  1. It's like spider man and venom, dude. I mean, Venom does wanna tear spidey's throat out, but mostly because he perceived him as a villain, just like spidey thinks venom is a villain.
  2. Lookin' good, WP. I like it a lot. You'll have to start gettin' some vs. artwork done, aerial battles are cool.
  3. I am, as well. I have like ten deviations and thirty scraps. I r teh slow. Oh well.

    Here it is.
  4. Hahaha! Brilliance! I love it.
  5. I'm betting it was the dog. The dog is probably sabotaging everything. Crazy canines.

You do great work, dude. What size paper do you usually draw on?

Owwie! Geez, what the guy do? Pinch Rowr on the rear? That's some serious punishment!

lol, I dunno. He was a chauvinistic robot or something...
  8. Oooo yeah. A vigilante justice seeker willing, even eager, to use deadly force. Perhaps even a guy who, when he shows up, seems like a version of WP that's got everything figured out already. I like it a lot.

Well, kinda gettin' back on track after that trojan thing.

I present three lovely ladies of the art forums!
(Some of the lines, um, up and disappeared when I converted it to web format. I don't know why, that's never happened before. I'll see if I can't correct it.)

    Anyway...

    Wicked Angel

    Dark Lilac

This one I redid because I was not happy with the original.
    Rowr

    Enjoy!

Very nice, as always dude. Is there some trick to getting that even spread with the water colors? Or just practice really?

I can never do it very well when I play with my water colors. :P
  11. I wholeheartedly agree with Graver. I think he and I were saying very much the same thing, I just didn't put it quite so scientifically/poetically. Anyway, in that Jungian model, here's an example of one of my character/nemesis concepts.

Former scientific partners, created in the same accident, two sides of the same coin. Exosteel and Everrage. Due to the accident, they are both invulnerable, but the severely mutated parts of them have super strength, too. For the somewhat sheepish Exosteel, this is only his left arm. Everrage's entire body was mutated, but they both realize that the change was not purely cosmetic. It has created a rage, chemical and insatiable, in both of them. Exosteel, in classic hero fashion, must battle to keep his rage under control and battle the embodiment of that anger, Everrage, who in his quest for power has given himself over completely to the urge for destruction and carnage. At the same time, as people before powers or mind altering events, Exosteel was a sheepish and shy man, whereas Everrage was brimming with confidence and rather attractive. It's a relationship filled with both loathing and envy for the hero. And Everrage sees it as his duty to educate Exosteel, through pain and loss, the tools he best understands after the accident, so that they can once again be partners.

So, there's my example story. I really like the Carrion Crow name, it's syllabic reversal of White Perergrine, and it's hard alliteration. Anyway, I hope that all this is helpful and I am not just creating exorbitantly long posts that are too self-centered to help. :P

  12. That is truly spendid. I can imagine him comin' outta the sky on wings of light to do justice... and stuff. I REALLY like this piece. Well done, alex, and super gratz, WP.
  13. Well, imo, a nemesis needs to represent the things that a hero fears most in order to be effective. So what's WP afraid, that relates to him? Losing control of his powers? A deep, unattended rage within himself? Maybe losing his own identity amidst the thousands of minds he must encounter everyday? Or perhaps someone, in particular, who he has already lost, and must face in the form of a villain.

In an order meant to represent these questions, I present these villain names to you.
    Mindscream
    Everwar
    Identity Theif or Nameless
Once the lovely and faithful Golden Finch, now the merciless Tarnish

So basically, I think figure out what is hard for WP to face, and make that idea into a villain.
  14. So here's my take on Ultimate Static Thunder. A quick sketch.
  15. Well, here's my idea. Ultimate kinda (to me) implies a more realistic take on a superhero outfit than spandex. Now, I agree, I think that Static Thunder's original outfit is perfect, a la Spidey, and probably doesn't really need to be changed for what he is. Now go back, make the character young and angsty, and dress him in leather and lightning. That's pretty ultimate. Perhaps I will do a sketch of the idea in my head.
  16. Updating Champwith inks and some colors.

I hope you don't mind that I took some licenses with the colors, since there were no screenshots, Jim. Hopin' to finish this up tonight or tomorrow!
  17. Hehehe, Mind Frog cracked me up.

Sounds like an excellent plan, man.

    Can't wait!

As always, both of your WIPs are gorgeous work.

This might be a bogus thought, but if you're looking for less attention on the giant monster specifically, maybe changing the angle so the heroes are raised above him, and he's rising at them. Or skooting the monster closer to the heroes.

Ah I don't really know. I really like it as is, anyway. Can't wait to see the progress.
  20. Speedsters can be comin' up the walls too, to get them of the ground. SL is a speedster.
  21. I'm just gonna give you the name Mind Frog and see what you come up with.
