I luv body mastery. Nothing anybody will ever say will ever make be belive tactics and/or kimset IO over foc acc. Foc acc adds to your to hit and your global acc as well as res to tohit de buffs. Play my AE arc with your scrapper and you'll wish you had it. Conserve power is the awsome. Nuff said. Laser beam eyes proced out is nasty due to its fast recharge. Nrg torret is good for runners.
Weapons mastery is cool for those annoying jumping and flying forts in RV. Trow some caltrops down then web them and beat the tar out of them. The range attack powers could be better.
Dark mastery is a good theme set but torret is counter productive for a scrapper. It makes you your own personal annoying KBer. TT would be better if it locked them down from being knocked back. Dark blast is ok. Pet gaze takes too long to recharge to be of use to anything but sappers. How often do people really fight malta?
And that leaves... Wait. We don't have anymore? We don't get a snipe and a "oh crap" def power like stalkers? No pets? Blasters get tanker tier 9s and defenders and trollers get hard hitting attacks that mez for an hour and day. Trollers even have powers from the will power set (actually, they had them first. Just go along with it, ok). Are you kidding me?
Replace torret with dark obliteration and add shadow meld, the same fire set as tankers, and work on the weapons mastery set and ill never talk about app's again. Honest. -

Never found this to be a big problem on my Spines/Regen Scrapper. Psi doesn't do any more Damage to a Regen than any other kind of attack, and things never lived long enough to be much of a threat.
[/ QUOTE ]
The -rech 2ndary effect. Not the actual psi dmg. Psi dmg is only an issue when mog is being used for an "o crap" moment. Any other time, its just like any other attack. Actually, it may less if cw and dw are 6 slotted. -

fire/shield is the way to go. Shield can be soft capped easily. Fire melee is a beast.
I have a dislike for fire armor and how weak it is is. I have a 50 fire tank and I would hate to see how squishie fire armor is for scrappers. I do really like my fire/shield scrapper. It is great.
[/ QUOTE ]
I deleted my fire/fire tank at 50. I just hated it! Re rolled it to a wp/fire. With that being said, I gave the set a 2nd chance in form of a scrapper. I love every bit of it. Until the acrobatics nerf and I started getting tossed around in katies. And diabolique was the same problem. Breath of fire and laser beam eyes came in handy. But after I respec acro out for temp protection and slotted 3 KB protection IOs in the build, no more problems. Except in pvp. Buts that's another story. What I'm saying is, I like it more on a scrapper then I did on a tank. And I'm never ever gonna delete a 50 again. -
On the prime side, the debates seem to be around breath of fire, scorch, and fire sword. Some even say GFS. For the 2ndary, burn and temp protection are debatable. At times, so is blazing aura. I say debatable and not skipable because I've seen this set combo played so many ways and just about all of them worked.
-
Why not take the set with the power called "rise of the phoenix"? And who said you can't take stamina and consume?
-
What you want is a fire/wp. Make one and let the good times roll! Or should I say burn?
-
Fire/fire scrapper, IMO, rocks for two reasons. The first one everybody knows is the dmg. The 2nd one is that its a loose build. Between the two sets, depending on your playstyle, you have about 6 skipable powers allowing you go to the pools and fill those holes. You can make a ST monster or an aoe monster. If I ever decide to make two builds on an alt, my fire/fire scrapper will be one of the first I do that with.
-
I want that last spot. I just hope they fixed the copy program.
-
*peeps head from behind wall* is it safe to come out yet?

/regen was first alt. I have done several different respecs to try different things with it. As it is now, you can survive just fine without those buffs. Just as my /fire survived with out res to slow and -rech. Just as many many many /invul survived without res to def, res to -end, and res to -rech/slow. But guess what? Fire and invul got those buffs anyway. Lets take a look at that comparison instead of /sr. Regardless of the reason they got those buffs, they got them anyway even though the set was fine without them. Granted, I've survived several run ins with positron and anti-matter with them dropping my -regen and -rech in the crapper. At the same time, Ive been dropped by an ambush in itf in less then 5 seconds so I understand what the true weakness is. With that being said, I still like the idea the OP has. Its not asking for too much. I don't like the way some of you are treating this topic. It wasn't this bad in the thread about dark armor a few weeks ago. Some of you sound like a typical /regen hater like I see running around the game trashing all that is /regen talking about its too easy to play and too powerful and admitted to jumping for joy when IH was changed. The Op didn't ask for anything off the wall and so what if its suggested already. I stand by what I say. Its true may be more of a QoL issue but so what. Its still a good idea.

