  3. How does anyone know what a Fusion reactor would do if it was weaponized? Has any scientist or military organization set one off? In the movie it was a plot device (pun not intended)... maybe a bit of a poorly thought out one, still it is what is.

I just don't get why people are nerd raging so hard over this.... Granted it isn't The Dark Knight and nor should it be. People keep complaining that Tom Hardy's performance wasn't as great as Heath Ledgers Joker (perhaps some people are more attached to the movie because Ledger died before the movie was released)... To this I say, there is only one Joker and Bane isn't him. I think what some people are cranky about is that there wasn't enough action throughout the movie. Well the first few minutes of the movie were certainly action packed. I will grant you that the movie was slow in places, however not as slow moving as some movies I have seen. I wish people would watch this movie without comparing it to TDK.

Oh and until you have attempted to watch this POS....then you have my permission to complain....lol....
  4. The more as time goes by on this tragedy the more information is being released about this whackaloon.... It looks like he had been planning this for about months or so. He had been placing orders online for his "gear" and also the explosives that were found his apartment. There is nothing mentally ill (I should know about mental illness, because I have been diagnosed as such) about that...that is malice of forethought. I do believe a mentally ill person who snaps would not take months building up an arsenal of weapons.

He could have struck at anytime within those 4 months and did not, he knew that the midnight showing of TDKR would be close to sold out and chose....CHOSE....to strike then. What is surprising is that when he opened the emergency exit door no one noticed and I would have imagined an alarm should have gone off.

As for those saying that they would have done something about this guy...heres a qoute for you:

Humans don't "rise to the occasion."
Instead, we fall to our level of training and experience.

  6. Just read this:

Holmes, a graduate student at a nearby college with a clean arrest record, entered the movie auditorium wearing a ballistics helmet, bullet-proof vest, bullet-proof leggings, gas mask and gloves. He detonated multiple smoke bombs, and then began firing at viewers in the sold-out auditorium, police said today.

He bought a ticket to the movie, slipped out of the theater once it began and propped open the emergency exit before gathering his weapons and gear and coming back into the theater.

police found him in full riot gear and carrying three weapons, including a AR-15 assault rifle, which can hold upwards of 100 rounds, a Remington 12 gauge shot gun, and a .40 Glock handgun. A fourth handgun was found in the vehicle.

police and bomb squads have found a large number of explosive devices and trip wires at Holmes' apartment

According to police sources, Holmes told the officers arresting him that he was "The Joker".

    and worst of all...

At one point the shooter exited the theater only to wait outside the doors and pick off patrons as they tried to exit.

this is truly a vile person who needs to be put down, permanently....

Not a 100% match of course. But the parallels are fairly obvious.

    Bane: Reynard
    Talia: Elektra King
    Batman: Bond
    Catwoman: Christmas Jones

Basic Plot: Weaponizing a Nuclear Reactor
The Dragon's Demise: Getting his chest blown out/through.

I am fairly certain most movies can remind us of another film.... just saying
  8. People are entitled to their opinions of TDKR, however this is not a direct sequel to TDK....as it was stated from the get go, 8 years had passed... Should Nolan have made a passing reference to the Joker? Perhaps, then again I read a bit that said Nolan did not do it out of respect for Ledger... So take that as you will.

I think folks need to realize that TDK and TDKR are 2 seperate films. People are stating that the first part of the movie had nothing going on??? I do not know which version they were watching, however I saw the version where a larger airplane latches onto a smaller airplane. Not every movie needs to be action, action, action.... This movie was geat and a fitting end to the Christopher Nolan Batman Trilogy. Now DC can go screw it up again by doing versions similar to Batman Forever and Batman & Robin....
  9. Glad to hear a fellow player is well considering what could have happened to you. If this does not make you believe in something such as Fate or Guardian Angels I do not know what will.

As stated on other message boards about this, it is a shameful act by someone that picked his spot to do what he did. Looking at his mug shot, he has a smirk and if you really look at his eyes they look as though he may have some sort of psychological issue. Not saying that he shouldn't be held responsible, because he should, just pointing out what I saw.

Went to the 11am IMAX screening of DKR and enjoyed it. The only real draw back/complaint I have (and my room mate too) is that whenever someone would be shot (I know, I know with what happened) Nolan would usually turn away and then come back to the aftermath of what had occured.

As for how DKR was released it was only released in Standard (35mm) and IMAX (which if you can afford to...watch TDKR in IMAX, you can thank me later! ). Nolan has stated that he does not really care for the 3D format.

Oh, the most touching 'reveal' he did was with a blind artist who had helped him on a case. As she lies dying after being involved in an accident, he removes the helmet so she can feel what he looks like before she dies.

No....jeez people take some stuff WAY to seriously, it is a game people, it is not a matter of life and death.

Oh yea...Tom Jane is the friggin Punisher....end of discussion!
  15. So who is rewriting this script? Like I said in other places....it would be best just to shelve this mess of a movie and let the public conciousness forget about it and try again in a couple years.

    Bourne

So Matt Damon has given his blessing for the new film.
