Quote:I have no clue what you're talking about. I found the Praetorian stuff to be the best written and most captivating parts of the game so far. I've done the whole Warden Resistance thing, and then First Ward. It's several long story arcs, with tough moral choices, iconic recurring characters and good looking environments. NPCs like Mother Mayhem, Praetor White, Noble Savage are well developed persona who's stories are slowly revealed as you level.Nothing ever launches full realized. We never get a "complete" package - we get things bit by bit. Imagine if we had to wait for the entire Incarnate System with all the iTrials to be completed in the Praetorian Arc for "Going Rogue" to be launched.
Nothing like that happens while levelling in Paragon City or the Rogue Islands, at least no up to level 20. (My experience on the Hero side is limited). The story with Matthew Habashy is quite good though, as you get to save his wive and such. The Rogue Islands could use a lot more Seer Marino type stories. -
Quote:I'm just saying that right now it doesn't make any sense. If it's supposed to be a long story arc, then it's not doing a good job of pulling you into the story. It feels like random bits left over from what might have been a consistent story in the past. The whole "Destined ones" bit, honestly (as I try to recall my various villains careers) is *supposed* to be kinda-sorta hidden, something you learn about as you go along (not one of the unlocks, btw, this is the main "arc.") You're one of a lot of people who "might" be the Destined One. Since you're at 37, you don't know what it is yet - but you're near the end of the story, so I won't spoil it for you.
The stories in Praetoria and First Ward made a lot more sense to me because they were connected and tied in with the iconic NPCs. For example the whole thing with Noble Savage spans almost 30 levels and ends with encountering Praetor Duncan and Praetor White. By then you know who he is, and he's become a friend of you. The only notable NPCs I've encountered sofar in the Rogue Isles is Ghost Widow and Wretch. Most of what you encounter are background actors with no background story or personality. The mission contacts often do have a background and personality, I'm talking about characters like all the folks you meet when you do the Baron Zukor story line.
Quote:You obviously have a Widow or Soldier of Arachnos. Lore-wise... it's bad they lowered the unlock for them, and worse that you can buy the unlock, because initially they unlocked after getting a villain to 50 - which means you *should* have been exposed to the storyline.
Quote:It's easier after you have been to make the mental shift to "OK, I played through as the villain they busted out of the Zig (Ziggursky penitentiary for superpowered criminals, in Brickstown - which to me adds a few other problems, but eh,) now I play as one of the Arachnos folks who's a bit miffed that the bosses felt they had to bring in outsiders - *I* deserve this!" if you've seen the whole thing villainside.
Quote:The grouping system is... fairly easy, but again, poorly documented. Quote:Drowning in Blood doesn't take long (20-30 minutes, taking your time) - get your team, click on the LFG box, pick Drowning in Blood, hit Queue.
Quote:The tutorial has moved beyond the "early" story. You won't find Shivans wandering around in Cap, but you will find them in Marshall Brass's arcs. Quote:And yes, they look much different... because they're a different group of shivans, which as far as I know only gets explained in that Drowning in Blood trial (There's some explanation on where *they* came from, but right now I can't think of where it was - if it was even in game instead of the website.) Quote:Are you hunting solo? Doing missions (a) with a team (b) against family/Marcone should lead to bosses spawning, which makes it less of a grind. And honestly, with just one other person if you're street sweeping, I found the rate of bosses popping up increased noticably.
Quote:True. But they don't have to be 50s, since it's usable at 14 (and obtainable before then, actually.) -
Quote:Attila the Pun already said a lot.do you really need to run at that resolution? have you tried lowering it to accomodate the game? have you tried adjusting the window scale under menu - options - windows - user interface - window scale. this adjusts all the windows. there is a slash command to adjust individual windows but it fails me at the moment
My main point is that these UI elements are much smaller than the rest of it. Most things, like your action buttons, vendor items, etc. are several dozen pixels in size, but then all of a sudden these things are like 3 pixels big. Chat and closing windows are pretty important elements to this game.
Quote:personally i like that the game doesnt "hold your hand" and walk you through every little detail on how to meet which contact, etc. i like that you have to figure things out, do some research, or ask help from friends. also i don't think it would be feasible for the game to inform you of everything with all of the wide and varied content.
