No, no, no, no, NO.
Too much chance for EXTREME controversy. Plus all the complications detailed previously.
Very, very, very /unsigned.
Magic/Natural do the job quite nicely, thanks. -
Not entirely sure, but I suspect that Elusive Mind only provides defence against Psi attacks (otherwise it would be providing an advantage against ALL ranged attacks, when it's only meant to help against Psi).
-
Grrrr... damn you. Okay, time to edit.
Edit:
Decided to go with Aggravated Assault, since almost any Meta-human would be defined as a deadly weapon. -
Elizabeth Ross sat half-way down the side of the long table in the jury room, studying the others there, offering a smile for Lucy, the young woman who had been sitting beside her in the courtroom. Drawing herself to her full five-feet-four-inches of height, her long blonde hair cascading down her back, she addressed the gathering.
"We're here to judge the facts of the case of the FSBA vs. Edward Johnsson, charged with Murder in the First and Second Degrees and Aggravated Assault to an unknown number of members of the Freakshow 'gang'. I use the term loosely, of course. We have all heard the evidence presented, and as the judge informed us, it is not our duty to let any sort of personal feelings enter into our deliberations, but to determine the facts of the case. Which are, as far as I can see: Did Edward Johnsson knowingly and willfully kill members of the Freakshow gang? Did Edward Johnsson use a level of force in excess of those required by his duties as a citizen of Paragon in the pursuit of the safety of his fellow citizens and those with him?"
She paused, an almost palpable aura of power seeming to crackle the air around her. "I would call for an initial vote on the charges. If we are unable to make a unanimous decision, we shall discuss the charges in further detail."
Sitting back in her chair, she once again seemed like a young woman in her early twenties, nothing special about her at all. "On the charge of First Degree Murder, I vote Not Guilty. On the charge of Second Degree Murder, I vote Guilty. On the charge of Aggravated Assault, I vote Guilty." -
The RP SuperGroup sticky thread is still current. As far as I know, the supergroups listed there (particularly the earlier ones) are still going strong.
My personal recommendation, then, is to head to Galaxy City at around 9.00pm (UK time) and see what happens. -
Heya, PG. Welcome to the RP community.
I would say, please, please, please, don't be disheartened by a lack of posts suggesting SGs that you might be suited to joining - this is not in any way meant to be an indication that the RPers aren't interested in your character.
Allow me to explain: Most of the RP supergroups will not take a new memeber on-board without first vetting them In Character. Essentially, the only way for your character to be invited to an existing SG is for him to meet existing members and then get invited. Realistically, the only way to do this would be for him to meet them, RP with them, interact, and then he may be invited, if the SG in question thinks that he would fit in.
We're certainly not doing this to make life difficult, but simply because doing it that way makes logical sense for the game world. And you never know, you may find that he actually fits in with a SG wildly different from your expectations, which offers the potential for even more interesting RP.
Also, take a look at the RP supergroup sticky at the top of this forum, peruse the details (and check through the whole thread to see if there are any updated details), and that should give you some contact details for players who may be able to help you further. -
To expand on PRAF's comment - you know as much as we do.
-
Speedier method - leave the mission map, change the mission to another one that you have available (police band mishes make a pretty good choice for this), then switch back. This resets the mission, as described, but without having to log all the way out and back in again.

Would you be able to furnish us with your PC build? Processor, graphics card setup, that sort of thing.
You might also want to try starting CoH in CoH Safe Mode and slowly increasing your graphic settings. This may enable you to isolate where the fault is. -
Okay, getting a little confused. You can pan your view using right-mouse - this rotates your toon as well. Third-mouse button is, by default, rotate camera. Are you saying that you can't rotate your character using right-mouse, or that you can't rotate the camera?
-
I use page up + mouse movement - are you using middle-mouse button? I have not noticed any problems at all.
-
Actually, GR, since you've poked your head in here, and we know you're paying attention...
Would it, in that circumstance, be appropriate to /bug and go for option 2 or 3, to flag it as a bug, but not expect any GM support, or would you prefer us to /petition? Or both /bug and /petition?
For something like this, where it's a single mob preventing you completing them mish goals (and I see this one more than others, I imagine, with my Eng blaster), and it can be resolved without GM intervention, what would be your preferred method of us flagging it? -

