  1. Hi I'm trying to do something simillar to what was done on the first mission of the Adventures of the Space Marine's arc (sorry don't have the arc id on hand). That is, I'm trying to have only one enemy to fight for the in that mission, this AV I also want to be spawned by by a glowie click. (The main objective of the mission is to find the right glowies which will free the captives then, then you are betrayed and attacked once one key captive is freed)...

I'm not sure if the Space Marine arc really only had one enemy or it's patrols just take everything out so fast you don't see it except the EB.

Can someone clarify if it is possible to have an (almost) enemy-less mission, or is my best bet to flood the mission with high level friendly patrols?

i really liked your arc, it was kind of fun to go back and fignt clockwork. not the vahz though, i hate the vaz... i ran with my lvl 17-18 blaster (AR/dev) and a friend that was a WP tank, on heroic. no real problems with overall difficulty.

ok, there were a couple of typos. unfortunately i did not write them down as i saw them, that is too organized. one was basis, when it should have been bases. another was the word medicine in the last mission, think. i also saw an extra the in the second mission text. that might have been a boss description. sorry, i cannot be more precise.

i liked the story. the couple of things that bothered me were the two sisters. they just seemed kind of arbitrary and thrown in, especially their powers. not sure if they fit the themes very well. they seemed alien to the whole story. maybe that was what you were intending. othnerwise the story flowed nicely. i was really blad to have tiktok along for the last mission. he was a great help and fit hnis theme well.

i like your use of these characters. i have hot read these stories since i was a kid and barely remember them. i guess i will have to dib them up. 4/5 stars

    now for mine again...
i have 14 ratings on my 2 arcs, but only 7 completions. this is kind of annoying, because this means thnat people quit well before the story gets interesting. at first i thought it was because it was too hard. but i just soloed it on heroic with a lvl 17 blaster (AR/dev) and did not nave too many difficulties. yes i died once with thne EB (boss on heroic) and twice witn the AV (elite boss). but they are not gratuitous bosses. i think the story ramps up in difficulty nicely. maybe this is the problem though... people give up when they start dying. but that is because they are not adjusting their tactics.

after some feedback earlier in this forum and testing with my lowbie blaster, i made a few adjustments. some more people would test it i would appreciate your honest feedback. it is the welcome to donut world arc, id# 1233. thank you.

Thanks for the feedback, as for the McDuff sisters maybe I should have named them the McGuffin sisters, (heck maybe I should go back and rename them that'd be epic), as they were more a plot device then anything... I tried to add some humanity to the Vahzilock portion of the arc with them, I guess it would have been nough to say "Dr. Vahzilock want's to experiment on Dorothy because of the magic imbued in her from Oz" and leave it at that. But I felt it added a bit more.

I do have another arc perculating that gives them a bit more back story, but with a sequal Oz arc and one special suprise on the way, unless I hit Devs choice or Hall of Fame with one of my stories it might never see the light of day.

Thanks again for your review, I'll try and ferret out those typos.
  3. Please try mine out, I tried to do something interesting with established characters (IE those from the L Frank Baum books). I'm actually working on a novel, updating one of the Oz characters and this was done as something of a break, just having a laugh with the characters. It was also done for roleplaying purposes on Virtue. I'll do one of yours in exchange.

    My arc 69221.
    Paradox Paradox
    Setting - Heroic.

Recommnded for higher level teams - or 50's.

Youre not saving the world - but a soul. AV fight, clickies, destroy objects, allies.

Interesting story, filled with a lot of technobabble but I guess these kind of stories have to be... some of your custom villains were tough, but since they were used sparingly I didn't mind.

Some things probably could have been better explained like what the Status tubes actually did, not just saying they needed to be destroyed.

I liked how in the one mish the two rescue objectives were optional, I'm normally a stealther but I'd feel bad to leave trapped comrads to their fate!

The Entity is a pretty interesting villain all told... yeah that's about all i have to say, I gave it 4 stars.

I hope you can get them to bring Prisoners back I had to make a custom "Convicts" villain group to fix one of my story arcs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

yeah I'm going to have to do that too... on the plus side custom critters will put all of my missions in the correct level range. (I just have one mission that takes place in the Zig)

    Smurfy question

when you hit the print screen button, the screencap should be saved in the folder that has coh under a subfolder called screenshots for me it's d:/program files/City of Heroes/Screenshots they don't automatically go to the website's gallery unless you choose to upload them there. You could also upload them to a site like photobucket and then give us links.

Anyway it sounds awesome... btw my friend runs a hobby store so I happen to know that it's the 50th Anniversary of the Smurfs there are new figures out by a company called Schliech (German company makes very good toys)

they're excellent toys for younger kids in the 3 yo range since they have no moving or small parts... Just so you know they are out there, if you want to pick them up for you niece for Christmas or something.