Quote:rogues are much more than tourists! you can do any heroside content, even form task forces and participate in heroside hami raids - errr - okay with a few exceptions. you cannot join a heroside cathedral of pain, DFB, and DIB. and or course hero oro arcs..... i'm sure someone will correct me if there are others.
The thing is that once you've chosen Hero or Villain side, you end up very locked to that side because with the way Prestige gathering works, you get nicer things in your base much quicker, if all your toons are in the same SG. Now a Rogue/Vigilante should be able to stay in their SG, and still access content from the other side. As your list shows, what is actually accessible is a subset. Now maybe I should be grateful I can access any of it at all, but it seems to be quite arbitrary and some of the pretty big things have been left out, like the list you mention.
Quote:here is a list of all the ways to get your own oro portal http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Entruste...e_Secret_Badge
welcome to city of heroes, hope you enjoy your stay -
Quote:I thought it might be useful feedback to tell how a new player experiences the game, especially because I assume they're trying to have free players become VIPs.Of your complaints, most have been mentioned at one time or another. So you're not alone. Do want to point out 1-2 things.
Quote:Not connected to the old one (well, a touch on villainside, since the entire villain storyline is kinda-sorta tied to being a "destined one")
The worst offender is the first mission you get on an Arachnos Widow. Apparently there is a list of Destined Ones and I need to be on it, because I'm pretending to be one? I only remember fighting some Aliens.
Quote:but, since you're level 37, you should try to get on a team running Drowning in Blood (the second trial, open to everyone 15+.) You go into an instanced version of Bloody Bay, and get to see the new and old shivans - and, in a change from "the leader's the only one who sees the info," if you click on the old shivans, they'll tell you some of what's going on.
Quote:You dont' really run into the "new" shivans much (yet.) The old ones, you'll see quite a bit villainside when you're in Cap, you'll see them in Bloody Bay, and in the Ouro entry arc.
Quote:I'll be honest, I kinda-sorta like the unlock system redside - only since there aren't as many zones, so it gives some variety. However, the fact they're *hidden,* and not very obvious as to what level/what you do to unlock them, is a huge, HUGE downfall.
But my first point is that they're indeed often very well "hidden". Content that's too well hidden is wasted development effort. You should strive for a significant percentage of your players to experience the content you've made, or it's not a good return on investment.
Quote:You have to be "exposed to time travel" to unlock Ouroboros. Yes, that's vague, but there's a fair bit that'll do it. Quote:Having someone else give you the portal (now at 14 or higher) will do it. Quote:Some of the arcs with Dr. Aeon will do it.
Quote:I'm kind of surprised Cimerora doesn't... thought it did. Quote:Perhaps you need to grab a badge to "prove" you have been - much like going into Recluse's Victory (40+ zone) and grabbing a badge will do it. Quote:Heroside, the Science contact in Brickstown (30-40)'s unlock mission will do it... There are a few ways. But, again, true - non-obvious. -
Hi,
I'm a new player (started around Christmas. I've already posted a thread when I had been playing for about a month, I now want to make an update to this: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=282259
It's a repeat and extension of that earlier post. I'm level 37 now and want to give an update. I hope this is valuable information, as to survive CoX needs new players like me, while of course still catering to the existing player base.
Best things:
- Most places have a lot of content, more than you can do with a single character.
- Nice character animations, emotes, powers.
- Mac version.
- More role-playing compared to other MMOs.
- Great character designer, if sometimes a bit confusing by hiding unavailable options.
- Nice way to group with the exemplar/sidekick system between players of different levels.
- Mayhem missions are fun.
- It seems the bug I reported a few weeks ago has already been fixed!
things most in need of improvement:
- Only the team leader can follow the mission dialog, even if the other team members are on the same mission. This made the nice story arcs in First Ward and other places a lot less fun, as I do nearly all content with a team of friends.
- Some interface elements are too small, mostly the chat, pin and close buttons. I usually play at 1680x1050 or higher resolution. Even when playing with my 1920x1080 beamer, creating a 4m/12ft screen, I still can't read the chat buttons while standing right in front of it.
