Pulverizing Melee (suggestions)

I would like to see a Melee powerset that cause DoT, and smashing I envision this style attacks to look similar to karate form punches, that causes internal injury (a.k.a. Damage Overtime) kinda like how the Dev was inspired by Taijiquan for Kinetic Melee, also playing the game Godhand gave me the idea.

Gauntlets

Here are some ideas what I think the gauntlet costume pieces should be I envision them covering the fist all the way up to the triceps muscle or the wrist with a glowing artifact on the back of the fist.

  • Medieval type gloves with a seal on the back of the fist
  • Chinese jade with dragon scales that glow.
  • Japanese samurai gauntlet with glowing like flame.
  • A glowing tattoo covering the arm.
  • a mutated looking arm with a glowing eye on the palm of the hand
  • a cybernetic arm with a orb as well.
  • Futuristic gauntlet with glowing knuckles.

Brute/Tanker/Stalker

I only made 7 attacks seeing that each powerset comes with either Build, Assassination strike, and Taunt. well I going to revised this powerset idea, and give it another shot.

Pulverizing Melee
- You contain mystical gauntlet that were once worn by an ancient deity. You’re able to absorb enormous amounts energy into your gauntlets then releasing that force from your fist, causing sonic booms with cataclysmic results. Nothing can stand-in your way; buildings, and mountains will bow at your feet as they crumble down, you can attack large groups at once causing extreme, and superior internal damage over time, but every good thing has its drawbacks this powerset requires large amounts of endurance and has very long recharge time that can leave you drain. You cause high knock backs, and knock down, also hold, disorient, fear, and Defensive Debuff.

Vaporizing Knuckle - You perform a quick devastating one-inch punch that sends your opponents flying that deals moderate smashing, and Minor damage overtime.

Demolish - You slam your elbow into your opponents chest causing them severe pain and loss of breath that lowers their defense and reduces their chance to hit. You cause Minor smashing damage, and moderate damage overtime.

Cardiac Halting Blow
- You focus a large amount of concentrated energy into your fist and releasing a thunderous punch to your opponents chest causing them to suffer a cardiac arrest which causes a holding effect and reduce recharge, endurance, and regeneration recovery rate for a period of time, but with high smashing damage, and Moderate damage overtime and a moderate recharge time. NOTE: this power can be interrupted.

Obliterating Fist
- a ferocious thundering blow that gives High smashing damage, and Extreme damage overtime to the selected target, but causes all enemies within melee range knock back with Moderate damage overtime. Your opponent’s defenses is lowered with a chance at disorienting all enemies with a long recharge.

Seismic Decimation
- You cause a powerful earthquake with one punch to the ground. All enemies will fall down violently, reducing their accuracy, and all defense with a chance of fear to all foes with short Moderate smashing and high damage overtime.

Liquefying Clap - your character widens their arms and slams them together crushing the enemies skull. Your opponent’s equilibrium is greatly off balance; confusing and causing your target to attack his or her allies. Also effecting their accuracy, perception, and chance to hit is reduced dramatically with moderate charge. NOTE: You will not receive any experience points for foes defeated by a confused enemy.

Fist of Annihilation - You release your terrifying force at maximum power causing a roaring atomizing punch that sends all enemies flying with your fist. Beware this has a long animation and you lose all endurance, but your selected target receive superior smashing and extreme damage overtime, as well as, all foes in melee range. You have extremely long recharge time and drained endurance.

Pulverizing Melee - Stats Effects

Vaporizing Knuckle
- (Effect) - Melee, Moderate Smashing, and Minor DoT(Smash), Foe Knockback

Demolish - level - (Effect) - Melee, Minor Smashing, and Moderate DoT (Smash), Foe -DEF(All), -To Hit, Knockback

Cardiac Halting Blow
- (Effect) - Melee, High smashing, and Moderate DoT (Smash), -Foe Hold (HIGH), -End, -Regen, -Recharge, Knockback.

Obliterating Fist - (Effect) - Melee, High smashing, and Extreme DoT (smashing), PBAoE (Within Melee Range) Moderate DoT -Foe -DEF (All), -Res (DMG), Disorient (Minor)

Seismic Decimation - (Effect) - PBAoE, Foe -ACC, Fear, -DEF (ALL) Moderate smashing, and High DoT (short).

Liquefying Clap - (Effect) - Melee, Confuse (High), -ACC, -Perception, - To Hit

Fist of Annihilation
- (Effect) - Melee Superior Smashing, and PBAoE (Within Melee Range) Extreme DoT (short) Knock back (High)

well I changed it from being DoT to a smashing, and DoT.

these are all punches. it would not make sense to have them do DoT. if i hit you it would be instantaneous pain. not ticks of DoT. it just doesn't make sense.

yes, I Understand its internal injury from the force of the blow. I read many comics where a brute-like character hits its victim and they suffer injuries after the battle from the inside that's why I explained up top in the introduction it was internal damage, not external damage.

the basis of a tank/scrapper/brute/stalker attack is to front load all of the damage due to them being in melee range. they need to kill faster to survive. with DoT damage, you would be wasting attacks trying to make sure that what you were fighting was dead before you were. for ranged at's this is fine because they aren't being attacked as much. for melee at's it would not be.

Fiery melee has DoT in every one of it's attacks, given it's an 80% chance but it's a start.

Personally i can see a powerset with all the attacks dealing DoT being quite tedious. you would have to wait till your enemies health was wittled down by the DoT damage for them to be defeated, plus it's really quite hard to tell whether an enemy will be defeated from your attack if it only deals DoT so this set could end up appearing very end heavy as well.

It's good that your thinking outside the box as far as concept and the way in which enemies are damaged, it just, IMHO, wouldn't be a very practical application to the game.

well I revised it a little bit I still think it would be unique and something new to see a melee DoT, I think if we add both smashing and DoT would make it a fun powerset.
