  1. I play with my boyfriend.

Although we share an account so we can't team with each other.
  2. Of course, there's that painful learning period where you're like, "I wonder if I can AS that?" I remember that well.

Well, I remember the taste of dirt from face-planting so much, at least.
  3. Few corrections.

It's about 60 fps that things start to blend together to the eye, not 30.

Movie theatres in the US run at 24 fps. Television shows run at 30, sometimes higher if it's camcorder feed.

Also, fps isn't a solid measure of how "smooth" something is. Oftentimes, blending and blurring of frames can capture the illusion of smoothness.

    Hope that helps.
  4. Guys... these are all free bonuses, you know. Complaining about free stuff, in my opinion, seems a little... well... ungrateful.

A lot of games give you nothing for pre-ordering.
  5. I currently have a level 34 Energy/Energy Blaster.

She has no holds. No debuffs. No defenses (nope, not even Stealth! ).

However, she's a lethal killing machine in either solo or group and that's for one very important reason: I know her and I know her well.

This may sound like common sense, but I've seen far too many people not know their character.

-You should know how many attacks it takes to kill any given minion from -1 to +2 for every villain group you'll fit. Same with LTs.

-You should know what bosses you can and can't solo. I can tackle most things except for Council vampire bosses, personally.

-You should know when to panic and start popping Respites. I usually don't worry until I'm almost orange.

-You should know exactly what your range is.

-Also, for other Energy/Energy Blasters, know when to melee! You were given Bone Smasher (and later on, Total Focus) for a reason - use them! For me, AIM + Build Up followed by Bone Smasher and then Power Burst will kill any orange Lt. that's not specifically resistant. This is much quicker than the Aim + BU + Sniper combo and leaves me with more time to Power Blast and Power Bolt the minions accompanying them.

-Another Energy/Energy tip. GET POWER PUSH. For the love of god, I see way too many Eng/Engs without this most vital of powers - it's Power Push alone that allows me to take on most of the bosses I do.

-Know when to nuke. Running into the middle of a bunch of Red/Purple minions and Lts and nuking is bad, bad, especially when you don't tell your teammates what you're doing. :/ What I do is get buffs and make sure they have heals lined up on me and then I hop in and nuke, which generally takes out most minions and hurts Lts enough that it's easy for the rest of the team to mop up.

-Know when to use Inspirations when you're soloing! I tend to have about 6 Greens, two Break Aways, two Good Lucks, two Blues, and the rest I use as I get them. I know a lot of people who get a full tray and then only use them in dire situations - you increase your potential vastly when you're under the effect of inspirations, and they drop often enough that you can have at least 1 running at all times.

-And of course, most importantly - Know when to run! I do this all the time... in fact, I make sure that I have a clear path to the nearest elevator/mission door at all times in case the fit hits the shan.
  6. (Shadow Lizard here) Now the question is, what can I do now if I actually liked the challenge of the harder bosses? I mean, before, Bosses to me were just Lieutenants with a little more HP. I fondly recall the challenging low-level game, the missions where I had to be careful and use Teleport Foe because holy crap, there's a Bone Daddy up there. I thought the new boss code was nice because I actually have to be awake to fight them once more. I mean...a Crusher Elite just killed me. I died. That hasn't happened in at least six levels. Add to it the fact that there's obviously more XP earned for the significantly harder fight, and it really makes me feel like I'm earning something by beating them.

I will concede that bosses right now are doing too much damage, but I love their newfound resilience. If they kept the increased HP as is but made it so they're only doing, say, 1.25x the amout of damage they did before (instead of 1.5x as it is now) things would be about perfect. But to go back to the old system? I don't know...

Even if I can increase the difficulty enough so that Bosses are in my missions again, what's the point if the Bosses are weak again?

I'm sure I'm not the first person to have liked the new Bosses and be disappointed that they're going (though with their 1.5x damage and ability to surprise people, I can at least concede I understand why.) So I won't just leave this as a non-constructive whine. I will ask, though...can anyone tell me what the future holds now? Does "we will revisit the Boss difficulty after mission abandoning is in" mean that this is something I can look forward to getting back? Or should I just get used to deriving all the challenge from ramping up the general difficulty to about orange Minion level?
  7. I'm not sure if this was said in the rest of the thread since it's five pages long now and I don't have time to read every post to make sure I wasn't beaten to the punch, but..

You guys do realize the 5th Column aren't Nazis, right? They have "Nazi-like ideals." They believe they're the master race. But they're not Germans. You never see them without the helmets unless they're going wolfy on you, you know, so....

My guess is that the 5th Column are actually werewolves and vampyrs and such that are on a better-than-humans trip. Like if the villains in Van Helsing had an army and "Nazi-like ideals."
