never off to begin with? not to mention that if you actually pay attention to what you are using and spend some actual time reading the info, i know heaven forbid i mention a time sink in a game that has time sinks, you would understand them.
So, Sharker, please do me a favour and try to play a toon from 1 to 50 using only DOs and SOs, and be sure to turn tooltips off so you cannot just hover over enhancements to figure out what they are. -
Quote:by what they enhance.
... and they're also alphabatized. -
Quote:why at lv 22 are you not using io's( regular generic io's, not set io's)? then you wouldn't have to replace them every 5 levels.
...especially when you have to replace your enhancements every five levels. -

Quote:so what is wrong with putting your pointer over the enh and reading it? you haven't addressed that yet. at least in a way that we've described. But the problem is it doesn't actually train you. At least not in a way that helps you later. If you learn the icons you're screwed over because DOs and SOs use only a limited range of them, and with 26 different enhancements you will have a lot of samey colours, not to mention that it screws over colour-blind people like Vorn.