- The starting zones are boring compared to higher level content, especially Mercy. Twinshot and Dr.Graves are prime examples as they go out of their way to avoid introducing you to iconic characters and lore. Starting with something like the Seer Marino story arc would be much much better. Praetoria is much better, but unavailable to the free players you try to win over to a subscription.
- The tutorial has no connection to the rest of the game. I haven't encountered a Shivan since I was level 2. I have the feeling a lot of the content in the staring areas still is supposed to be connected to an older starting tutorial, with all the mention of Destined Ones and such, but very little explanation.
- A lot of contacts need to be unlocked. Often in cumbersome and non-obvious ways, without the game giving any clues. MMOs need all the content they can get to keep players entertained, hiding a lot doesn't seem like a good business decision. I levelled from 10-20 on my first toon doing newspaper missions and failing the Mayhem missions. Only later did I learn how to use Find Contact, and that completing a Mayhem mission gives introductions. Even if you study the Paragon Wiki and thus know about them, some are a pain to unlock. For example the SlotMachine. I'm level 37 and have 1/200 Marcone bosses killed. Johnny Sonata I got by accident, because I did a lot of exploration to unlock teleport locations. From the wiki I know there are many more I didn't find.
- The game could really use a tutorial on Enhancement sets and on the LFG, the Black MarketWenworth's and Trials system. Something similar to the introduction to Inventions. I still have never used LFG and only figured out enhancement sets with a lot of help from the Paragon wiki and forums.
- Rogues are still mainly Villains, even when in Paragon City. You're a tourist but little more. I assume Vigilante is similar. In general it was nicer if the content between Paragon City, Rogue Isles and Praetoria was more integrated. I would not mind a PvP version of the Mayhem/Saveguard missions for example. I really liked Cimerora, First Ward and the Rikti War Zone as you meet more players (I play mainly Villains/Rogues). It would be nice if a Vigilante/Rogue would have more access to both sides, or maybe even all characters in general. This should especially include Super Groups and high level content like Hamidon raids. Anything for which you need multiple players would really benefit from having few restrictions on who can join. Maybe something to give VIPs?
- I've been trying to figure out a way to unlock Ouroberos. There doesn't seem to be another way besides asking a player who has it. I think you should discover it on your own somewhere around level 30-ish. The Ashley McKnight mission that sends you to Cimerora goes out of it's way to prevent this.
-
I'm a new player, I've played redside until level 30, and blueside until level 20.
My highest level is a Preatorian Resistance at level 37 though. Street Justice/Regeneration Brute. I've done the Praetorian missions, and was level 21 when I finished, then continued with First Ward, with a few side missions in the Rogue Isles. This got me to level 29.
It's the character I've had most fun with, I find level 1-20 in Praetoria more engaging than in Paragon City or the Rogue Isles. After that the First Ward stuff is great on it's own and even better continuation for a Praetorian. You end up playing an unfolding storyline that spans nearly from level 1 to 30.
I found the Praetorian missions very well written and emotionally engaging. The only thing that comes close is the Seer Marino arc and to a lesser extent the Dean McArthur story. But both only last a level, maybe two.
I played mostly the Warden Resistance path, and that alone got me to level 21. I would recommend doing just one path, as it means following a continuous story, I did a few of the Crusader ones, and those had a very different feel, very dark and corrupt. I've also did some loyalist stuff on another character, that gives another feel again.
I also like Praetoria's city design, especially the zone transitions without having to use transport.
I have not clue why you shouldn't play a /regen, it worked fine for me. -
-
It would be nice if it scaled with the number of members or accounts in the SG. This limit is fine for a small SG, but I assume it's a pain for a big SG.

I just noticed this post over in the Market forum:
Quote:I've noticed this behaviour as well. Especially at vendors. Where the actual mouse click seems to be misplaced.I definitely do have prompts enabled, and I did get a confirm.
Of course, the confirm has saved me from an extra zero from time to time. Are you on a Mac by chance? I haven't seen this happen on a PC, but when I use my mac to play, I have some weird stuff happen. Like I'll right-click a recipe in my recipe inventory, and it will highlight a recipe that is 2 higher than the one I clicked. Then I'll do it again and it will highlight correctly. Easy way to accidentally delete a valuable recipe instead of a temp power.
