OK, I hate to be the one to break it to you DimMak, and you're probably not reading this anyway, but your communication skills seem to be lacking, and you don't seem to be aware of it. Let me break down the back and forth:

OK, Fire/Regen is good at PvP. Good to know, though only peripherally related to the PvE game.

    And Santorican points this out.

And here's where the trouble starts. What are you disagreeing with? My assumption was the first part second sentence. If you disagreed with that, it meant you agreed with the opposite, so you agreed with "You DO slot for defense in PvP." So it appeared to me that you were saying that you should slot for defense in PvP, and given the context, that you should perhaps dedicate just as much effort to it as you would in PvE.

Santorican interprets your one word comment the same as I did. He replies that very few people slot for positional defense in PvP, and instead go for high recharge builds.

With this message, it appears that what you meant by your one word "disagree" response was that you shouldn't slot for positional defense in EITHER PvP or PvE. But in that case, for at least PvP, you are AGREEING with what Santorican said. So then your edit makes only half sense - you want to team with him in PvP so that you can change his thoughts on it? But he agrees with you! As for PvE, you're going to show him that a billion influence Regen build dedicated to massive recharge and resistance does fine? Heck, I'd agree with that too. I'd say adding 25% defense so that you get hit half as often might be even better, given that you can do that AND have a massive recharge build with decent resistance. But I won't argue that massive recharge on its own isn't enough to do great in PvE. And as best I can tell, Santorican wasn't arguing with that either.

As another point, perhaps its just me, but "come meet me and I'll show you" comments have always rubbed me the wrong way. If it's PvP, what are you going to show me? I don't PvP. It doesn't matter if I have a superior build; I'm going down because player skill and experience is such a big factor. The same is still true to a lesser extent in PvE, and is quite true of Regen in particular. Much of your survivability at the top end is skill-based. If you're highly-skilled, you're going to do better with your no-defense build than someone else with the exact same build, but with an additional 25% defense. That doesn't mean that an additional 25% defense is bad for you. In this case, it would mean that your skill was making up for a build deficit. It would be tough to come up with PvE situations to prove otherwise. So "I'll show you" hasn't really ever made sense to me.

As best I can tell, at this point Santorican is confused by what you're saying. He appears to think you think we should slot for defense in PvE, and is trying to agree with you. Since you said you didn't slot for defense in PvE, it looks like this is simply confusion. Not surprising given your short and seemingly-inconsistent answers, even if we can work out your meaning with hindsight and effort.

Another confusing post. I THINK what you were trying to do is reiterate that you don't need defense in PvE. You don't even seem to realize that Santorican is not and has not been understanding what you're saying. And finally, you bail on the thread in apparent disgust and disbelief at the forum scrappers being so stupid as to think that defense is useful in PvE?

Seriously, what the hell just happened? That was weird.
I'm even more confused after reading that rofl! *purple bubbles appear around Santorican's head and starts attacking everyone in the thread*

  6. New build, tried to keep recharge as high as possible, dropped boxing, tough, confront. Picked up Hurdle, Health, Stamina. I picked up FSC because it has some really nice bonuses and in the occasional PvE I want to have one AoE.

  7. Guess PvP is like road racing, you can have a fast car but if you don't have the driving skills to match the power you can't extract its full potential.

    Edit:

We could sit here and debate about it or we could team in both PVE and PVP and i could change your thoughts on it.
I never said you don't slot for defense in PvE? I said you don't slot for defense in PvP...
  9. Thats a good build if you plan on never going to any other zone to PvP, but I need more flexibility. It is a nice build though, it gives me ideas for mine. How should I slot Targeting Drone?

I'm eh, I need more practice but I'm getting better at it. Build wise its still evolving, I'm trying to determine whether I need tough or not. I have a few people saying to take it, and I have a few saying to drop it and take fitness pool.
  12. Okay now I am confused, should I take tough, someone post up a build please lol...

That and it isn't reliant resistance or defense. Defense and resistance gets hit pretty hard by DR. You'd need an obscene amount of defense in PvE to hit the soft cap in PvP. People say Fire/Regeneration is the best for PvP but I still don't believe that, I think it's the best behind Katana/BS because you have da/parry and you can slot the -res proc. Not to mention BS has huge burst damage.

PvP and PvE are two different games. You don't slot for defense in PvP like you would in PvE being one good example
  16. For Regeneration:

    Take
    Fast Healing: 3 heal enhancements
Quick Recovery: 3 endurance modification enhancements
Reconstruction: 3 heal and 3 recharge enhancements
Dull Pain: 3 heal and 3 recharge enhancements
Integration : 3 heal and 1 endurance reduction
    Instant Healing: 3 recharge
    Moment of Glory:3 recharge

I'm not very familar with Electric but I'd suggest taking Jacob's Ladder, Build up, Thunder Strike, and Lightning Rod.

For pool powers, take leaping, fighting, fitness, and speed. Take Combat Jumping, Boxing, Tough, Weave, Swift, Health, Stamina, Hasten, and Super Speed.

You'll want as much defense you can muster.

    Good luck!

  19. Yes, it used to be that Lightning Rod and Shield Charge produced the same amount of damage irregardless of the arch type but they changed it so the AT damage modifiers affect attacks like Lightning Rod and Shield Charge so now scrappers do a lot more damage than tankers. Almost 50% more
  20. This used to be my old build before I dedicated my Fire/Regeneration to PvP

  21. Fire/Regeneration is a great combination, capable of dealing a lot of damage. Regeneration is a great secondary capable of doing amazing things in an experienced player's hands. Regeneration benefits from positional defense and a boat load of recharge. Being that Fire has no defense buffs like Katana or Broadsword it will be more difficult for you to achieve a higher level of survivability.

    I've modified FireSpray's build a bit

  22. Quills does critical, secondaries do not critical. Electric/Shield will probably be really good with some recharge bonuses, I have a spines/dark that does well for farming.

Pros for Electric/Shield: Massive burst AoE damage
Cons: Expensive to be really survivable

Pros for Spines/Dark: Lots of AoE over time, slows so the enemy can't get away as quickly, has dark regeneration
Cons: Very endurance hungry, not as beginner friendly as some combinations, not as nearly as survivable as Electric/Shield
  23. This is my fire/energy build
