Quote:Your examples aren't what I'm talking about. Those are auras or power effects. Activated by powers being used, or having an aura on your character. I'm talking about costume pieces with a glow attached to them. See the yellow pieces on the gloves pointed to in the video. Think Tron outfits, with their glowy parts.sigh, ignore the video. Here are screenshots of glowing hands on PPD:
Energy-like attack
Definitely a glowing aura around the gloves
glow surrounding body armor
So these exist. Glowing hands in going rogue. Whether or not players get them or it's just NPCs who knows. But these exist. -
Quote:I think the article, or the people doing the research, missed the point entirely. It wasn't that people loved the frequency of the ads, but rather the way the ads celebrated the show.
Come on, it's one of the biggest shows ever done, with one of the most anticipated finales, ever! If you pay homage, or reference the show while it's going on, then yeah, the viewers are going to love you for it. Did Target's ads raise the bar for ingenuity in advertising? I think so. But it wasn't watching the ad repeatedly that made it a success. Clever sells (and gets peoples attention). Why is that so hard for these people to wrap their head around? -
Quote:QFT. What's the point of all the recharge if it's not going to improve any of the damage output for you, or your team? The irony is that you've made so much sacrifice to recharge, you'd probably take longer to kill things.Uhm... My first and major reaction to this: You put knockback IO sets into everything??????? YIKES!
So you hit one enemy and he goes flying out of your taunt/damage aura.
Rinse repeat.
Hit footstomp, the group goes flying out of your taunt/damage aura.
Not sure how that will play in the long run, but every time you attack the other melee toons are going to start wondering why they keep having to keep chasing down their targets.
Oh, and don't chain in Power Sink right after footstomp as you won't drain very many enemies as you'll have knocked them out of range. -
Quote:I know the post you speak of, I think it was on the thread showing the tunnels/resistance group. Yeah, we were told those aren't available. But watching this video, the yellow on the gloves looks to be glowing. I'm not talking about the glow of the power, but the actual gloves.I was pretty certain that I saw a post from Jay saying that the glowing bits on the gloves and breastplates that you see in the teaser vids aren't available to players....but now I can't find it, so I could be wrong.
Also, while the video looks great, I can't say I'm a fan of them making Fly look faster than it is. -
So lets say you park in a spot where two or more day jobs are marked, how does the game determine which one it counts towards? If you stay logged out long enough, would it switch to the other day job once the first one has reached its limit?

You're man-crush just went to oogy.
Last night I had a Lost dream. From what I could make sense of it, it seems Jack and Locke were given a real second chance to redo their time together. But this time they had special "Jacob-Like" powers, and sang a buddy-song duet before diving into the ocean. Then things became somewhat reminiscent of the video for Radiohead's Pyramid Song. And then things got weird. -
Missed seeing this earlier, but I'm tossing one in here anyway. Cool concept, OP!
Young Hero, hopeful.
Raised to level cap, so soon.
Shelved in retirement. -
I was watching the "Preview to Going Rogue" video, and noticed some very nice looking glowing gloves on a character (at 2:35 into the time line). Now, last time some images were posted with glowing gloves on a character we were told that it wasn't player available. So is this just another example of something will never get to have, or has Paragon Studios decided to give us glowie costume pieces?
Don't tease me, CoH! I'm too fragile for another broken heart!! -
Considering most vets I know tend to get through the first 20 levels in no time at all, I can't see why anyone would be upset about these enhancements being in a separate purchase. I wouldn't want them, myself, considering they wouldn't be that useful in the IO builds I make. The enhancements, while nice during the first 20 levels, are pretty weak sauce to a lot of vet players. It's nothing to get bent out of shape for.
-
Agreed. Since it was said that they "built that place" so they could meet up again, then I get the feeling they wouldn't be able to force Keamy and company into being part of it.

