Well union villain side seems to love magic salvage and you can sell them for a mint, but tech seems less loved and doesn't sell quiet as well*

i must say that magic salvage is pretty cheap compared to tech salvage with platinum as its extreme(pushing 4 million)
I have found that stuff seems to be a lot cheaper villian side,just about able to keep up with my slotting as i only slot IO,s saves having to buy every 5 lvls.

Pangean Soils are 4 mill too, so it balances out nicely

It tends to vary.
My own experience is that it's easier to make infamy than influence and the items in the AH will vary depending on demand but general rule of thumb is that rare magic salvage costs more.

I have a coule of low level heroes at the moment who seem to be able to easily afford whatever enhancements i want (SO usually until i get to 50) and they always seem to afford this from missions and recipe/salvage drops. I have now started levelling a Bots/Traps mm (currently at lvl 16) but can barely anything. So far I managed a small handful of DO's but nothing more and I had to transfer inf (through a trustworthy source) from a lvl 50 villain (who also had very little).
So in a nutshell, is salvage/recipes etc worth less Villain-side? I use the market in exactly the same way both sides (everything goes in at 1 inf) and yes I know I could play the market more but playing the same way both sides I was hoping for similar returns!
