So after re-reading this, it can clearly be seen that no one is saying what you can or cannot say.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Try to grasp the context I perceived.

    [ QUOTE ]
If you don't want to answer questions, the rest of the forums is only a click away.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As I believe this to be a hoax, I'm certainly not going to answer "questions" that I think to be written for a laugh at the community's expense. I will; however, point out that I believe it to be a hoax, but your direction to the post that contained this sentence implies I shouldn't be allowed to.

    Nevertheless, apology accepted, Captain Needa.
  2. [ QUOTE ]

    No one is disputing that.
But when new players are asking questions from other players (and in the correct thread no less) we should aim to contribute to the conversation, not detract from the experience.

I know some folks who adamantly refuse to use the boards because in their opinion "The boards are useless because too many @#$%! like too chime in with crap. Theres to much crap to read through to find the good answer."

We who care about the future of this game should invest in generating a positive experience for the new arrivals.

Your First Amendment is very important. That is beyond any doubt. However, is should also be used wisely and appropriately, and not simply because its there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Excuse me, but perhaps you should look at that post you directed me to. Again. It was pretty much along the vein of telling me what I can and cannot say on a forum. That's BS. I think this is a pretty bad hoax, because clearly he knew where to go to take those screenshots, and it just "never occured to him" that he could move the round things into the round holes? There are stupid people in the world, no doubt, but when you're on the correct tab, in the correct system of manipulation, clearly you could figure out that you're supposed to be doing something with the strange round things at the bottom of the screen. It's blatantly obvious, despite what someone suggested earlier, that he did not take the screen shot while he leveled, because unslotted enhancements are not shown at the bottom when leveling and the screen he showed had that and had the EXIT button. Furthermore, the leveling screen shows the full list of power sets and pools that you are taking.

It would have been a more believable hoax if he had shown us a screenshot of him looking at the "Powers" tab and declaring that as his build. I'm just trying to save people's gullibility by casting in a reasonable shade of doubt. With all the "lol AE sux" threads we have, I have reason to be suspicious.

    [ QUOTE ]
No one's said you don't have the right to say what you want, and touting out First Amendment rights on a forum when someone disagrees with you only makes you look foolish.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Did you read the post I was "recommended" that I read? It was a very clear attempt to try and tell me what I could and could not post. That's not disagreement, that's trying to establish thoughtcrime.

    pikabko is that you?
    Sorry, just sounded familiar.

I think that the thread is a silly hoax because I'm expected to believe that he went from level six to level fifty (based on the OP's post history) in less than 48 hours, which I do not.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Believe it.
FYI, people could go from 1 to 50 in less than two days before we had AE or double XP weekends. With AE, people were going from 1 to 50 in a couple of hours before the toonsmackage. I see no reason to doubt that a random player could do it in two full days currently.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I believe it's a silly hoax simply because he didn't realize that the round things went into the round holes when he's clearly smart enough to click on the "Enhancement" tab and hit "Manage."

    [/ QUOTE ]
Scythus, DJKyo had written something back about 13 posts. Perhaps you'd like to read it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well pardon me for being skeptical. The First Amendment gives me the right to voice that.

Hi, welcome to the human race. You must be new here to have that much faith in it...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually I have very little faith in it, but less so in its honesty than its intelligence.

Tornado wipes out the AE building in Atlas Park... and a Nuclear Explosion wipes out the AE building in Mercy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Technically the AE activity Redside is in Cap au Diable.
  7. I hate farmers.

    ....And tarts.
  8. Scythus

    Remove AE!

    [ QUOTE ]
I love that we get to pretend that it's the AE's fault that there are some newbies that don't know what they're doing. As if my entire playing experience hasn't been filled with these people.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, I never specifically blamed AE. I blamed Nemesis and farmers. I do intend to eventually write a few interesting story arcs using the system. Whether people will play them as intended, or somehow find a way to farm them remains to be seen. I certainly hope they make the wiser decision.
  9. Scythus

    Remove AE!

The farmers are annoying. I've learned very quickly that AE Team = Farm. Just today I was pulled into one (naively hoping it was a legitimate team), but no no no no. XP was given out like candy, and I didn't have to work for it. So quickly I attacked one of the big purple conning monsters, got my [censored] kicked, and then left the team. Only once have I been pulled on a legitimate AE old-fashioned style team, and that was with friends. The rest have been farms in sheep's invitations.

