Yeah, but you can't really blame Cryptic for a player's lack of creativity.
[/ QUOTE ]
The American court system proves otherwise. Many users have sued manufacturers/providers for reasons arguably out of their control. And have won.
[/ QUOTE ]
This from the same court system that ruled in favor of that lady for spilling hot McD's coffee on her own lap
(looks around for the rolled-eyes emoticon)
The American court system is the perfect measuring stick for the LCD (Lowest Common Denominator).
But I digress. Pets! More discussion!

So... you want itty bitty lawyers following you around?
Sounds nuts but hey, whatever floats yer boat.
[/ QUOTE ]
Insurance company propaganda. McDonalds lost the case because the plaintiff showed that this sort of thing had happened hundreds of times before, and McDonalds had made a conscious decision to continue handing out scalding hot coffee. The amount was probably larger than reasonable, but the story was not so simple. It rarely is.
However, the idea of having pet lawyers is really Evil! Think of the emote and petsay possibilities. Perfect for CoV. -
Hummph! Tabula Rasa doesn't deserve you, Cuppa.....
Good luck in the saddle with that herd of cats..... -

Woo hoo, now I can buy a teleporter AND a toilet!

And your team will no longer have to avoid 'that corner' in the base..... -

My Kin/ElB Defender went the CJ, SJ, Acro line instead of the Inertial Reduction. Short Circuit, Transfusion and Transferance all need my toon to be in Melee Range, and it (Vectra Bolt is a Robot) can't do anything if it is getting off the floor all the time.
BTW, the other night while I had Wind Razor out to play I saw not one but TWO Kinetic Defenders WITHOUT Speed Boost. I almost smashed my keyboard with my head when I noticed that there were Kinetics around and no IDs or SBs being given out...... what a waste.
[/ QUOTE ]
You had better like constantly spamming speed boost, 'cause you will spend a lot of time doing it. On an 8 man team, it will take up a considerable amount of your time, and you will be constantly reminded of this.....
While some have no problem with the playstyle, I pretty much quit playing my kinetics guy because it got to be 'no fun'. So I recently respecced and just dropped speed boost, and have been much happier since. As a nod to others' expectations though, I make it pretty clear I am a non SB Kineticist. -
Wow. Wonderful practical pyschology. Great read, 5 stars.
Can I come join your team? :-} -

Gilgamesh is on TR? Wow, I was interested before. Now I'm definently going to be paying close attention!

Tabula Rasa suffers from the same thing that all Richard Garriot helmed projects do: inability to get things out on any sort of schedule. Hopefully they are bringing in some CoX folks to get things moving at faster pace, and get the dang thing out. It might end up being a blast....
I wish the 'City' vets best of luck there. -
I would like to add that some power sets are not condusive to certain playstyles. Illusion/Storm really requires you to 'embrace the chaos'. If you or your regular teaming crew don't like that style, this set will be tough to play. The OP did put their thoughts and reasons for choice of powers and slotting which I always appreciate. IT is quite useful.
My take on the power set is very different though: I created my Ill/Storm to be a 'maximum pets' alt, and to surf the tumult.
Didn't take the party friendly group invisibility or steamy mist. I view Thunderclap and Hurricane as an either/or choice. They do not work so well together. I chose Hurricane and find that it is useful both as an offensive debuff, and as an 'eye of safety' for the fragile. Freezing Rain I consider the Best power in the storm set, and have it set to put the hammer down on high level defense. With Snowstorm, the baddies scatter r e a l l y
s l o w ....
I also have a six slotted Tornado, which I find to be very useful in any lockdown or corner situation. It is dangerous, as it will wander off and potientially drag in other mobs. But a boss locked in a corner by Hurricane, with a Tornado on him will resemble a demented superball.
I have to repeat though: If you don't want to be in chaos, don't pick Illusion/Storm. Matching your personal style to your Super will make for a much happier camper.... -

Will Snowbeast also be fixed?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes. This is given to players who got the Toy Collector badge in December.
[/ QUOTE ]
IN the past, special events have ended at the server maintenance period right after the last day. Now I had one alt for whom 'Toy Collector' was very appropriate. I planned a last night push to get my last 30 or so presents.... And at midnight, they stopped spawning. IF I had known, I would have started earlier. Little changes like this can be irritating, and I am not even a hardcore badge chaser. -

Not a huge PvPer here, but reading this thread certainly doesn't make me want to go visit these zones. Though the sightseer in me does want to visit and check things out. Maybe after I level up my stalker.....
Lots of interesting theoretical and experiantial arguments here. But game statistics should tell the story: IF an unusual percentage of CoVers in the PvP zones are stalkers, then there is probably something wrong. They are either too effective, or there are not enough useful powers to counteract them. The exact percentage is a decision, but this seems to mirror previous Cryptic behavior. AT sets that were incredibly popular were hit, and those that were taken by only the few concept die hards were buffed.
IF, over time the stalkers really constitute an unusual percentage of the PvP zone classes, something will be done about it.
[/ QUOTE ]
See Ice tanks, FF defenders, TA plenty of examples where being unpopular yet still get nerfed or not buffed at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
Global draw down on defense obviously hurt the defense sets. They weren't aimed at the particular groups. Not like the Inv or Regen changes. And certain sets have been boosted to actual playablility, ie Dark. -

I must report that in the past my energy defender would fire off an Aim or BU and then fire off a snipe --- and miss. Enough for it to be noticeable. He should've missed once in 20 against most things he was fighting. It certainly did not feel like that.

Personally, I found myself quite disapointed in the Pen and Paper CoH RPG.
Yes, the data is all there, and it presents itself very accurately.
What bothered me most was that the EDEN Studio's Game Master who ran my session had NEVER played the online game... thus the game became boring for all of the players involved (all who which HAD played the online MMO).
The session was slow, incredibly slow... it took the entire 4 hour session to complete two battle's and some RP'ing. This might have been due to the GM having no experience, but overall I think it was because the system was too slow to mimic the fast paced online play of the MMO.
For novelties sake the game will be a great collection of lore and statistics, but IMO the pen and paper game is too slow to offer me the experience I want.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think any pen and paper game will be too slow for what you want. Different mediums. -

I personally think this continental segregation thing is a Crey plot. Business nastiness trumping the general well being. I worry about losing my new European friends and allies.
But I do have a question -- Can North Americanos play on the Euro Servers? -
When the servers went down for maintenance, I crashed out, and lost the three rocks I had carefully gathered. Spent the evening [censored] (in character) about my 'stolen rocks'. Much to the amusement of the local 'Trick or Treat' gang.
Great Job!
