    Also, the 2nd image for the 1st place costume winner is identical to the 1st image.

    Generally news/announcements seem to come pretty late in the day. Often as late as 7 or 8 PM EST (afaik).

  5. The problem with them doing a dev-lead event today or tomorrow is that they will hear untold amounts of complaints for not giving us a real heads up to players to plan for such a thing. I think Thursday is the traditional CoH announcement day though (amirite?). Totally going with the i17 announcement theory.

  9. It doubt it's as good as either SS (esp. considering the stealth bonus here) or SJ combined. Also, it sounds like the end cost is somewhat prohibitive of it's use in battle. I will have to log in to see what it is like though.

This might have been mentioned already, but EA peaks really early because the smashing/lethal defense power is so versatile, providing a full plate of defense against groups like Mooks, Goldbrickers, low-level Council, etc.. Survivability is really out of the box with that set. Ice armor can say the same thing, but with SR you really need to wait a long time to fill out AoE defense before the survivability really kicks in.

    Also, I love energy drain. I think of it as a free small green or large blue depending on what I need at the moment. I would love more powers to be as versatile.

    That isn't to say the set doesn't need any work. Mostly, I would like to see it get some additionally debuff protections (slow, end drain, etc.). Also, I have been experiencing it on a Stalker and I am concerned that Repulse adds little more than novelty to the set (though I can imagine situations in which it would be useful).

    It's probably a design no-no to shuffle the order of powers unless absolutely necessary (though I feel like they have done it before... can't think of a for-instance though). Since no ELA scrappers or tankers exist yet, it's no problem, but changing the order of powers for existing characters is probably a real pain.

  16. I can't help but wish that /earth assault had the earth embrace power (from the controller ancillary) instead of power build up. That way, the set would possess a different feel from other assault sets.
  17. On a side note:

    Personally, I would love to see CoH launched in a foreign market like India (where comic culture is closer to Western comic culture than, say Korea, where this game didn't take off) but it is probably much too late for something like that to occur.

    Nothing too new except the following juicy tidbit "Additionally, we also conducted a mini-proliferation pass on the Ancillary and Patron Power Pools, adding 5th powers to most Pools and adding Blaze Mastery for Scrappers. This has been something which people have been asking for since Fire primaries and secondary's were given to them."

    Did I get scooped on this yet or is it still news?

    I think Corebreach is right. It might enhance runspeed slow, but I don't believe it enhances recharge slow.
