Quote:I play on a laptop (a beast of a laptop mind you but still), I have no numpad.Have you considered using keyboard to select teammates?
It can be workaround for you until (if at all) this popup box was implemented.
I'm using the following binds to select and buff teammates on my fire/kin:
ADD "powexecname Increase Density"
NUMPAD1 "teamselect 1"
NUMPAD2 "teamselect 2"
NUMPAD3 "teamselect 3"
NUMPAD4 "teamselect 4"
NUMPAD5 "teamselect 5"
NUMPAD6 "teamselect 6"
NUMPAD7 "teamselect 7"
NUMPAD8 "teamselect 8"
NUMPAD9 "targetcustomnext friend notteammate notmypet"
NUMPADENTER "powexec_name Speed Boost" -

Going to keep this thread alive.... because I've done this at least 6 times on my buffing/healing characters alone while trying to select somebody for a buff/quick heal.
Please for the love of god add a prompt option. -
Honestly, if any of the changes affect your immersion in any way, you have bigger issues.

Quote:/em sagenodI hereby throw my hat into this ring.
The color code isn't that complex (although, as mentioned, there's a few issues with alignment), but what bothers me is the fact that hey, we can now search for team leaders and pester them... so long as they're in a city zone. WHHHAAAA?
Yup. If a team's leader is inside a mission, or inside their SG/VG base, the violet (team leader of a team with fewer than 8) is overridden by yellow (can't invite because they're in a mission). If this was fixed? A lot of my issues would go away. SO, TOO, with this idea of having a "search for team" option... plug in your level range, and voila! Prefer a more specific result? Filter by team type (looking to do TFs, looking to do events, add a looking for tips type). The level range can be based on the leader (since, in fact, the team's level /is/ based on the leader), and the default team alignment can be coded accordingly. (Showing an icon works, or if it's easier or simply preferred, just replace that with a three-letter code: HRO, VLN, ROG, VIG are all pretty self-explanatory, ne? You could even toss LOY and RES on the stack, for sake of Praetorian simplicity!) -
Or a sniper rifle sniping thin--...wait...
Shotgun! *Jumps in front seat of this suggestion* -
Quote:Actually i was mostly just talking about the slow movement speed :P What IOs would you guys be talking about to negate the speed debuff so I know what to look for?If you want to stop Granite's recharge slow, you'll need lots of set bonuses.
Even then, though, knowing you'd go faster without it makes detoggling it tempting.
The recharge hit is cool with me, I can deal with that.
I've never actually bothered with IOs till today but I guess I have to now *angry fist shake at the gods*
And a random silly question... I've been away for awhile... set bonuses are active 100% of the time yes? Not just when the power is? -
Okay, so I've failed 6 times to get a stone tanker past level 20 due to the complete boringness of it. I'm going to try a brute this time even though it takes longer to get to granite...
I was thinking dual blades... what are your suggestions?
Sidenote: I don't really care about optimization. I want something that's fast pace and fun to drown out the epic boringness of stone.
Sidenote2: I've seen people talking about negating the slowing effects of rooted an granite armor, how exactly do you go about doing this? -

Quote:Well I didn't mean literally carry =PThere's nothing that will let you "bind" - much less "carry" another PC or NPC. It's one of the engine limitations that also prevents a "Grappling" type powerset.
But, I'm fresh out of ideas other than that... anybody else have ideas on captive path issues? (aside the obvious of fixing the pathing issues) -
Does anyone else have a dreadful anxiousness about avoiding kidnap missions?
I do, because escorting a person out is just not fun on so many levels.
1. Why would you just start running for the door without tying the person up or something? Really? Some person that clearly doesn't want to be captured is just going to follow you right out?
Solution: Once the mobs are cleared, allow the player to click one of a number of options such as "tie up" "Knock out and carry" "Drag by the foot" "Hold hands and skip to my lou" what have you. Then.. make that captive bound to whatever character is nearest by something such as a rope. Not only that but it would be immensely fun to drag some of these annoying captives around at the end of a rope while they ragdoll behind you. If you use any travel powers you drop the captive, so that way you'd still have to travel slowly but you wouldn't have to wait 5 minutes for a terrible pathing AI to get up a long ramp or row of stairs, you'd just drag them up.
Bottom line of this suggestion is, make kidnapping missions more fun and please do something that makes it -feel- like we're actually kidnapping somebody rather than playing follow the leader. -