Quote:If this is what you were hoping for from the last few episodes, then I don't think there would have been any way to please you. Lost isn't the show to rush through story without setting up plausibility. If you wanted to see their whole life story after the island, that would have taken at least another season to talk about. They never fell inlove again? They couldnt move on? How was Hugo as the #1? What happened for his turn?
But then what? Would you be happy with that? Let's say you see the rest of their lives, as boring as that would start to be, would that really be enough? Then you'd want to know what happened with all the people they met and who impacted their lives after the island. But then it would stop being the show it was. Their lives after the island has no real connection to the rest of the show.
Asking for what you want sounds too much like people who want the level cap raised in the game. Would that really solve the problem they had? -
Quote:Aside from the previously mentioned counter-points (Jacob knowing it was his brother and Smokey being bound by the rules, as well as having MiB's desire to leave), death of the body has been shown during the series to not equal death of the mind or soul. As Miles has said, "That's just meat." And MiB blames Jacob for stealing his body.I don't think MiB became the Smoke Monster. I think Smokey was somehow locked in the Cave o' Light, and then when Jacob tossed MiB into the Cave, it somehow released Smokey. But we clearly saw MiB's body separately from Smokey (when Jacob placed MiB and his mother in the Adam-and-Eve cave). For whatever reason, when Smokey needed a human form, he chose MiB's - until Jacob died, then Smokey chose to use Locke's form. We also saw Locke's body separately from Smokey's.
The more you take the shows established facts into account, the more probable it becomes that turning MiB into the Smoke monster was the Light's reaction to the rules set in place by Mother to keep the brothers from killing each other. -
Ok, here was your EA set up:
Level 26: Energy Absorption -- RedFtn-Def(A), RedFtn-Def/Rchg(27), RedFtn-Def/EndRdx/Rchg(27), Efficacy-EndMod/Rchg(33), Efficacy-EndMod/Acc/Rchg(34), Efficacy-Acc/Rchg(46)
Which gives you: (not counting accuracy since it's auto-hit)
Defense - 51.93%
End Mod - 47.70%
Recharge - 98.29%
Bonuses:
1.26 Resist to Cold/Fire
21.1 HP
.03 End per second
Here's what I use:
Level 26: Energy Absorption -- P'Shift-EndMod/Rchg(A), LkGmblr-Def(27), LkGmblr-Def/Rchg(27), Efficacy-EndMod/Acc/Rchg(34), Efficacy-EndMod/Rchg(34), RedFtn-Def/Rchg(42)
Which gives you:
Defense - 54.16%
End Mod - 69.48%
Recharge - 98.37%
Bonuses:
10% Regen (.78 HP/S)
21.1 HP
Percentage-wise, there's a difference. But what that equates too is only fractional when looking at defense and endurance gained. It may be stronger as an end drain power on my set up, but again, that would be marginal. So go with the cheapest set up, if you ask me. -
Quick question: In reviews and talks of "Across the Sea," I notice a lot of people placing the time of the story as roughly 2000 years ago. Where is this info coming from? Because I didn't notice it in the show.

Quote:I believe the slotting I have for EA yields even better enhancement values. I'll have to check when I get home (on a Mac at work). I'll post it here once I pull it up.Level 26: Energy Absorption -- RedFtn-Def(A), RedFtn-Def/Rchg(27), RedFtn-Def/EndRdx/Rchg(27), Efficacy-EndMod/Rchg(33), Efficacy-EndMod/Acc/Rchg(34), Efficacy-Acc/Rchg(46)
[edit] I just realized you may be going for some bonuses, but IMO, this is one time the enhancement values far exceed the benefits of the bonuses that could be gained. It's all up to you though. -
Quote:Heh, I like accuracy, too! I believe on the toon I built that for, I already had 40-50 on accuracy bonuses. Which is why I didn't worry too much on the power itself.Additionally, your suggested slotting yields only 1.5X Accuracy, which is about half way to where I like to play. Some people like too much Recovery; I like too much Accuracy. Had it not mattered, I'd have stuck an Damage IO in there instead of Accuracy.

Quote:While you are going to be softcapped, the great benefit of EA's defense is twofold. You'll be adding nearly 10% defense to all but psi. This goes to help with your fire weakness (even if small) and gives you some wiggle room for -def debuffs. While you have high resist to the debuff, leaving more defense to have to eat through allows you to avoid cascading def issues. Very helpful. What would be the purpose of adding additional defense to Energy Absorption if I am already soft-capped to most everything? I don't see much movement of the defense number?
I frankenslot all my Ice/ tanks to hit near ED cap def, rech and end mod. I never regret it, either.
(that's nearly 10% defense AFTER slotting) -
Quote:That's pretty irksome. I hope Team Darlton (if they made this choice) decide to throw it in with season 6. And if they didn't make this choice, I hope they fight to put it in with season 6. It's a pretty big snub to fans who bought the first 5 seasons already. The Complete Series on DVD set will include a 12 to 14 minute epilogue regarding Ben and Hurley, says Michael Emerson
Jacob-darnit! I already have Seasons 1-5 on DVD, so I am not going to buy the complete series, though I would really want to see that sequence! -
Power order seems wonky. I'd swap Boxing and Wet Ice, and Icicles and Glacial Armor. Those things can really hurt when you exemp down.
-
Quote:Simply brilliant.

Quote:Not a bad frankenslotting, but Siphon Life makes a better attack than a heal. So why not slot to get even more benefits? Might I suggest:After posting my ambiguous image, I figured I should give a bit of a specific example. Take a look at Siphon Life:
2 Acc/Dam Hami's, 1 Heal/End Hami, Doctored Wounds Heal/Rech, Numina's Heal/Rech and a Mako's Dam/Rech. All lvl 50 of course. You don't quite hit the ED cap on Dam, Heal and Rech, but the difference in percent translates to be very little difference at all. And you get great acc and a little end reduc to boot! Enjoy! -
Watched the "Aloha to Lost" episode last night. Cadaver Cadabra. HA!
