Hmmmm, so... the only guideline on the video is to show a character's dark side? No other theme or guideline as long as they follow the rules?
So we can make anything we want? (ie music video, trailer, an origin story, a 3 minute short, an opening sequence, etc?) -
Nice, been waiting for the Talsorian Bow. I just need a few more levels with my archery blaster and I'm off to RWZ for some merit hunting.
Laser Archer will have his laser bow! -
Curious. I wonder what this is going to be. Since it's posted in the Media forums and for media fiends, my first guess is it's a big video making contest of sorts. And there was mention of a big contest by NCSoft in some interview I think. But then again, didn't we already have a City of Commercial contest recently a few months back? Although... that one was held by the Player Event guys.
Personally, I'm hoping this is not the mentioned big contest though. I was hoping for something that more people can get into. So I'm thinking, this may be a new feature of sorts to further help people who love making videos. Maybe a big update to demorecords... a user interface perhaps? Or maybe a built-in way to capture video in-game without using software like Fraps? -
Mine would be the screenshot I made into a wallpaper. Some have probably seen it, since it's in my signature. But I have updated my costume (actually months ago), but only recently have I updated the wallpaper.
Updated Shadowrush Wallpaper
Still the same pose and everything, just with Shadowrush's latest costume adjustments. Also the old wallpaper still had a hyphen in his name, which I took out, when we could buy rename tokens.
I love this angle, pose, and background so much, I just had to redo the wallpaper with the same thing with the adjusted costume and name.
EDIT: Oh, and there's also this screenshot. It's an old one, still with the old costume, it's a shot I took for a CoH comicbook I was making for a contest. I don't think I can ever truly replicate this shot again. -

I did that and i still have a bug in my lvl 50 ice blaster, when i log in i dont see any baddies or contacts and i cant leave to another city, it wont let me on the train or take tunnels and i cant open doors to get in the buildings like the university, is this the bug they're fixing?

Hi iceninja,
We have a discussion thread about this issue (that is not specific to Issue 12) in the Technical Issues Forum. You can find more information by clicking that link.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would disagree. I have never had the problem until i12 went live. I find it not having something to do with i12 and just occurring the week it went live for a lot of people more than a coincidence and something specific.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not really. It is an old bug. I've had that bug happen to me twice before I-12. Once in I-10, and another in I-9.
Although it hasn't happen to me in I-12 yet, it does seem to happen more now to other people though. Perhaps there maybe something in I-12 that's making this old out-of-sync bug more potent nowadays? -

Global Chat Handle reset
All accounts initially start with the ability to change their global chat handle one time. This grant will reset that and allow accounts who had previously changed their global chat handle to do so again. This is a one time chat handle change, so please use it wisely.

Thank you! Thank you!
I used my global name change a very long time ago. I've been wanting to adjust my global name for a long while, now I can finally do so! -
Hehe we did fail to get the badge. But it was fun though. I also got to experience something new that I haven't personally experienced before, until last night's run: Fighting all four inner circle villains at the same time! And win with little trouble! I thought that was kinda great.
-
Whoa...
I heard that Rularuu was trapped by a group of heroes into the Shadow Shard. I had no idea it was them. (Or maybe I did, and I just forgot.)
Cool video! Even though I've tried a lot of I-12 on Test, I still can't wait to play it for real on Live. Very excited! -
O_O
Wow, I heard of mission creation being suggested before a few times by a few of the players. Even if I wanted it myself, I never suggested it, since I always thought it would be too big a system. But I... I had no idea you guys would actually do it.
This... this is AMAZING! No words... no words...
I used to create community content for Neverwinter Nights, before becoming a game designer. Oh wow, you can believe me when I say... I am making missions, story arcs, and TF's with Shadowrush's (and other heroes in his group) stories. I can just imagine it now...
Thank you! I can't wait! -

He's also excited about the addition of traditional RPG branching tree dialogue, something they didn't have in City of Heroes until this Issue and will now begin to use quite a bit.
[/ QUOTE ]
Finally! Finally! I've been wanting this for so long. I've even suggested this a long time ago in the Suggestion Forums.
I'm a fan of RPG's that actually allow you to choose what to say in a dialogue with the NPC's, and sort of allow you to decide how your character would act. I love computer/videogame RPG's that have this feature, like Fallout, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Mass Effect, Planescape:Torment, etc.
Yes! CoH/CoV will finally have some kind of branching dialogues system! O_O
In all honesty, I am looking forward to this more than VEATS or Power Proliferation. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! -