Interactive items like Elevators and glowies also sometimes seem to do this.
I remember noticing it for te first time after enabling Ultra mode. Could it be a Mac specific issue with Ultra mode, or some setting in there?
Anyone else who also sees this? -
The characters I've tried had it unchecked as a default as well. Both at the trainer and facemaker.
I don't really care for this item, and don't understand the logic about it for NCsoft. They earn money though the store, so it would be in their interest to keep unlockable pieces visible at all times. It's only a small percentage of all the costume pieces, most of it is available by default.
The system is somewhat inconsistent in which locked pieces it shows any way. Some things only show up after you've bought them. -
Quote:Thematically I'm more like "If someone chops of my arm, I'll just grow a new one.", but that might not work mechanically. You need 45% defence to be softcapped, right? How much difference does for example 6% vs. 9 % make in practice?1. Don't like that either, but alas I like being sturdy. So was just a mention.
Quote:2. Wasn't really criticizing just mentioning in case you hadn't looked at.
Quote:3. I know you're about perma hasten as is. Probably perma if you boosted the enhancements. More of a matter of if you wanted to plan around something like spiritual you could lose some of your recharge and build a bit for defense.
Quote:4. You could probably drop initial strike later in the build but I'm no attach chain expert.
Quote:5. Lastly, food for thought. You might want to consider the force feeback proc in spinning strike and achilles heel in shin breaker. -
Quote:You mean Return to Battle? I don't have that yet, if I'd buy all the enhancements in this build, I probably would though.I guess they finally fixed revive? I haven't been reading patch notes. I use the vet reward rez, it is usually recharged every time I die. Maybe if you get enough reward points buying sets that could be an option too.
As I see it on the Paragon Wiki, Revive and Return to Battle are similar, but Revive of course can be slotted and enhanced, and has a recharge of 5 minutes. With one level 30 health IO, it gives me full health, so I think it's slightly better than the Return to Battle, which only gives about half health.
I use it a few times per hour, I'm very bad at watching my health bar. I'm still to much used to the UI I had in WoW, where I had an addon that displayed my health bar in the center of my screen (80% transparent).
As I'm getting better at this game, I might be able to make do with Return to Battle, I had not thought of that. Thematically it fits my character well, it always reminds me of the scene in the X-men movie where Wolverine is shot in the head by a cop, and then stands up again after a few seconds, with the bullet plopping to the ground out of his forehead. And everyone knows Wolverine is claws/regen. -
I think the Mac launcher is a genuine OSX application, and thus sees your OSX language settings.
The CoX game itself basically lives within a Windows emulator. It seems there is something going wrong in the translation of the keyboard from OSX to the Windows emulator. I think the Windows emulator maybe just always thinks it's connected to a US keyboard, I don't know exactly how an AZERTY keyboard works, if for example the scancode for 'A' is the same as for a US keyboard, or it's the scancode for 'Q'. -
Quote:Yeah, in the Market forum I read all kinds of posts about these converters, but I didn't understand what it was all about.Purple recipes are 20 hero merits, pvp recipes are 30. The sets that you probably want to buy with hero merits are luck of the gambler, obliteration, basilisks gaze, numinas... The prices on pvp and purple recipes are going to be changing with the new enhancement converters. Cheap puple recipes will get more expensive as people buy them up to convert, I dont know how it will all end up though.
Quote:I think that 15 sec untouchable in mids is wrong. You can hit revive and be dead before you even finish standing up. So revive is actually equal to 1 large wakie+break free, not better. Powers are harder to come by than insps, and going to the hosp is always available.
