Exactly Booster - Farming Portals for XP, Farming Wolves for XP, Farming Winterlords for XP, Farming Hami for Enhancements - all fit States' definition of "unfun". There has to/should be a change forthcoming.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except fighting Hami is VERY fun. Much more fun than the 638th "kill all in warehouse" mission. Feels like something epic is going on. I need to hurry up and get these two levels so I can join the raiding without the max debt scare.
[/ QUOTE ]
Heck - knocking off Hami for the first time should be great fun. And there are many that would say that farming wolves is a blast too, and that the winterlords ended too soo. Fun is subjective. However, when the reason for arresting Hami changes from "for the thrill of it" to "Hami-O's 4 teh winZorZ" it falls into States' definition of an "unfun" activity.
[/ QUOTE ]
Like I said the same thing can be said for the missions. After awhile, you just get tired of saving [insert random NPC] that the [insert villain group] decided to kidnap and kill but never get around to it before you get there to save them.
[/ QUOTE ]
But the difference is, you don't get Uber Loot by doing missions. The only way to get it is by raiding Hami. There is no other option. You can't just say, "I'm tired of raiding Hami. I'm gonna go do missions for my Hami-O's."

Sarcasm, my friend. He was being sarcastic.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thank you, I know that already. Hence, the opposite powers remark, with which I was replying with my own sarcasm.
BTW, Anti-Matter seems to be a rad def, which is the most useful defender set, so the opposite would probably be the least useful, storm def.
[/ QUOTE ]
That was quite the loaded statement there, my friend.

Just give me an easy option to weed out Hami users from my potential PvP partners and I'll be happy.
If you're really feeling nice, maybe an option so we can temporarily replace our Hami's with SOs so we don't have to segregate so much.
-Jag
But seriously - #!@$ Loot -
Hey States! Thanks for the update! I said this in another thread, but I might as well say it here:
When you Devs get a specific list of changes you're thinking of down, *please* bring 'em by here and let us controllers read them.
A lot of us are happy with our controllers and thus we aren't as vocal on the boards. By letting us know ahead of time what you're contemplating, those of us that are currently happy will respond with our thoughts.
Because not everybody likes to go around and around in the tit for tat way that some of the big threads get to.

What I do know, however, is in the case where the mob has to use a power to blow themselves up (as opposed to Skiffs, for example, who just sort of explode), you can stop the power entirely with EF. The power that Mages/Embalmed/whatever use to blow themselves up is interruptable, and EF will continuously interrupt everything that's inside it, so they can't blow up at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
I remember hearing once that either EF or RI will also stop Vaz Morts from rezzing, and Tsoo sorcerers from teleporting. The first seems true, but the second's not. Not interruptible, I s'pose.
I've never seen a full list of interruptibles it stops, though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Recall Friend is interruptable. Teleport is not. Otherwise it'd be the worst travel power EVER.

I was unhelpful.
But at least this thread was educational, I didn't realize that exploding Warhulks aren't affected by debuffs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not entirely so. I didn't know anchors interrupted explodey mobs. -
This is still the best thread out there. Can we get some more numbers from all you happy little testers?

AM only reduces the amount of time that you are held. I can still hold you. If you really want to talk team tactics: That Rad, that Kin, that Emp, that Storm - All I have to do I hold them. They can't Clear Mind themselves, so without the bubbler around, they're dead meat. It makes much more sense to have a bubbler and someone who can keep the bubbler from sleeping. An FFer with 02 Boost on isn't going to get slept, and the Storm defender doesn't have to worry about getting mezzed.
If you really want to talk about PvP teaming, an FFer is the best you can have: Even if your FFer dies, his two bubbles he put on you last for four minutes. He keeps your Rad and Dark defenders fighting, as they're mostly worthless (except for pets and AM) if their toggles drop.
Anyway. The whole point of my post was: FFers have three powers worth taking and slotting: Deflection, Insulation, and Dispersion. Dispersion bubble does something that no other power does in the game, and should be mentioned.
-Jaguar
And some of us *coughControllerscough* have the ability to close the sleep hole in Dispersion bubble. You can't mez my ill/ff. -
Good read. I'd say that your warning on Energy Blast is a little severe. Experienced players can use Energy to position the mobs just as well as any storm defender.
My big gripe: Force Field defenders have the ONLY form of Team Mez protection in the game. Dispersion Bubble defends against every form of mez except sleep. FFer's are invaluable to have around for Blaster/Defenders/Controllers who have no way of protecting themselves against status effects. This probably should've been mentioned in your guide

And that's why we love you!

MISSION DIFFICULTY DOES AFFECT TRIALS.
I just jumped on a Respec Trial team. Our leader is set to Invincible. There are seven of us. I'm the highest level on the team at level 28, everybody else is between 24 and 27. We get to the Sgt. Clayton door mission.
It has spawned 32's and 33's. That is +4 and +5 to the highest member of the team. We died rather quickly.
-Jaguar
Also - the mission window shows you *your* current difficulty. Not the leader's and not Hard Boiled. -
I'm skeptical of the listings for some of those Epic Armors. Some of them say "+Def" when I think they should say "+Res" and some are the other way around. But that's only from comparing the power to it's original Tanker form, so what do I know?
-Jag
I'm still glad that somebody posted this though! -
Bravo to Statesman. Occasionally you give me things that go [censored]? But today you hit a home run.
I love you man!

This should really be put in the Player Guides section so that it doesn't get erased.
Anyway, wow. I'm trying to build a Dark/Elec and I just don't have slots for anything. I'm only taking Charged Bolts and Lightning Bolts as my real attacks until 22 when I pick up Zapp, so I have them Six Slotted. However at level 41 in my build, I only have 3 slots in Darkest Night and 2 in Shadow Fall.
Can somebody give me some advice as to where my slots are misspent?
Here's my current build:

Is the Defender version of Electric Fence supposed to be Moderate damage, or should it be Minor damage like the blaster version?
-Jag -
Wow, good to know. Guess I should get around to playing with the new Katana, huh?
-Jag -
Just another reason why Positron is the worst TF in the world.