"Eh? Am I reading this right? I knew about being able to pay for slots... but..."
*Re-reads it again*
Wooohooo! Free slots! I'll be getting about 5 free slots! *gasp*... Five new characters on my home... server... oh... my mind's... running.... character.... concepts... everywhere.... *gasp*..... *faints* -
Welcome to the forums Blue Steel and Mynx!
-
Very interesting. Issue 12 seems to have more stuff than I was expecting. Just in time too, to try out those new VEAT's, my Brute is just 5 levels from 50 (I rarely played my villains, until recently, this past month, when I started focusing on my Brute a bit).
I've heard of the Midnight Squad somewhere before in some in-game text on the hero-side. It will be interesting to finally meet them.
Can't wait for Shadowrush to go back to Roman times and access this new content and storylines. And there's so many great QoL features too!
I also can't wait to find out what powersets each AT are going to get. Although, there's a part of me that fears of my upcoming predicament, if the devs decided to give Ninjitsu to us Scrappers. Ninjitsu is closer to Shadowrush's original concept... if this happens, I'll be contemplating whether or not to reroll him as one. (I probably won't, but it will probably bug me for a while)
But all in all, a great issue! I can't wait! -
Here's some of the screenshots I took of the event.
Before the wedding:
On top of a terminal, watching the mob
The long line (I'm in the middle of the line, just entered the street)
The Wedding (third to the last show):
Getting ready (Synapse, Posi, Citadel, BaB)
About to start (Citadel, Statesman)
War Witch in the crowd
The wedding commences (Sister Psyche and Manticore on stage)
Lord Recluse appears!
Battle ensues! (BaB hits Mako, Shadowrush about to use Dragon's Tail)
Battle continues (Using Sands of Mu on Mako)
The battle went further, but was having too much fun to take more pictures. I'm happy to say I survived it all. Took out 3 player villains, and got a chance to fight with BaB against Mako.
The After Party in Pocket D:
Three Kronos Titans in the Ski Chalet area
Party People (War Witch dancing, my friend Raven Acerbus to my left)
Even Lord Recluse dances!
Positron hovering in the background
More of the party
Someone with a lot of Snowbeasts!
Except for the long line to the wedding. I enjoyed the event and had a good time. -
I mostly spent mine trying to earn influence with my main hero scrapper (just need a couple of LotG's to completely fully IO out my build). Got around 80 mil influ, mostly solo, not counting the stuff I sold. In the middle of it I took a break to level my villain Brute from 35-37, which I have been neglecting for a while.
Could have been better, but not bad for mostly soloing. I had fun this weekend. -

I haven't been visiting the forums the past couple of days. Wow, I had no idea some of our fellow Freedomites were having this much of a problem getting into the server.
I have been playing Friday night, and most of today (Saturday, from sometime after lunch till about now) in Freedom. But I did experience the server being greyed out a couple of times when I was switching characters, but I just kept relogging and trying a few times till a spot would open and I got in, which only took a minute of persistent trying.
But when I did see Freedom get full and go grey for the first time, of course thinking that there will be people who'll have to keep waiting/trying until a spot opens (which I know is frustrating), a part of me also thought... wow the devs improved the servers and increased the server size, and Freedom still got full? A part of me couldn't help but chuckle a bit at that fact.
I had a feeling before that there was a good chance the server cap would still be reached, but I had no idea it would be constant enough during peak times that it would cause this much of an outcry.
Aside from the suggestions already presented in this thread, my only suggestion, which is basically just for playing this Sunday, is to try to log-in during off-peak hours, like in the morning and early noon. And if you do still end up having to see Freedom in the grey (like you DC'ed or really have no choice but to play during peak hours), then just keep trying to login.
And remember (for those who don't know), that server list page after logging in your username and password, doesn't update itself every second. You have to go back into the login screen and enter your information again, and keep doing that until you see Freedom in red. It might take a few seconds or perhaps a long while, but luckily I have been able to get in quite quickly when the situation showed itself.
Anyway, my symphathies go out to my fellow server mates who weren't able to login. And here's wishing you all for better luck on getting in this Sunday and finding a slot on our server to play. -
Amygdala, Tigra Swipe, Taos, thanks for the comments guys!
EEEKK, I didn't notice your post when I posted mine. That is some insane crazy amazing thing you have done. I am in awe.
The thought of doing something like that, and thinking about the amount of work I did just for a one level split level from mine... Was that 30+ hours just the implementation or does that include the designing and planning as well?
Taos: Really?! You'll do that? That would be excellent! I'll send ya a PM. -
This is my first time posting my base pictures in here. I have a solo SG that used to have a small base in the default 8x8 plot, but because of the double prestige grant lately I was able to upgrade to the 8x12 and let my creativity move a bit more. I was thinking of posting this in the "small base" thread, but I found out it's really just for those with 8x8 plots.
So here we go, the Shadow Den, Shadowrush's secret base and primary headquarters of the Sentinel Detectives.
Main Entrance/Split Level
(My first attempt at doing a split level using the magic desks)
Entrance overall view
To the costume lockers and restroom
Costume lockers (For 4 out of 5 main Sentinel Detectives members, the other hero is a robot piloted by a six inch alien, so he didn't need one.)
Small storage space on the second level
Storage under the stairs
The actual portal entrance on the third level
A view from the third level
Control Room
(From the entrance, we move to the control room just next to it)
The entrance to the computer room
Stepping into the computer room
The Shadow Computer (TM)
Complete with forensics and other crime-fighting equipment
Transportation and Teleportation Hangar
(Across from the Computer Room is the main hangar, housing 8 teleporters, and someday... a captured and modified Arachnos Flyer. I still don't have one at the moment, but I'll be able to get that vet reward in about 7 months. So for the moment it's just "being used" by someone... for some heroic deed and such.)
View from the corridor
Right Teleporters
Left Teleporters
A view from one of the teleporters
View of the hanger door, and Shadowrush wondering why he has a hangar when he doesn't have a vehicle yet
A closer look at the giant door
A secondary doorway from the hanger to the generator room
Inspiration Storage/Main Intersection
(We go back to the corridor and approach the base's main intersection where a small alcove for Inpiration Storage can be found.)
Corridor View to the intersection
The inspiration alcove
Medical Facility
(Going to the left from the intersection we see the room that has saved Shadowrush's life a few times.)
The corridor of the Medical Facility (Also contains a small waiting and relaxation space)
The entrance to the room
Our resident robot doctor, the operating table and medical area. (He doesn't talk much, but he is really good at what he does)
Another view of the Medical Facility with its reclamator
Generator Room
(We go next from the Medical Facility to the room that powers the whole base. Don't worry, we don't use hamsters.)
Behold! The Generator! (The basic one)
Another view of the generator room
Workshop Rooms
(Going back to the main intersection, we turn right this time into where Shadowrush and scientist-grandfather creates all of his wonderful toys. This is actually two rooms connected to each other.)
The smaller room, the Invention Room
The primary workshop room, coming from the invention room
Another view of the workshop
A closer look at the Empowerment upper section
Sparring and Training Room
From the workshop we turn into the the training room. So far it consists mainly of a raised sparring platform, mixing a martial arts look into the base, and a few wooden pillars used as punching bags. I may upgrade this someday, hoping we get exercise or training base items.)
The sparring room
Another view of the sparring platform
Shadowrush, punching wooden training pillars
The Trophy Room
(From the training room, comes the last and deepest part of the base... the trophy room)
View of the Trophy Room entrance from the Training Room
Going inside the trophy room
A closer look at the elevated section with the Pillar of Ice and Flame
A view of the other side of the trophy room
The base's main Vault (Salvage storage) (Also houses all of Shadowrush's large crime-fighting tools that he teleports in, aka temp powers that can't fit in his utility belt)
Well that's it. Thanks for viewing. Someday I'm hoping to expand the generator room and get the Turbine Engine, and after that a room that can fit an AES (And the prestige to afford it). I'm also looking forward to the 36 Vet Reward for the Arachnos Flyer. And also to expand the trophy room a bit.
Also I wanna thank the devs for the prestige grants or else this base would never have existed. -
Just some nitpicks and suggestions:

