  1. Yeah I wasn't counting the end boost proc mostly because I haven't used it ever so I don't know exactly how useful it will be, though I know it's got the same chance and percentage as the performance shifter proc.
  2. I am looking at the slotting you suggested and while I do get a benefit in terms of HP and N/E defense, the functionality of the heal is greatly reduced. It ends up costing 150% more which isn't so nice on a build that will be tight on endurance as is and the heal value per mob goes from a little less than half my health to less than a third. So I think I will keep the current slotting at least until I get my incarnate powers, then I think I may switch to the slotting you suggested.
  3. So I've been wanting to roll a DA brute for a while and StJ fits my loose concept best. And after checking out Dechs stuff with his Claws/DA I couldn't resist any longer, so I decided I'd pop into mids and see what I could churn out in terms of a build. I ended up coming up with a few different builds. I'm posting the one I think I will probably go with here, in hopes that you can look over it and point out any glaring atrocities or small tweaks it could use changed. Also it basically has a free power available, Soul Transfer. I don't know, I've just never really felt like I needed a self rez for regular play, but I couldn't think of anything better. Also I'd like to note that I am still on the fence about my incarnate abilities, specifically my destiny and alpha slots. I am leaning towards Agility Core Alpha with Ageless Core Destiny, but also considering Cardiac Core Alpha with either Barrier Core or Ageless Core Destiny. In the actual build and datachunk I have the Agility Core Alpha active.

    NOTES:
    This build resembles what Dechs came up with for his Claws/Dark (of course he was cool and did it without the alpha). My goal was to to get as close to 32.5% Defense to S/L/N/E as I could while getting closer to permahasten. The main difference between this build and Dechs' is this build sacrifices some HP and a chunk of regen for recharge for about 32.5% more global recharge. I ended up with 33.6% to S/L/Melee and 33% to N/E, 7 seconds off permahasten, and 8.75s recharge on my heal. And it doesn't look to be terribly expensive either, which is nice. Also the one purple set can be switched out with Posi's, I tossed it in there because I happen to have that set waiting in storage.

    So yeah, any and all feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks, while I try to make them as good as I can considering I only use MSPaint and my mouse, I put a time a loose time limit on myself because I think part of the charm is in the lack of quality. And for the phrases I just make something up that fits the idea I have of the character, I don't actually do any research beyond the information that's given to me.

  9. Alright so first off I am super sorry to leave you guys hanging, but I had some stuff going on and this just slipped off the priority list. But the good news is I am back on CoH and I have lots of free time for a couple of months, and so I decided I'd do some more drawings. I am a bit out of practice, and though my technique is practiced and precise, I managed to crank out the last two commissions I never finished (I actually lost the original ones to a dead computer :'( ) as well as one of my own characters, which I used to fix some technical issues (really visible ones) and practice my technique.

    So submit more pictures of your characters, Especially ones with the steam punk mustache, I love it the most. I don't have any rules, but if want any specifics like pose please note them and I will do my best to accommodate. If you don't suggest a pose, I will try and think of one, and if I can't it'll likely end up being whatever the pose in the picture is, or just some casual pose. Also, I'll check this periodically during the day, but most likely I will be doing the drawings late at night when I should be sleeping, so check back the next day for your drawing, I'll do my best to get at least three to four done an evening, depending on my caffeine levels.

    Tray Management

    I rarely have this issue, I keep my toggles and ancillary powers in 1-2 "3x4" trays next to the main three, with my attack chain in the first few slots of tray 1, clicky powers with longer recharges like self heals (usually the first slot), BU, Rage, Dom, etc etc in tray two, and the top tray with movement powers, teleporters and the like.
  11. I don't have a build on this comp, but I really dig my SS/Elec/Soul brute, my attack chain is Footstomp, Dark Oblit, Gloom, KoB, repeat, with three procs in the aura I melt through mobs and have no trouble running any content, especially on 8man teams.

    Also I will second Plant/Fire/Fire or Ice doms, as well as Plant/Psi, of all my characters my Plant/Psi and SS/Elec are my most fun to play while still being high damage/survivability toons.

My main is a SS/Elec brute that I love to play because he is a lot of fun, I can easily farm +4 rikti and other mobs, and I can bring him on any TF, Trial, or Raid and can tank and/or do lots of DPS. But there will still be times when you will feel squishy though, and after a few years and despite doing really well with all the new content I find myself looking for a more survivable brute with similar damage output, though I have a feeling whatever I make wont be as fun as my SS/Elec.

    I dropped the regenerative tissue proc since it only made a 3 hp difference, and I am unsure as to whether or not I want to move the FFB proc in Frag Grenade over to my bots for the defense proc to give them more survivability as they're rather squishy as is.

    With these I am finally all caught up with the requests:

    Here's TANKHANDS sitting on some sort of green thing.



    Next we have Aoide:




    Then Amerikatt, which took me the longest because I am especially bad at drawing animals, and it took me forever just doodling in paint to figure out how to do the head and face so it didn't look evil. Also the only picture so far where I didn't have to go back to enclose and redo areas after I used the fill in tool.




    And last but not least, Mad Mallard. I know I said I'd put you in a frozen pond or something, but I worked all night and as you can tell by my captions, I am tired. Besides, an army of ducks is better.




    I need pancakes.