IT'S ALL A NEMESIS PLOT! Clearly he wants to keep potential threats out of the way by distracting them with virtual simulations.

I have to admire the honesty of those who ask you to farm up front. Of course I say no to those, with witty replies concerning cow pies.
  10. Scythus

    8 MMs on a team?

Multiple MM teams are awesome. Just awesome. It's like a friggin' army.
  11. Considering that of all the alts I've established, my villains are the only characters who've passed level 20 should tell you which side I play more frequently. I'm partial to Red. There's just something about running through West Indian towns and slums that lends something to strong flavor. I have had to solo most of the time, as I too have found very scarce pickings to team with. And I love teaming. It heightens the social experience when you're playing the game with someone else.

Look me up. I've managed to cram all of my villains into my sig down there.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
When a player is in phase, they can still lay down traps like caltrops, acid mortar, etc. that effect others?

I thought if a player is phased that they are out of sync with reality, so how is it possible then for these items to effect another player before the person laying the traps unphases?

By effect I mean cause damage, hold or slow. I've always wondered this, just never bothered to ask before now.

    Anyone have an explaination?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Concept wise, you could argue that once the object (calitrops, mortar, etc) leaves the players 'phase field' (for lack of a better word), ie thrown or layed down, they phase back into normal reality, but before the players uses them, they are phased with him.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I second this explanation, as I was going to offer it myself before I noticed your post. It's like things being dropped by an invisible character becoming visible again in common fiction all the time.

I was gonna say, "because you don't chat enough?"

I like to think I chat quite a bit. Otherwise, I'm hallucinating about typing things again.

    Drones go BOOM

    [ QUOTE ]
While killing rikti i noticed that the drones keep on blowing up when you kill them Its so I love when i kill a huge mob of them fun stuff Any one know when they will fix this by the way?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh hey yeah. I saw this just a couple days ago. The entire team was like "wtf?" It's a rather awesome bug, I think. They should keep it that way.
  15. Huh... how come I've never seen this?
  16. [ QUOTE ]
    /em grief

/because there is yet to be an /em facepalm

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh how I wish there was....

Anyway, I use the cell phone and the newspaper emotes a lot. The various emotion emotes are good too.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
No, I'm pretty sure that he's absolutely right. If you're struggling, it's not your powerset. Try different tactics, use more/different insps, whatever it takes.

Also, you keep slinging this contrariness thing around. It's not contrariness when your experience stands alone against the experience of many others. It's an indication that you are doing something wrong, especially in an environment so predictable as this game. If most folks have no issues with dark/dark, and you do, that means it's not them mucking it up.

edit: if my "weakest" defenders (ff/rad and emp/arch) can solo EBs, then for the love of pete, any corruptor can.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's almost as if you're deliberately trying to misunderstand few EBs as ALL EBs. I should slap you.
  18. I'd say you're just being contrary to be contrary.
  19. Scythus

    THEY. FIXED. IT.

It's nice to see this feature fixed. I take a lot of pride in writing my character bios.
  20. You think I'm ignorant of my debuffs? I use them frequently. It still doesn't work 100% of the time. 95% yeah, but not always.
  21. I usually use two at a time for the tougher EBs, saving the other two for immediately after. You people are correct in the fact that it's not hard to beat an EB most of the time, but EBs are not all equal when considering these problem cases.

I had no problem, for example, on staying alive with Spinnerrette, it's just that she had no problem staying alive either. It was a deadlock.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
And you clearly never fought Spinnerette. She heals up as quickly as you damage her.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have. Many times. With two brutes, a soldier, a widow, and a dom. Won every time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Try it on a corruptor, then. It was absurdly ridiculous seeing the damage I just dealt instantly heal.

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
    Not soloable in the least.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not sure why you believe this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Personal experience. Clearly.

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Kadabra Kill is even worse, because he does the same constant healing while planting binds on you while he and his godawful singularity can hit you with impunity. You can only carry so many break free inspirations before realizing you need backup when facing that terror.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm sorry, but simply put you need to learn to play better if you can't beat these NPCs as EBs solo.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And I think you need to be less contrary for contrarian's sake.
