Probably not beause that's a step too far IMO

Cure Lost/Rescue Percy.
ON EVERY CHARACTER. Why why WHY must I do this mission on any char I ever want to run the ITF or Cim mishs on?
Yeps... and arguably that's way less significant than the abilty to unlock the Alpha slot and send it to yourself.
I loathe and detest having to run that whole lost thing on every toon. -
Qucik additional thought re-troller debuffers: What's the best patron pool? I've got a strong suspicion that I should go red-side
Any views? -

Also great to see a comp that is open to the EU too -
Quote:One other advantage of a second single target hold . . . you can use it as a IO set holder. It's not quite a "mule" since the power has some uses, but close. If you are slotting for Recharge, it is another place for a Baz Gaze set. You can get Ranged Defense from it as well.
On any controller combo that has a second single target hold, I find that I usually take that hold leveling up (before I have a lot of recharge), but then drop it with my final build unless I need it to hold an IO set. The points made above are valid that the power can be skipped once you have enough Recharge in your build, and the controller primary single target hold is better.
Good point as well... I would normally have thought of that for myself I suspect but being DXP weekend don't get time at this stage lol -
Thanks people some useful info.
My thoughts are generally that at lvl 50, with either hasten or enough recharge, on a reasonable team, even if I'm the only controller, my primary ST hold and my Area hold should be enough. If the attach chain goes: Debuff Defence, ST Hold, Area Hold, ST Hold again and the mob is still tring to introduce my face to his fist, I really shouldn't be hanging with him should I? A further hold might not work anyhow... I mean, many mobs just ain't gonna get held, period. It seems reasonable to say that any additional benefit of a second ST hold would be greatly outweighed by being unable to take an alternate power. -
Is there any way to check the effectiveness of single target holds for controllers?
My DC/Poison is offered 2, Dark Grasp at T2 and then Paralytic Poison at T7
It seems to me that two ST Holds is unnecessary, but one solid one is a good thing. Often a combo of sets can offer two... so the real question is... which is best and by how much?
Are primaries all the same or do they vary? Same question to secondaries and how do primary and seocndary holds compare?
I looked on the Cohtitan wiki and can't see much there. Any thoughts/suggestion? -
Theme is up for debate. I'm happy with anything, but Dark could work well cuz there's a dark set across the board now for every AT I believe.
Once we got something formed we can decide on theme.
Add me @Riffster if you want to catch me in game -
Anything we fancy peoples?
I'm free most of the weekend and I have it on good authority there's a potential returner gonna grace us with their presence this weekend too.
I've got several new toons, red and blue that can be brought to the party to make the most of the DXP.
I had thought that if we decided to plan some builds out by level 40 we could run some Shadow Shard TFs at high difficulty to make sure of oodles of yummy XP - but so long as I get some good XP on some fo my lowbie toons I'm up for anything.
Suggestions welcome! -
Nemorin you'd be welcome to join us on Defiant. Sunday's a very good night (local time) invariably there are plenty of things going on, usually kicking off with a Mothership Raid and a lot of other activities
LSK I've just made several dark toons so I'd be well up for that theme. (See my "Ultimate Debuffer" thread for more info!) But yeah I'd be more than happy for "Defiant Darkness" to rule the Rogue Isles (something different doing it redside I figure) -
Just to recap from this, I've taken some good info from this thread and tried a few new combos including (so far... there may be more):
A dark/rad defender
A traps/dp defender
A dark/poison troller
A cold/sonic defender
So far they are all pretty low level but I hope to get one or more of them pretty high over DXP weekend - although I suspect it will be #1 and #3 -
Quote:I have a good Huntsman - I solo'd the ITF with him then rebuilt him to be betterfasterstronger but he's still not what I would consider "ultimate." But then again, he's not been designed in that role; his main task is survivability, whilst he and his pets produce a sea of orange numbers which he does very effectively. I've taken minimal bane powers though trying to keep him very much in the SoA mould. If you are going to mention a SoA you'd actually be better off with huntsman/bane than spider. You get an extra -20% res from surveillance. And go with Mace mastery for shatter armor for better numbers and better uptime than arctic breath. Add in venom grenade and some Archilles heel procs and you'll be hitting -80% res pretty easy against a hard target along with all the team buffs.
No -regen though so there are better things, it'd be very good, but not "ultimate" either way. Love my huntsman though and they bring a lot to a team. -
Quote:You may want to double check the secondary numbers (what I listed was for the initial target; the surrounding targets are affected at reduced effect)
Also, I'm not well versed on Secondary Effect debuffing (and I could be mistaken) but it looks like it does some additional major league chopping to Def (base or buff; I'm not sure).
When you mean "Secondary Effect" am I right in thinking you're talking about those close to the actual target, maybe affected by an AoE effect? -
The answer's in this thread already. Kings Row doesn't need a huge amount of Dev time... it needs the zone equivalent of a lick of paint and some new soft furnishings, which translates to a few new textures and a cool zone arc and we're there.

Quote:Dark/Poison/(Mace or Primal) Controller is looking really interesting.
Unslotted:
Venomous Gas + Weaken = -32.5% ToHit; -45% Dmg (+Secondary Effect debuffs)
Venomous Gas + Envenom = -40% Def; -48.75% Resis
N.Breath = -81.75% Recharge
Dark/ would top off any -ToHit plus:
Shadow Field + Poison Trap
Massive Fear/Terrorize
Pet Aggro Distraction x3
Mace would add another -18.75% to ST Resis (-67.50% approx ST Resis), -20% Def (-60% ST Def) and S/L/E Def on top of any ToHit debuffs you're using as protection.
Primal has Power Boost,. ...and a base 30% S/L resis to add to your -Dmg protection.
Then, you calculate in your slotting, any set bonuses and/or procs.
Void Judgement (-50% Dmg)
Paralytic or Gravitic Interface
Clarion Destiny
Storm Elemental Lore
OOOH!!!! I really like how you're thinking here Yogi...
I must make one! -

Quote:I would go with Zombie Man's Dark/?? defender suggestion but I would add in the caveat that you could take DP as your secondary, use Chemical Ammo, and further increase the -Damage you can put out.
If you don't mind giving up a few set bonuses you can slot a Dark/DP with more procs than any other character and either increase your personal damage output or mitigating effects or debuffs (Achilles heel can go in empty clips, Ragnarok chance for KD can go in Bullet Rain). You can also tailor your interface to what ever you feel is lacking.
I'm just looking a that too... Zombie's dark misma is interesting. I was leaning towards a DM/Rad fender... I'm thinking that Rad will allow me to eat through defence and then leave Dark Miasma to just swallow all his other stats - but your notion of DM/DP is interesting. Wouldn't it make a better corruptor to eak out some extra damage? -
Ok tried posting this three times and I've failed every time. Let's hope it works this time
I've run 2 traps toons, one a traps/sonic defender - got him to 50, and a rad/traps crupper to 49. Both got consigned to the alt-bin in the sky. Just couldn't get on with either of them.
I also had one MM at 50 but he's gone the same way - that was a thugs/poison before /poison got a makeover.
I'm not sure why I don't like traps but I've never found it very effective but somebody earlier in the thread suggested Dual Pistols and that might have some synergy with traps - so I've made a DP/Traps crupper just for the fun of it. Don't know how it'll do, but could be interesting. -
Well at least Defiant leads the way in one part of this game. We were crashy last night too!
