For OP and Ultimus, Virtue's cons can be pretty well avoided if you stay out of Pocket D. Even if you're into RP. Everywhere else is pretty good about forming up teams. Always a sewer trial in Atlas Park, always an incarnate trial in Dark Astoria. And PuG teams form regularly, both RP and non.
So last night i logged on with my 34 WS on Virtue and set my LFT flag to any and was discussing what was going on in a couple global channels and within two or three minutes received an invite to a team running assorted level 28 story arc missions. Now this wasn't really an RP team, just a group of players throwing themselves at groups of purple and red mobs. Entertaining despite the occasional teamwipe and everyone had fun. Well, except the Tanker who was apparently upset at not being the essential unique lynchpin snowflake. Seriously, they were doing a fine job managing aggro and helping take down enemies, but they logged off because they weren't "needed". Which prompted some facepalming and discussion afterwards since several us pointed out that no single player on the team was needed; we had a mix of ATs with overlapping roles.

    But i digress...

In my experience you have to seek out an RP team in order to find one on Virtue. Most teams are just players running missions where anywhere from none to most teammates tend to chat in character while doing the mission. To find a team that stands around RPing instead of blowing stuff up generally requires a conscious effort. Some of the the more pretentious, cliquish RPers could possibly be annoying to interact with, but generally you have to go looking for them, they won't be seeking you.

Catgirls... aren't nearly as common as xX DarKdeatHlord Xx types with bios that say "Is the strongest their is!" on Virtue. Actually catgirls aren't all that common on any server, but i think that probably GG's pet allergies and/or aversion to felines make it seem more common to her.

Exactly this. If you have enough tokens to have global channels unlocked i'd suggest looking in the forum section for whichever server you plan to play on to see what global channels are used by players for that server.

If you can't immediately find a list there's always asking in the Player Questions section. It usually doesn't take someone long to respond.

Possibly. At level 15 or below you can regain the lost levels within a couple hours of playing if you do several Death From Below runs. i've occasionally deleted and restarted characters in their thirties to use a combination i liked more. The first twenty levels or so tend to fly by very quickly if you find a good team.

Agreed. Usually when someone's account is compromised it's because someone they know found out their login info somehow.
  5. i've pretty much experienced scrapperlock with every AT at one time or another, usually due to necessity when most of the team was wiped, but my favorite is still the time i was on a Sister Psyche TF shortly after Claws and Super Reflexes were buffed. Of course i had immediately created a Claws/SR Scrapper, and i was making my way through all the TFs and Trials in order as i reached the appropriate level ranges.

So we were on the second train mission that has the city map full of large groups of Freaks. We were fighting our way through a group near the entrance someone launched an AoE into a nearby spawn and then ran into a third spawn trying to avoid the retaliation. Very quickly all of the team but the Tanker and my Scrapper dropped as Freaks kept rushing in. Shortly after that the Tanker dropped with teammates typing "Run!" At that point Scrapperlock had set in so i just shrugged and kept chewing through the Freak hordes. A teammate on the ground kept passing me inspirations as most of the team was heading back from the hospital, and between that and my own drops i kept grinding away. By the time the team had regrouped all the Freaks in that area had been defeated. After some chatter about how impressive the fight was we continued on and eventually finished.

For me Scrapperlock usually sets in when i see a teammate in trouble and go to help them. Rarely do i go off looking for trouble all alone.

i would suggest contacting support at https://support.cityofheroes.com/.

i'm guessing that you're not a subscriber based on the white name color, otherwise i'd suggest sending a petition in game as well since in game petitions are not available to Premium and Free players.

*sigh* i know. It's a bad habit, or at least something i've been more prone to lately as a reaction to ongoing things completely unrelated to CoH.

And yes, the naming is somewhat "dorky" (or at least counter-intuitive for most). Some of the reasons for the current implementation were covered already by some of the red name types the past week if anyone wants to browse the Community Digest.

That being one of the reasons since the Freebie Friday trial run is not automated.

While this week's freebie is something i already have plenty of, much like the previous freebie, i do like the idea of free stuff and won't complain about getting anything for free even if i have no pressing need for it. Seeing as they're easy to replace if i decide i want more i also won't hesitate to use the freebies just for the heck of it.

    Only in your time zone.
Freebie Friday is based on GMT, not your local time. See, funny thing is that the game is accessible globally, and there's no way to have it automatically detect what time zone someone is located in whenever they log in, so they went with the default time zone for the whole planet. The world is much, much bigger than the town/county/principality/district you live in after all. Neat, huh?

