Bunny ears would be cool. It's a costume choice, not necessarily a lifestyle conversion, right?
I don't get why anime is getting the bad rep.. Hanna Barbera and Disney opened the furry window waaay earlier than any anime studio I can think of. There's plenty of comic tropes I dislike that can be alluded to using existing costume pieces but i wouldn't want the devs to exclude them simply to cater to me and my tired of bad writing hangups. You can always click the little arrow on the side and move along in the Costume Creator.. the problem goes away. As far as the main game goes if it takes a little furry funding to keep the servers up let me be the first to shake a paw. -

But this coming Beta has inspired me to take action and in preperation for the coming Beta I've decided to delete my porn to free up the room.
How's that for dedication?

Also, male praying mantis can't actually have sex UNTIL the female seperates the head from the body.

OMG I've learned something! This thread IS awesome! Thanks, Redmanfx!

Hehhe heh heh.. Wow. So full of spunk! I'm glad you're not so angry about it now- -I'm sure it wasn't personal.. just a guy doing his job.

Now you've just switched one type of farming for another.. it's still MA farming. Many of us have observed what that does to Positron's undies. (My eyes are still burning from reading the entirety of that fallout...)
It's still early in the effort to eliminate the offensive farms. I also anticipate the changes proposed for i15 to improve people's perception of what is actually out there in terms of missions. This problemwould have happened with or without the farms as it is a flaw in the user interface and navigation design. My guess is they didn't think it was going to be as big of a problem as it became, as quickly as it occurred for that matter. If you had the ability to choose a category that kept farms or "survival mode" maps away from storyarcs would the farms bother people as much?
I understand your desire to improve the situation but I just don't think it's the change the system needs. What needs to happen is some categorization, new MA channels for the team spam and for something new to come out to get the new car scent out of the MA so it can find it's actual equilibrium in terms of use vs abuse so the gm team can do their job on regulating content. -
I can guarantee you that if xp and rewards were removed many people would not play a player created mission, period.
I find it pointless to complain about your arcs not being played when you neglect to advertise your arc in your sig. Take advantage of what advertising you can, for free even, before complaining that the system isn't working. -
Completely agree.. this is the closest to a "pause button" this game could see in regards to keeping players entertained while meeting demand for more content, quickly in the background.

I know for print and presentations you are supposed to limit the use of color as an emphasis on words due to color blindness and i've been wondering if this has been an issue with any of the color formatting choices people are making in the MA?

I don't think a CoH 2 is needed, but I would like to see some major upgrades made to the current game. Games are like movies, sequels just don't always seem to measure up to the original.

I agree.. The foundation is sound so why get rid of it? The "Issue" system of updates is a great thing, and with the advent of costume packs and such I would rather pay along the way for new technology and features to be pushed in behind the scenes than to get a new edition and have to start from square one. -
I (mostly) soloed my fire/kin/ice to 50 and had a blast doing so. I don't think I could have without really paying attention to slotting, though. Post hot feet until imps literally flew by, then post imps I still felt like I was accomplishing at a steady pace, and as long as I wasn't too stupid rarely got in over my head. Kinetics is a great great set that really benefits a solo player.. you have a nice self heal, endurance recharge and damage bonus when you want it.
I have a mid-level Ill/ff that has also mostly soloed to 25 well but requires quite a bit of patience. So much so that I really dislike playing on teams when I've chosen to since the pace of fighting is so different. That being said if I needed to walk away or my attention went elsewhere I can pop a personal force field and be a-ok when I came back. -
I would really like to think, before investing the time and the effort into developing this aspect of the game, someone put some thought into the effect i14 would have and came to the conclusion that it was a good idea. I like it. Many other like it. Yes it has changed the game but we also have no idea what is in store for us in the next few months. Change isn't bad, but it seems a lot of people are impatient for this to be declared the end of CoX.... it's not. The playing field is just different. We'll adapt.
Personally I have noticed I am starting to get a little claustrophobic staying in the AE building for too long- -regardless of mission content. I take that as a sign of a faltering honeymoon period, and with the upcoming anniversary shenanigans maybe we'll have some new stuff to play around with outside of MA.
Besides the game isn't ever "beat" at 50.. you just have lots of cool powers. I am sure a lot of the current farmers will soon consider trying PvP or eventually come back to regular content now that they don't feel so vulnerable. -
Well how am I going to play tennis now?

Let there be no rest until we can appropriately emulate the Village People in full!!
Seriously though, many people have issue with the use and appropriation of their respective flags for recreational means. I understand if this is part of the reason that flags are not part of the current cape line up. SH costumes tend to be allusions to, not full replica of, the flag of origin as not to slight the veterans of said country.
The only way I can see an international pack being a good idea is if there was a literal ton of assorted choices as to not turn it into a game of perceived favorites. And I want a sombrero. -
-More maps and the ability to clearly set locations for bosses, objects or spawns (using a mutation of the map thumbtack element in game or just a choice for "boss spawn point a,b,c" etc.)
-Maybe even a player created mapping tool and database?
-More random items to use as mission objects to help keep in story
-More proactive customization of custom critter powers so we can add or omit powers within a set more selectively
-Improved custom group logic so we can tag critters as unique or dime a dozen for spawning purposes without having to alter their level.
-Tagged categorization for missions. Keeps the farm missions out of the way of more plot driven work, plus I would like to be able to see a good dramatic story reach the same height as a good comedy or what have you. With the current system it is difficult to find what you are in the mood for in a way that does not depend on good search-fu.
-Take it a step further and have part of the final screen let the end player recommend a genre as well and you have a nice and tidy solution to farms masquerading as any other type of mission. -
This is true.. maybe it's not a bad idea to put the security blanket away and just start from zero every now and then
-
This would be pretty cool! I find myself attached to one powerset for an AT and want to branch into other powers but not abandon my character concept.
The progression aspect may be a little wonky to implement, though. Plus there may be some conflict with the epic sets.. but still variety is a good thing! -
Testing the heck out of the maps is a huge benefit to creating missions. Some maps are a bit less than perfect in how they handle spawns but once you know the limitations of each you will be better able to create for that specific map.
The text dialogue display bit is aggravating but can be worked around on some maps. I can see how upgrades to the system in the future could address this and the other problems but for now the best thing is to build around your limitations, not against them. -
If anything I see the MA giving the devs freedom to make grand sweeping changes to a number of factions or zones. Think of it as a time capsule- -the maps, enemies and possibly ported in storylines from the regular content could be just as easily added to the fold and with a bit of categorization work on the UI could be accessed in the event of oh, let's say Recluse's ultimate victory or a successful occupation of Brickstown. I would love to see some of the sacred cows go down in an epic manner, and the MA seems to be a step in the right direction for that to happen.
As far as the leveling goes I would imagine after a bit the excitement will simmer down. Despite not having much of an endgame I think the fun of playing a 50 is alot about having all of the powers. I certainly haven't shelved mine, and see enough on the streets to know I am not alone. Throw in more zone events, maybe some cross faction raids and even *gasp* post 50 content and the fast leveling of the MA will just be background noise as we rez those who don't know their builds in the face of new content.
In the end I see no reason to question the future of the game because of one new feature. They know what they did, and I am giddy to see the next step forward. -
Not a tanker but I am seeing this on my fire/kin/ice as well... I miss my 'berg!

I like the simplicity of the current system. It makes you really narrow down your message to what matters most and avoids looking like spam- -for the most part, anyways.
I wouldn't mind having a library of concept art for some of the factions to use instead of the map loading screens, though.. just a thought. That and custom loading screen tips