Should you fall in battle, you can Revive yourself from the brink of death. You will revive with most of your Hit Points and half your Endurance and be protected from XP Debt for 90 seconds. You will also have 15 seconds of immunity to most damage. Recharge: Very Long
Activation Time:1.50s
Recharge Time:5m 0s
Accuracy:1.00X
Available Level:35
Power Type:Click
Target Type:Self
Effect Area:Single Target
1305.72 heal for 0.50s on self unresistable
50.00 endurance on self after 0.13s delay unresistable
10.00 magnitude untouchable for 15.00s(15.00s) on self Ignores buffs and enhancements unresistable
50.00 magnitude immobilize for 4.00s(4.00s) on self Ignores buffs and enhancements unresistable
I've used the untouchable to tank an Elite Boss 5 levels higher than myself, it seemed to work pretty well, I stayed at full hitpoints until it wore off. (The mission was bugged).
Quote:Also this. Yesterday I made 750mil inf just playing the game. Okay, I got a purple recipe, then converted it and sold it for 600mil, but another 150 mil I got from finishing up morality missions and the SSA. That doesnt include the nice IOs that I dropped in my base to keep. Once you hit 50 purple recipes can drop (I always sell them), and once you get a bunch of inf it is much easier to get more. I don't actually marketeer, I just sell sell sell, but if you get into buying/flipping things you can get a bit of inf that way too.
Another thing that I like about the Store-bought enhancements, is that they go down in level and stay active if you exemplar down. I understand that the drawback is that you can't boost them beyond level 50.
The Paragon Points are not an issue, I like getting the rewards and the money is not a problem. -
Quote:I really don't like that you also need to get Kick before you can get Tough/Weave. It means I need to lose a lot of other powers.Just a quick note or two about possible alternatives.
With kinetics/tough/weave, it's possible to get you to about 30% sl resist and 32% s/l defense. So one small purple should softcap.
Quote:The ato set is pretty cheap in comparsion to purples.
Quote:I tend to be a stickler for survivability as such I'm simply mentioning that soul mastery and darkest night would help. Just something to think of, I know you said you wanted your eyes to glow.
Quote:If you're planning for the long haul you might want to consider your alpha. Ie. with spiritual you can shift things around a bit and have perma hasten with the above defenses without, you'll need some more recharge.
One thing I noticed, is that a lot of attacks now have a recharge near their cast time. Would that mean I could do with less attacks? It would completely change the build, as other powers would allow different enhancement sets.
Quote:Either way, glad you're enjoying. Mids is like a game unto itself -
I've figured out a way to get the new Mid's working on the Mac, so instead of the PvP thing, I've added in the Brute's Fury. See the bottom of this post.
I have no clue how the Incarnate stuff works. How long it takes to unlock it, and how it works. It's not properly displaying on the Mac Mid's, so it's difficult for me to play around with it. Some advice on what to go look for based on the direction I'm going would be appreciated.

I have managed to run the updater by doing the following:
1) Run the update function in Mid's Hero Designer and download the MXDSetup1-954.exe file
1) Go to MidsHeroDesigner.app
2) Right-click on it and select "Show Package Contents"
3) Open a second Finder window, go to wherever you've downloaded MXDSetup1-954.exe and drag it from there to drive_c/Program Files/Titan Network
4) Open Contents/Info.plist in the Property List Editor
5) Change the "Program Name and Path" from
/Program Files/Titan Network/Mids Hero Designer/Hero Designer.exe
to
/Program Files/Titan Network/MXDSetup1-954.exe
6) Save and close everything
7) Run MidsHeroDesigner.app, instead of Mid's it will now run the installer.
8) Click Next until it's Finished.
9) Right-click on MidsHeroDesigner.app and do "Show Package Contents" again.
4) Open Contents/Info.plist in the Property List Editor
5) Change the "Program Name and Path" from
/Program Files/Titan Network/MXDSetup1-954.exe
back to
/Program Files/Titan Network/Mids Hero Designer/Hero Designer.exe
This got me the new version of Mid's.
Apparently the update installer doesn't do anything fancy. This was easier than I thought.
I don't have a place to upload the new version to or I could zip it and provide it. -
Quote:I think we can solve this without a rewrite of Mid's. Having to emulate .Net in the Wineskin wrapper might not be ideal, but basically it's what the CoX Mac client does as well.If Mids is able to download and launch the updater by itself, it should be able to run completely within the wineskin container. I haven't tested this though, so I'm not completely sure.