You honestly think this would deter L50 griefers (to whom debt would mean nothing anyway) from killing lowbies? I don't. If they're doing it for the "lols" then why should they care about debt? If you allow high levels to attack lowbies then there's pretty much nothing that will deter a griefer (well, nothing short of the threat of permadeath or account/gameplay lockouts - and some probably wouldn't even be deterred by that). Seen it all before.
Sure, I'd love to see world pvp work, but some people just get their kicks from disruptive behaviour and to people like that world pvp is their own personal nirvana, no matter how you package it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think it would deter everyone but it is a deterrent. Alternative, or additional options include automatic even-conning, as per invasion Rikti, inf expenditure to be able to battle outside Status Level, including auto-exemping.
I don't actually want world PvP. I think it would wreck one of the main selling point of CoH, which is that to PvP you have to go to special zones/places for it. On the other hand, an entirely opt-in PvP system might be the way to go. I want to be able to take my hero to the Rogue Isles and RP out there. I want to be able to bring my villain to Paragon to RP there. Opening up the world would be awesome. And if the devs do that, they have to make provision for PvP in zones. -
Standoff, I will place MONEY (10p, anyone?) that when the "three issues per year" was originally announced, all the devs were convinced it meant "one every 4 months" and the management thought "As long as three issues are released within a 12 month period, we have met this target".
The DEVS are on our side, and want to acheive what most people perceive and agree as "An issue every 4 months". But you can bet your bottom dollar that when the MANAGEMENT floated the idea, they were thinking "Any three consecutive issues must be within a 12 month period". -
Mathematical sophistry it may be, but it's good mathematical sophistry.
Now, from the things said in the BAB quote they're trying to get an issue out every 4 months, but things have slipped a little (I'm not complaining at all!). My point is that as long as they try to acheive that, and as long as they don't slip below 3 per 12 month period, then they are doing everything they have said they will. -

You also need to find a way to disincentive high level toons taking out other toons that are substantially lower levels just for the "lols".

Code addition: If a fight is not in the same Status level, the winner gets outdoor XP debt, no cap. -
[ QUOTE ]
You don't work in a government press office, do you?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope. But I do believe in being honest about what numbers actually mean.
[ QUOTE ]
While a I13 release this November-ish would technically give them 3 releases in a suitably chosen 12 month slot, that's not really 3 issues/year as most people would interpret it. For that, you'd need an average of 4 months between issues, in reality they're doing one every 5-6 months.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now, you see, I would dispute this, personally. They have been very clear about wanting to release no less than three issues every 12 months. I actually believe that while they WANT to release one every 4 months (4 issues per year), their plan is to not slip below 3 per 12 months, which enables their schedule to slip to 1 every 6 months if it needs to. I just think that the Devs who have been commenting on it have not recognised how much leeway 3 per 12 gives them.
[ QUOTE ]
Not that I'm personally bothered - good issues whenever they can suits me fine, whether that works out to 2.0, 2.1 or 3.0 issues/year in practice.

QFT. -
Issue 10 was released July 24 2007.
Issue 12 was released May 20 2008.
That's 3 issues in 11 months.
So, since Issue 11 was released 28 Nov 2007, that gives them until Nov 27 2008 to release Issue 13 to still meet 3 issues per year.
They're acheiving so far. -
No argument from me on that score, SR. At which point I consider it to be "Nova Time!"

The easiest ways to deal with scenery-stuck mobs are as follows:
1) Send a petition. Possibly the least viable option, as there is no easy way to tell how long it will be before a GM will reply.
2) Aggro. Make sure the mob is aggroed on someone, and then move. Get out of Line of Sight. The mob will try to follow. If there is any way for it to escape being stuck, it will find it, and free itself.
3) AOE. Use PBAoE powers. These will hit it. -
My bad for asking, Sapph.
Agreed with FFM, sounds like there may be something peculiar in your mouse driver settings. -
Get someone else to open a portal for you. Take your character to the top of the gnomon (the very, very, very tip of the building). There is an explorer badge there. Once you have that, you will be given the badge and the power.
Alternatively, in heroes, you can get the badge by doing the Faultline Arcs. Not sure about villains. -
Or checked your options in CoH to ensure that zoom-scrolling hasn't been turned off?
-
I'll need to check my diary, as I think I may have some guests still hanging around.

Does it get any stranger when I say that my wife started off by playing with my CoX, until eventually she decided that it was so much fun that she wanted to get CoX herself. Now I have two lots of CoX, and my wife has one, and we're both very happy, never more so than when we sit down together of an evening and play with our CoX together?
