It tends to vary.
My own experience is that it's easier to make infamy than influence and the items in the AH will vary depending on demand but general rule of thumb is that rare magic salvage costs more. -

Slightly unusual that they're giving it on the same day as I14 comes out; they normally leave a few day's gap so people can't waste it before they get a feel for what actually needs changing.

Not respec'd since dual builds, but wouldn't any character affected by changes possibly need 2 respecs to sort out both their builds?
If so, isn't it about time that the freespec limit rises to 2 (in hand at any one time) and that they grant them in pairs?
[/ QUOTE ]
IIRC they have given an immediate respec for the new issue then one a week or so later after the patches etc - Non-stackable as usual.
Also as I understand things you get one respec per character rather than per build. In other words, you get a freespec on each build. -
Sign me up with the following choice:
Scarlet Stinger: Plant/Thorns Dom
Scarlet Sinner: Rad/Rad Crupper -

Mystery: Mystery is a bad thing, as it means the player doesn't know what to do. An example of a bad, "mysterious" quest would be, "Somethings wrong in the forest, go figure it out." When players aren't clear on what to do, they become confused, and that provides for a bad game experience.

Don't agree with this. I would love to see more open, smarts based quests in MMOs, indstead of the go here do that quests that treat the player like a moron. This kind of stuff is a staple of games like Baldur's Gate and Mass Effect.

Without putting words in the author's mouth, I can see where he's coming from. A bit of mystery is a good thing - but from a starting point where you know where you can watch the story unfold. But being left to your own devices and wander around in the hope you'll stumble on some kind of clue is very bad. -

What Mumsie said! Have a great one! -
I found this article on GDC where former lead designer Jeffrey Kaplan spoke about some of the mistakes they made in WoW and it's mission design.
I'm not especially bothered by WoW - but reading it I was struck by how much of this is common sense and will make great advice for anyone planning on an designing their own MA missions. Some of it's pretty good advice, so I figured it's worth sharing here.
Enjoy -

Be nice if the button had a nice big bright red skull and crossbones though, it looks just like any other to me and once hit you're committed.

Yeps agree with this -

And the second part Scarlet_Shocker...
Nice if... 50% initial, 50% detonation damage to mobs?

Still doesn't work for me I'm afraid.
If you're defeated, you're defeated. If you didn't hit the button before you get the cap in your backside then they got away with it.
Maybe you need to work on some kind of macro so that if your health drops to say 5hp, your Self-Destruct is activated -
Not sure. I think I'd certainly feel aggrieved if my opponents did it to me. It's bad enough with Freakshow rezzing after defeat!
I think if you're unlucky enough to be defeated then your defeater should be able to walk away by dint of the fact that he's better than you.
The only way I'd really agree to this is that if the player who triggered the Self-Destruct suffered some kind of penalty - for example a big surge of debt or a maybe a travel power supression for 2 hours of game time. -
Maybe it's a bug relating to powers not detoggling when mezzed
Petition maybe? -

The animations are fixed in issue 14.

Will that include the extreme rooting on the Nemesis Staff? -
I can't remember an issue since I've been in game that didn't have cossie pieces.
I'd be rather surprised if there was nothing in I14 -
I think I'll go with Thunderspark's theory
No leaks = no testers
I reckon I14 will probably hit about Xmas 2010 -

Patrol XP is basically "negative debt" so when the two meet each other they cancel each other out.
Thus when you die, your debt actually removes some of your patrol XP. If you log out with debt, your debt will be cancelled as you earn Patrol XP.

shouldn't they explode? -

It also seems to pay off Debt somehow, but I haven't really focused enough on how exactly this works.

So far as I can tell you don't get debt if defeated while you have Patrol XP -
Guys some exciting news.
DtWT has relaunched, and I know many of you are going to be really happy about this.
I've been in contact with Andrew Wildman who told me they've got a new website: http://drawtheworldtogether.ning.com/ and will be at the Bristol Comic Expo.
Do check their site out and give them your support - it's a great cause and you guys love the work they produce that's on your walls
If you're going to Bristol they'll be glad to see you I know. -
The problem with NCSoft making any of the signature characters is threefold:
A) NCsoft needs to learn how to do marketing.
B) If they produce a range of characters every player will start grizzling that they want their character made. It could become far harder to manage than it is profitable.
C) Whilst it's possible to get quality statuary, to get custom work done is very difficult and often the quality is disappointing. It's one thing paying £50 for a Bowen bust of an established IP but for limited runs - and we know how quickly the fans can throw their hands up in horror.
Can't see it happening, which is a shame - and no independent company is likely to touch it for the same reasons -
