Well someone at AMD likes CoH enough...
Nice splash screen with the game on it! Good to see AMD one step ahead of the competition as ever
Thelonious Monk
That's some nice looking tech right there, and nice results too.
Cool. If they're using a game that's six years old to benchmark current technology, then something has clearly gone right for us here

Wasn't it said that the 'High Ultra' end of Ultra mode was actually nigh un-runnable even on the top end PCs of today? And that they'd put in stuff for next-gen cards? I may be mis-remembering, but I'd swear it was said somewhere.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

*wonders why everyone is looking at Sai with suspicious eyes*
You're misremembering, my rig can play Ultra mode maxed out with decent FPS just about everywhere.

Or Incarnate Ultra Mode!
Cool! Nice find.
There's a slash command
On:
/showfps 1
Off:
/showfps 0

There is /visscale for draw distance as I recall. Other forum(ite)s probably have more.
I do not suffer from altitis, I enjoy every character of it.

Yeah, unless otherwise specified, commands which take a variable will just dump the variable they have at the moment when invoked without any parameters. Things like /netgraph, /showfps, /forward, /autorun and so forth do that. Certain commands have unique messages in those instances, such as "This command takes 1 parameters, you gave 0 parameters. Try /command <parameter> instead."

Here's another article on it. Looks like they are running FRAP or similar tool for displaying frame rate in the upper left.

My old machine ran at those settings. It was 7+ years old. I got about 24-30 fps except during invasions and raids, where I would crater and even CTD in worst cases. I know the CPU/GPU hybrids are supposed to be the next wave and good for CoX exposure and all, but man that's kinda unimpressive the performance they are getting out of it.
But I suppose if this makes its way to a $250 or $300 laptop, that performance ain't half bad. And I've read--can't recall where, maybe at Tom's--that's the target market for these types of CPUs eventually. Versatile laptops for console and upper end mobile device prices.
Update on the AnandTech article. They got Intel's graphics to improve in the IE9/HTML5 benchmarks by strong arming an updated driver onto the Intel based laptop.
However game performance is still better, just not by a factor of 2x.
