Got a duo already so looking for a third person to join for at least a couple of nights a week.

Ok here's another in my Trio of Doom ideas and I'd welcome your input

The basic concept is simple and I'd achieved most goals already but there's a twist: 3 Trollers to start from the ground up as a team and go through all the TFs and SFs (cuz we can now ) but... where possible teh trio will do "Master of" runs... No temps, no deaths you know the drill.

So far we've got 2 of us and are looking for a regular 3rd (on Defiant if anyone here cares to put in for it) and I'm thinking something like earth/sonic & fire/rad and maybe an Ice/something...

But if you were a lunatic like us, what would you bring to the table?

Edited to add that I chose controllers for having a good combo of holds and de/buffs with the potential for pets to take alphas if needed. Some might suggest Defenders or the need for a tank but that's not the point of this exercise tho I can probably see the reasoning for suggesting that.

Like many others I've bought everything that has been offered since I started the game but frankly this is just pure fluff.

There is no substance to it and therefore it fails.

The worst thing here seems to me that plenty of people told NC that and they didn't listen. Nobody hates the pack for what it is, but as it stands it's way over-priced.

Add in maybe a short term booster power and/or some costume items and you'd have a pack that would be lauded with a much more favourable response and consequent sales.

What is different to me is this pack is getting a very unusually negative reception and not just from the usual suspects.

I think I realise what the problem is:

Your toon doesn't actually look like a hero. So when the guy is in the Zig and all the Hellions are bragging "I'm here cuz of Statesman" or "I'm here cuz of Scarlet Shocker," your guy will be sitting off to one side saying "Wtf? Why couldn't I have been brought in by a real cape?"

I still think Mark Grunewald (and JMS' subsequent reimagining) had it about right and I seriously think that could well be the inspiration for Praetoria.

Anyone up for it?

For what it's worth, the one piece of advice I can really offer is that I usually don't slot TOs unless they fall randomly... unless I'm on a tough team or a big mission or the like and not having powers slotted at around lvl 12 doesn't really make much difference to slotting. It's not something I'd be missing put it that way.

Once you get into DO/SO territory things change of course but hopefully you'll have had a few good SO drops especially if you run a TF or 2 from lvl 10

I like PVP in this game.

I liked it pre-I13, and I still like it now. It mostly works fine for me as a casual "pick up a match when I feel like it" kind of thing.

Sure, things could be done to improve it but I personally feel the devs are managing the game pretty well thus far. Going Rogue is excellent and contains great content and the End Game stuff just around the corner is of a far higher priority to most players than PVP.

Enjoying it a lot so far but a bit end heavy pre-fitness. I am liking how flash arrow and smoke are stacking too - specially with stealth

I have an Earth/Thermal at 50 and a Plant/Thorns dom at 50 too... (and some others too) but I like going for the unusual combos.

I may be speaking sacrilege here, but I dislike kin as a powerset. I have a kin defender and I think it was the constant "SBplx" that really got to me like it's an effing one trick pony. I've got another kin troller I'm working on now and frankly I'm not sure I like that at 34 odd.

I've also got a 50 Illusion/Sonic that I'm only slowly warming to and I love my Mind/Storm...

but from this you'll get an idea of where I'm at. Quirky and effective and unusual are where I'm often at.

The reason for trying this is I've very limited experience of fire and none whatsoever of TA, after 4.5 years of playing - I have a nice Ice/Rad that's coming along and a rad/rad crupper that I've retired.

Sounds like this has some interesting potential.

One reason for experimenting is I'm hoping to do one of my mad trio things again and run a trio of controllers from 1-50 through every TF/SF in the game and this seems like it may have some use in that regard.

We'll get what we're given and bloody well like it!