4. To Save a Soul 17 Missions (2 Defeat X, 7 Delivery). So with 8 Missions it doesnt sound so bad. But in the final mission you are facing the Madame of Mystery EB and anyone who has done this knows it is damn near impossible to solo, no matter what your build.
[/ QUOTE ]
You may also want to point out, for those who do decide to flashback to this arc (crazy people like me), that the final mission gives a temp power to use against Madame of Mystery to help you out in fighting her. My challenge setting prevented me access to my temp powers, so I had to use drastic measures, like using my Tier 3 red inspirations from my base to solo her. Very hard fight, especially since I was debuffed as well. My suggestion to people flashbacking to this, be sure to have access to your temp powers, especially if you're soloing it.
[ QUOTE ]
9. Project World Wide Red 16 Missions (1 Delivery). Again the killer is that they are Malta. But to top it off the final mission has the Kronos Titan, which will spawn as a GM and you will not solo and if you fail the final mission you get no badges. It is timed so you will very likely fail.
[/ QUOTE ]
There are two Titans in this arc. The GM version of the Kronos Titan spawns outside, a few missions before the final mission. No need to fight the GM if you don't want to, he is optional. The Kronos you have to fight, the one inside the final mission, is an AV and can spawn as an EB (and it should, especially in Heroic). In other words this arc is soloable, but of course I wouldn't recommend it for collecting the new badges.
But all in all, good work on the guide, it should help out a lot of badge hunters out there. -
Hmmm, the feature sounds fine. I just have a question though. The friends list that will be shown, is it just our local server friends list or our global friends list?

XIXXI isn't a legal Roman Numeral. 59 is LIX.
If you split it up to XI XXI it's 11 21. I wonder... could that be a part of the solution?
Also, who is Silos? That might be a very important clue.
[/ QUOTE ]
11 21 could also be a date. Perhaps November 21? Closed/Open Beta maybe? -
Hehe yup, Weapon Customization has the General CoH forums in a wild frenzy of "OMG!" "I pissed my pants" "Best Issue Ever!"
The devs have also peeked into that large thread there, giving samples of the customization.
Things mentioned were dual sais, two kinds of daggers, a tommygun (AR probably), pipewrench, a shovel, etc. It makes me think what else we can turn our weapons into?
And I concur, this is probably one of the most exciting issues for me in this game. -
I saw this suggestion before, and I could've sworn I already replied to this thread when I first saw it, but it looks like I didn't.
I love this idea, not necessarily the exact examples you gave, but the idea in general. I would so love if the devs created something similar to this. It would add another layer of customizability and a chance for ones background story to have some kind of effect to what our characters can do.
If something like this gets implemented, I hope that it will have a wide range of choices.