If you're going to do a major rewrite, try to get rid of .NET entirely if you can. I know MS claims it helps with portability, but it's actually the complete opposite - most of the time, C-style code without .NET can be ported to other platforms somewhat easily, but with .NET porting is basically a rewrite anyhow (so it may as well be from the start).
And btw, I do know exactly how difficult that would be, I'm an iOS developer. It's a time investment for sure, but you may get that back in the form of decreased maintenance time later on. I do applaud you and all the previous Mids developers though because I myself lack the math skills to reverse-engineer a game like CoH and design a completely accurate planner.
I don't know enough about Wine right now to make the wrapper understand it needs to run the installer. I might be able to figure that out given time though. The problem is that the update function now redirects to a HTML download and the OSX doesn't know what to do with MXDsetup1-954.exe. It might be possible to get it to run, by copying it into the .app and changing the wine settings. It depends on what the installer itself uses. If the installer in the end just replaces some files, and doesn't interact with the Registry or other Windows internals, then just having a zip with the files and a few lines of instruction on where to put them would work. Diellan_ could probably even do that on a Windows machine and then zip the result as the updated Mac version.
Diellan_ seems to be interested in providing a Mac version as long as the effort on his side is minimal. I'm trying to figure out if we do that based on the work U Dark has done. U Dark of course could also repeat whatever he did to make a new version. I haven't seen U Dark update things yet though and if it would be possible for Diellan_ to provide a Mac version directly, or just the updates, it would make things simpler and easy to keep the Mac version up-to-date with the Windows version.
I will play with the wine settings in the .app to see if it's possible to have it run the update installer as well. -
Quote:If you'd provide a .zip with the DLLs and the Mids executable, we could manually copy the new version into 'drive_c/Program Files/Titan Network/Mids Hero Designer' inside the Mac wrapper package. If that's what the updater does, then it would work to update the Mac wrapper this way.1. I don't know anything about how the wineskin wrapper works, but most of the time, I'm updating all of the dll files as well as the Mids executable itself (because the Devs keep coming up with entirely new mechanics), which is why I need to do a full install instead of an internal update.
The Mac wrapper is basically an install of Mids + the Wine windows emulator + the settings to run Mids together in a bundle that makes Mac think it's an application. Inside it is a full directory structure that makes Mids think it's running on Windows.
Quote:2. See below.
3. That could be arranged.
2. I didn't actually write that part of Mids at all - I think it's all legacy code from Mids himself (as opposed to me or St0n3y, the other guy who worked on Mids before me). I've been wanting to redo the graphics code, but it's a massive undertaking (and would probably require me to change from .Net 2.0 to a higher version if I want it to be efficient and pretty).
It's likely a minor fix to make it work, but if you don't have a Mac to test on it's kind of hard to figure out what would fix it.
Would it be possible to make the code of Mid's available to me? I have a friend who works with VS.Net (what version would be needed?) and has a Mac. We might be able to figure out what the problem is, if you'd be comfortable with that? It's probably doing something that the Wine emulator isn't supporting completely, but given that essentially they're colored text labels with a pop-up on hover, it should be possible to make it work.
If we could find a way to do the updates by distributing a zip, and solve the graphics glitch, then you'd basically have a fully functional Mid's on the Mac. -
I've made another version, now that I know how to avoid the Rule of Five properly.
I have added two purple sets and a PvP set. I know the recipes for the purple sets can be bought with Alignment Merits, for which I need to run the SSA each week, and maybe also from alignment confirmation missions? Am I correct that I need two Alignment Merits to buy one purple recipe?
I'm running the pre-i22 version of Mid's on the Mac, so I don't have Brute's Fury. I might obtain that instead of one of the purple sets with Reward Merits. It would still also require 1500 Reward Mertits and 125 million inf. or so.
I have no clue where the PvP sets come from. It might be totally unattainable for me, I can't find how to get it on the Paragon Wiki. An explanation would be most welcome.
But this way I should no longer bump into the Rule of Five.
