im working on an AV killer. currently he has capped defense with a few poor choices for slotting.. can anyone help out? Im looking to possibly bring hover into this build.. so i may lose the leadership tree. not really a big deal as long as i can keep my ranged defense. Also i would like to have perma heat loss. Thanks for any help.

I'M an illusion/cold controller with capped range and capped s/l currently. I have been thinking of improving my build by changing my epic from cold to fire. I wasn't positive if switching from the defense to the resistance shield would be better.

If I have capped range defense would it be smarter to go with resistance type epic shield instead of defense to s/l?

Ok, thanks... I thought I read somewhere that accelerate metabolism increased phantom army but now I can't find it. So my thinking was that soul drain would work too.. It must have been wishfull thinking.

im thinking of making a sonic/cold for av/gm killing. I have an illusion/cold controller and its very capable of killing gm's. my only concern is having a gm/av focusing its attention solely on my character. I know i will need capped defense.. probably ranged.. and im pretty sure i will need medicine... any other advice you think i will need?

Seriously though, Ill/Cold is a great combo but if you are run it and say you have no problem setting up Containment I'm calling shenanigans. They can also do okay AoE but are a bit slow. They are no Plant, Fire or Mind. -

Most TFs missions tend to consist of a large groups of enemies + an AV or 2 at the end. Ill/Cold is neat against the AV part not so good against the large groups. -
I fight +2x8 solo pretty easy. I kill gm and av's pretty easy too. I'm not the fastest farmer for sure but I can solo almost all content. I have a fully IO'd Ill/rad and I must say that I personally love my ill/cold more. I take down big groups faster and single targets even faster. I have capped defense to s/l and ranged and I'm only 1 second off from perma PA. once i19 goes live I won't worry about that anymore.

im not sure what the problem was but i died and came back to the same mission and they just started summoning like crazy... it did seem to be on a timer after it lined itself out.
ive got the badge now, thx for the help. -
I'm using my illusion/cold controller who is now a villain. I just cast phantom army on the MI and dismiss two of the phantom army so I won't kill the MI too quick. Last night the MI summoned one dark servant... Then about 5 minutes later summoned another dark servant... This bage is gonna take a ton of patience I guess.

I've read a couple post on it and it seems the general consensus is to farm the same MI's and wait for them to summon their pets. I waited a good ten minutes for a couple of them to summon their pets and they never summoned them. Is there a general time frame or anything on these summons? Eventually I just killed them without trying. Any help or other tactics appreciated.

Beat my first two GM's. Jack in chains, and the pumpkin head one. Had no problems with either. I still need a couple more pvp enhancements, mainly for the extra damage. Can't wait! Sooooo expensive though.

Well I'm absolutely murdering +1x8 groups and archvillains. I changed a few things in the build and I'm not fully slotted, but it's amazing so far!

i have 2 slots left.
i wanted hover and fly in my build. so i removed the shields.
removed tactics and picked up flash(im hoping that that will also help keep the enemy stuck in the ice storm/sleet combination).
picked up group invisibility. I still have capped s/l and ranged defense while group invisibility is suppressed.
picked up a little bit more recharge but still not enough to get perma pa (about 2.5 seconds off). I think that will be my main priority when i next get a chance to mull over the build. about to head off to work.

I'm having a hard time improving your build, enots. I'm hoping to drop the shields and find a better use for the slots in your boxing skill. No luck as of yet.

I always fight at +1x8 difficulty, so capped range and s/l as on this Ill/cold build would be great. I guess I could do the same on my ill/rad but I haven't tried cold domination yet. On paper it looks amazing!
Can anyone compare an ill/cold to an ill/rad? I guess I might miss my heal a little bit, but with capped ranged defense I won't need it as much.. -
I've decided to build my own Ill/cold so I can decide which I like better, ill/rad or ill/cold. My ill/rad is pretty amazing but has basically zero defense. We'll see.

Do you lose your toggles when you hibernate?
And one other question, how would you compare cold domination to radiation? I've never tried cold but my perma pa ill/rad is pretty effective against av's and gm's. -
I'm thinking I'll take tough and weave for my extra powers. Ideas?