(( Thanks for the fun those who whispered on the joke post XD <3 much fun was had))

Note 2: City of Heroes is not free to play.
I see ads enough as it is damnit, I don't need them in a VIDEO GAME as well.
I don't see the harm in allowing south americans to download booster packs obviously but that is an entirely different issue. -
I requested something to be done about the serch feature, and at the time I had just recently returned from a hiatus so I wasn't familiar with the colors.
I am now familiar with the meanings of the colors, and it is still thoroughly broken and often useless in my experiences.
Allow me to explain.
When players are in co-op zones, such as the Rikti War Zone and Pocket D their colors -always- show up as an ally would in blue. Let me further explain. I am putting together a team in Grandville. I see a blaster in Pocket D with the white circle "Looking for anything" next to his name. I go about messaging him asking him if he'd like to join, because hey his name is light blue and he's showing up in my search so he must be a rogue/villain right? Wrong. He was a hero and unable to join the team. Couple that with a high population of people on Virtue hanging out in Pocket D to sit alone and hope for RP or people in the rikti war zone farming vanguard merits or what have you, and you have a HUGE margin for error with this system.
What I propose is something that I think, and hope, should be very very simple. Ditch the colors, seriously. This is not a national security matter, and if you keep the colors at least add some sort of legend.
Anyway, here's the proposal. Next to each person in the search window, add a row with a tiny little picture to it. What is this picture? It's their alignment of course. Everyone, by now, should know what the icons of each looks like (And hey, what's the harm in adding a "Team Search" section to the help FAQ in-game?) so it should be very easy to understand, and shouldn't hold the same flaw of the co-op zones breaking the search feature.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!
I have a second proposal. Add a feature to the team search window that is for teams already formed. Let them select from the same exact drop down list of what they are looking for, and let them add a note for what their party is doing. Team searching could be done by levels via the level drop-down box already in place, AND it could be done by searching activities like you can when you list yourself LFG.
What this does is let people know your team is out there so they can actively find YOU as well as you finding them, rather than spamming broadcast hopelessly when there's clearly nobody else willing in your zone, but there may be people in 7 other zones that would jump at the chance to join your team. In place of the Archetype section there's a 2-8 number of how large the team currently was at the time of your search.
Don't want to be listed as a team? Select the little red circle and voila, you are simply not listed.
The colors can even stay for all I care for simplicity purposes. -
I'm a jerkess. I even named my dog ****-head.

Wait..... did you say... pop up ads?!?!?!?!?!

Quote:I'm saying the oni and defenses need to go and get new things in place *sagenod*going by that logic though, you're saying that ninjas need to be removed, along with quite a few other powersets.
I'd simply prefer to see these sets buffs and brought a bit more up to standard of newer sets.
Though honestly I wouldn't mind a full overhaul of the entire set either. -

Quote:PMed it earlier, don't know if you got it =P((I'm flattered that you guys like my art.
But just a reminder -- I don't want to get in dutch for soliciting on the boards (since this thread is a place for me -- or anyone else on Virtue -- to show their Virtue character art). I might have broken this rule a time or two myself, and if so, I apologize.
So please, if you have a request for art, do it in the form of a pm.))
I don't think anyone minds a little art appreciation -
I'm having a commission (maybe two) done on both forms of my character but I'd pay out 70 million (not a typo, just because I have a girlcrush on your Panda Monium and Tigra pieces :P ) for one of just my girl's human form.