I intend to use Store-Bought Enhancements for most of the stuff in here, as I have more Euros/Dollars than inf. I've checked and calculated that this build would require somewhere in the range of 4000 Paragon Points. It leaves only a few enhancement recipes and salvage that I'd need to obtain on the Black Market. I can then later slowly replace them with non-store versions and mail the store versions to an alt.
How does this look?
I still have Revive in there, because it's a lot better than Awaken + Break Free, and thus frees up inspiration slots for other things. Especially the invulnerability effect is very nice. I've put a datachunk at the bottom that has Hasten instead.

Quote:I had misunderstood how the rule of five works. I understand now. Thanks. You have to excuse me, on my ipad here so don't have my Mids to check-up on some of this.
Capped means you reached certain limits within game that you're can't surpass. One most folks know is the 'Rule of Five', which is the reason folks don't run around with six LoTG 7.5 to recharge. Same with recipe set bonus, and if you go far top right on Mids, click on the tab that shows all the set bonus totals, it always so those capped in red.
Quote:It be cost, but on a few of this you're going to have to wait a week or two before you get the buy.
Sorry, grammer screw-up on my part in the rush.
While there is a possibility the new Mid's version is messed-up, when I checked your build you were capped in twice in Doc Wounds and once in Crushing Impact. I took those out, since neither was giving you a recharge set bonus. So instead, you got all the healing procs and your defense up to around 10%. And I think you misunderstand how Hasten works, it adds to your globe recharge. So while I did take you down from 90% to 70%, hasten adds another 70% for a grand total of 140%. While Hasten isn't perm (which means the recharge of the power and its duration are near the same), the FF proc (10% to recharge) will fix that when it fires.
Quote:I'm going off what Local Man was saying in the Troller forum, on how fly speed was now capped. And really, game-wise, unless you're racing someone the 8 mph shouldn't be such a big deal. At best, it might cut a few seconds off your travel time.
Quote:You need to update your Mids, but those are the new ATO people were talking about. Each class has their own, with set bonuses that fit the class. The brute's has a proc that will add to their fury. To check them out, just go to Auction House and click were you buy crafted IOs.
Quote:And since I did this build on the fast, I mostly want it to give you some ideas more then just follow it blindly. It has a few problems itself, and I don't know your style of play. -
Below is a screenshot of what Mid's looks like on my Mac.
As you can see, the biggest problem with the graphics is that the powers don't show up. the labels like Name, Power, Origin and Primary Powerset do show up.
I can still use it, because if you hover over the powers, the popup will show what it is. It's the same if you select Hero instead of Villain.
Maybe you need to force a redraw after applying colours or something like that. I don't how you've coded it and It's been 8 years since I did something with .Net so I can't be of more help. It would be great if you could fix this problem and give a way to update Mid's without having to run an .exe.

Thanks for the reply.
Quote:you were capped in a few places and I switched some stuff around.
Quote:I hate to say, I doubt you could bring this one in under 2 billion because Numina's Convalescences are a bit pricey.
Quote:But I did get your Defense/Resistance up a bit, which should help Hasten
Quote:which is better then Revive (since there are many ways to revive yourself in the game now).
I will have to study your build in detail.
Quote:But let it be noted, I only have one brute (ss/fa).
Added Note... put the Freebird Stealth Proc in FLY!
Added, added Note... Afterburner - replace the fly io with a LoTG defense (so you get the 10% to reg set bonus, since you should still be capped with flight speed without the fly io).

Almost. There are a few things this does not solve:
1 Updating doesn't work as it asks you to download an .exe. Now U_Dark or someone else needs to install Mids on a Windows machine, run the updater and then build a new Mac package. Either you making a new Mac version when Mids updates or making the updating run from inside Mids would be a nicer solution. Even just distributing the updated files in a zip instead of some installer executable might be sufficient.
2 This still has some graphics glitches. Some parts of the interface always show up as black. Making them impossible to see. I will post a screenshot. If you could change those parts to work like the parts that don't have these issues it would make things a lot easier. As it mostly looks ok, it would probably be some minor tweqking on your end and then a Mac user to test it. I'm willing to volunteer. See the screenshot and description I'll post later for details I'm not behind my computer right now.
3 There are some minor things, like if it could be downloaded and linked from the same places as the Windows version.