    1. Empathy is not just "healer"-ing, despite how some want to play it. It's made powerful by its buffs.

    2. Empathy (and pain domination) give *guaranteed* heals. No to-hit check, no need for an enemy, no need for you to be in melee range (as you have both a PBAOE and ranged ST heal choices) - but they pay for it by having them not be as powerful (minus Absorb Pain, which gives you a debuff to "pay" for the heal.) There are times that's more important.

    3. It also pays for the guaranteed buffs by having no *de*buff capability (slightly different from pain domination.)

A focus isn't bad. Playing it as just part of that focus (the "h34l0rz" who rock the aura and take the medicine pool while ignoring attacks and buffs) is bad.
Exactly. On smaller teams Empathy's buffs can turn the rest of the team into a nigh-unstoppable juggernaut. On larger teams the buffs tend to get allocated to those who need them most. Empathy's single target buffs are very powerful, but tend to have long timers compared to their durations, so it's hard to maintain some of them on more than half of a large team. The AoE buffs are on even longer timers.

The biggest issue with Empathy's buffs in my opinion is more to do with how most players time using them. Many Empaths tend to insist the team huddle up whenever the AoE buffs are up regardless of whether there are any enemies in the area. Most times i find the buffs are more useful if they're held back until there's an actual use for them, not used whenever they happen to be recharged.

Now, if you say the minimum is B (and in discussing this slider, I find many think the minimum is a large B) then really what the slider doesn't show is A and less.

    So either way, it's REALISTIC.

But you also missed the part where I said, I want the option to go smaller. So I was never against the idea. But using the term realistic to try to get something, when it is realistic were it's at, is meh in use.
But i still want better robotic/tech options for digitigrade feet and legs.

Anyway, I sorta doubt we'll get lots of new stuff and probably won't pull out much of the old stuff due to licensing...but that's alright. As nostalgic as it was, Toonami was just like current Adult Swim's anime reruns...it played what they had over and over too. They mixed it up, sure, but in their 10ish year run, it's not like their list of what they showed was all that extensive.

That said, I sorta hope Adult Swim doesn't copy the old Toonami formula. Instead, why not do what they did during April Fools and sort of 'advertise' anime. Pull 2-3 episodes from a lot of source anime and show those as a kind of introduction to the show then have Tom talk about the animators, publishers, the DVDs and manga and purchasing them.

Stamp, ship and do a different anime (maybe doing 2 anime so 6 episodes per showing). When you have enough episodes to form a 'season', repeat in a rotation then pick new anime for the next season.

But this hinges on the hopes that it's *much* cheaper to license a set of 2 or 3 episodes from several series vs 1 whole series. If not, then that idea is :sadfaced:
    i rather like this suggestion.

More so when C makes up the largest percentage (in america) today. Sooo...realistically, minimum slider is realistic as it's the average, which you were saying it wasn't.
So it's realistic to have the average as the absolute minimum? That sounds odd to me. If the waist slider started at the American average and only went up from there we'd have City of Waddlers and Walruses or maybe City of the Blob. (The latter possibly getting Marvel's boxers in a bunch again.)

But, again, does Dink even have a hand in that part of the character creator? I was under the impression that Dink was strictly involved with the outfits, not the body scales, and so the suggestion seems more apt for a different thread.
Totally agreed, but it was an interesting digression even if it is admittedly mostly off topic, as was the digression into base woes.

On the current topic/focus i don't see the female armored top versions as being especially bad or odd looking. To me they mostly look like what i would expect heavy armor to look like on a female.

As far as art assets go the monstrous/digitigrade legs could really use some love. As in adding some tech/robotic feet that are adapted from any of the sets that came out since the category was added to the game. Basically anything that doesn't look like the current horribly clunky robotic feet. A monstrous version of the Clockwork or Cyborg legs would also be good. i was so hoping the Mecha set would have something for the digitigrades, but it was not to be.

Really there isn't a problem per se. It will pretty much cater to nostalgic fans of the old Toonami. Now it's true that back when those series were first shown Toonami was the first place you would've been able to see most of them if you weren't a hardcore anime fan, so the new Toonami will be more like the Echo of Galaxy City: a place you might visit out of nostalgia or to see how things used to be, but not a place to find anything new.

Which is just fine since now i can now watch many anime series online within about a week of them first airing in Japan anyway.

And third, chill the **** out. It's Toonami. That, by default, is good. Crazy fan rants like these usually lead to why we can't have nice things.
While that may be true, it does look like what they're doing is rebranding their normal Saturday lineup and swapping in a few rather old series along with the addition of Durarara, which may have already been in the pipeline for the Saturday block. Add some Tom bumpers and POOF, Toonami is back! Using nostalgia to bring back some fans of an old show while saving money by reusing old series is brilliant from a marketing and profitability standpoint.
