Any chance the free character transfer could get extended through the double xp weekend?
I totally understand that you might not want too much load on that service, or if you would not want it being used by free re-activation users, but it might further encourage some players to pop back in and say 'hi!'! -
I would guess that Steam will be an option. Still, I also would prefer the NCstore.
I don't anticipate seeing a bunch of parceled out pre-order bonuses which vary by store as you see in some games (a la Cryptic's releases). -
Finding a good server chat channel, as suggested above, is the way to go.

I think there are some cool arcs at low levels, but they just no longer seem feasible to play since many are so long and we level so quickly now. Also, on a team it can take some trial and error to get the same contact/arc. AA WoW-esque ability to share a contact or arc would be great.
Also, it would be completely awesome if they hired one or two people whose sole responsibility was to upgrade and refine old content. Think of the CoV-specific hellions and CoT that should be heroside by now. That's not to say that villains couldn't use help too. Not to mention, make Positron TF better (though merits and exemplar exp make it more tolerable). -
Overall, some of the story stuff lately has not been too hot. I am speaking especially of those hero and villain Cimerora arcs, but there have been a lot of complaints about the Reichsman TFs as well.
Anyways, the Dr. Aeon v. Television posts have been great. If maintain that level of quality when writing for the game, then I will be pleased. -
Suddenly, the Mite Maleficus' ability to shrink on command seemed somehow less useful.

If I am a winner, I permit NC Interactive, Inc. and NCsoft Europe Limited to use my name, likeness, photograph, hometown, and any comments that I may make about myself or this contest that I provide for advertising and promotional activities. I also certify that I am at least 13 years of age and am eligible to participate in this contest. -

This month, it's Tennessee.

Hahaha...
The latest announcement on the forums is labeled, "City of Heroes: Secret..."

not what I was hoping it to be. -
WoW is really the only major MMO which has consistenty had TV ads.
I think internet ads are really the way to go for an MMO anyways, since you can click on the button and then, within a few minutes, be downloading a trial. CoH has been absent from a lot of pages lately though (inc. PennyArcade, I believe) but maybe they are saving their advertising dollars for their new product. When GR really gets rolling they'll even get reviews on major websites like IGN, where a game like CoH barely gets any press these days.
Also, have they tried to get the PA guys to do a mission architect arc yet? Those folks command an army of affluent zombies.
Anyways, I fully expect to see a news update today or t'morrow or, at worst, next week (from Ocho's post, he seemed to imply the news item could slip from this week, meaning it was probably always meant to be a late week announcement). -
The warehouse map is like going to the house of an old friend. It's familiar, welcoming, and you know right where s/he keeps the cookies.

Quote:Thanks, that is exactly what I was thinking of. I vaguely remembered that it related to the whole scabbard/backpack/quiver feature request. I guess I assume it doesn't have to do with costume options then (ie. whether gloves are chosen as a pair or individually). If you are talking about what I think you are, as I understand it one of the limits of the system are the attachment points on the character skeleton. These attachment points let the costume part be rendered at the right distance as the body shape changes scales. The temp power jetpacks, jump packs etc get around this by just being linked to the skeleton's "center of mass", which is why they are sunk into the bodies of Huge characters and will levitate next to small, slim characters without touching.
Which is why we don't have normal backpacks yet; to make them work right, they'd need to change the skeleton which is a bigger deal than just coming up with a new cape style. -

Being able to do shoulders and gloves each separately would go a long way to increasing asymetrical options. I would love to see this implemented.
I seem to remember BaB''s mentioning something about a limit to the number of pieces/costumable spots a character could (was it costume points or something?). This might make some of our suggestions more difficult than they seem.
Another thing which might be cool would be the ability to shift or rotate textures applied to a costume piece. I know this might not work with everything, but where it might be possible withing breaking things, it would be cool.
Finally, the ability to have more skin color options and to have skin colors and clothing colors match perfectly would be nice. -

Remember when the Going Rogue e-mail's started filtering out one evening, way back when? One of us, I think my brother, got his as we were on the final mission of an Imperious TF. Then a few more of us got ours just as Pinn's global channel began to buz about the topic. Then, a little later, Castle popped into one of the forum threads to do nothing more than confirm the e-mails were not fake.
That friggin' rocked. -
Quote:Right, but if they are even watching their keystrokes, we're not in for just another resistance screenshot this week.Information is easy to get wrong if the topic's in development. If they announce something, they have to be absolutely certain that what they're talking about won't change before release. Imagine, (for example) they say "Praetoria will have content from 1-25! Rejoice!". We express our opinions (excited or disappointed). Then, in a month or so, they say "Sorry guys, if we want to release on time, we won't be able to do the 20-25 content.", people would be angry. There can be quite a bit of spite on the boards when there's been a misunderstanding, not to mention if information were to be revealed as false. This is why marketing are watching their every keystroke with their hawkish eyes, and why it takes a while to prepare announcements.

Those are two of the teasing-est posts I have ever seen.
"Information" isn't hard to get "right" unless there is a LOT of it. That, or the information is being free-based into the test server in the form of code. -
I have never bought from ibuypower, but I am planning to order a system from them in the next week or so (curious what their Feb. deals are). I have heard some rumbling/complaints, but most of it seems to be with shipping issues (which were, perhaps, aggravated by the holidays). If you are willing to go into your order expecting a month wait for your system, they seem to be a good choice. Additionally, those people who have had issues with damage (and I have read those reports too), like the above poster, seem find customer support willing to help.

There was talk from herocon, i think, that if they finished up work on ultra mode, it would be released on its own before Going Rogue.
-
I could see that if ultra mode is a mini-issue like the Anniversary, that they could skip closed beta.

My first thought when you said pre-payment was base rent. Is that a weird thought?