"What do you mean you can buy DOs from shops" me 5 years ago, first toon at 20 and living on drops.
[/ QUOTE ]
um, I still level on drops 90% of the time. I don't buy any enhancements until 22 if I can avoid it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I do that first toon on a new server, but now I just get amother toon to leave a set of lvl 15 common IOs in the base for when I hit 12.
[/ QUOTE ]
Anyone else use an upper level alt with the rescuer badge to get lvl 11-21 Yin SOs for their new alts? -
Its so true. I read the scrapper boards almost every day. Page for page on certain topics. I go to the other boards and want to throw my blackberry into the wall after a few pages from one post. Often have questions about other ATs but I just can't bare to go threw all them threads to try to find my answer.
-
I thought that was only for stalkers. The stalker version was changed to a ST and given more dmg. I never did find out why though. The widow version is still pbaoe and I think the scrapper version is too.
-
The mid builds cut off the full names. I would go to Wentworths in the game and look up crafted enhancements. They are listed by the type of powers they are used for. Can someone post a like to paragon wiki's. IO set page? I dont know how from a mobile phone. That site should give you a better explanation.

Dang it!! I'm mad I missed that. How long did it take?

Umm you still don't get it. The idea is to not need IOs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then congradulations, Regen doesn't need IO's. Not unless your trying to do things solo which were never intended to be done solo. Pylons? Intended to be fought by a team, so of course you'll need IO'd builds to pull soloing one off. AV's/GM's? Again, intended to be fought by a team (or six) so of course you'll need to IO out your build to solo them. Soloing a TF? Once again, not intended to be done. TF's are balanced around a TEAM of the minimum required players. If your trying to solo them, of course you'll need all the IO set bonuses you can get. Fighting +5 (or higher) enemies? Wow that was so not intended. Purple Patch anyone?
In short, unless your going for the insane stuff that was never intended, you do NOT need more then SO's and what /regen already has.
[/ QUOTE ]
Huh? No set *needs* IOs.
How is a /regen being res to -regen effects gonna allow them to fight +5?
*on mothership raid*
Joe */regen scrapper: Come on, Rikti Magus! I have res to -regen now! You can't defeat me like you did all those other heroes and villains inside the bowl while they were being buffed by every buffing AT type in the game! Come fight me! [/sarcasm]
Having -regen res on */regen isn't asking for too much. Nor will it be game breaking. You still will take the hard hits. You still will watching your HP bar trying to time when to click what heal. It wasn't game breaking for invul to get res def debuff, res -end, or res to slow. One could argue that invul didn't need those buffs. FA got res to -slow. They can't slow down my healing flames anymore so time to solo AVs right? EA got a heal added to nrg absorption so EA is now the new "the uber"? [/sarcasm]
This is not an issue making an uber alt. This is pointing out a hole that shouldn't be there based on the theme of the set. And, so you say, if -regen isn't as dominant as other debuffs, then that's more of a reason it shouldn't be a problem to add res to -regen to /regen.
What puzzles me the most is why are you so against this?. Why would anyone be so against this? -

A lot of you seem to be missing the huge point, Regeneration has 0 debuff resistance to anything, it has no constant resistance or defense buffs outside of pool powers, and is reliently solely on click heals, 1 click defense, and passive regeneration.
Willpower has constant resistances, defense, regeneration, and small debuff resistances.
Super Reflexes has a huge debuff resistance to defense debuff because its main source of damage mitigation is defense.
So just like Super Reflexes, Regeneration needs debuff resistance to support its damage mitigation.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd have to say your missing the point. So far on my regen the ONLY thing I'm having trouble with is PvP against /poison masterminds and AE missions involving mobs with poison. And those problems are easy to fix. You can IO out to get decent levels of defense, you can use Lucks to get defense when it's actually needed... You have options other then complaining and asking for resistance to a debuff.
And very few sets get resistance to -recharge anyway.
[/ QUOTE ]
Umm you still don't get it. The idea is to not need IOs. Every set has powers that grant res to debuffs that would prevent them from what they do best and what they survive on. All sets except /regen. You act like the OP is asking for a 90 second MOG based on the way its set up now.(that would rock!) I have been in plenty of situations that I needed a heal and all my power were little dots. That sucks. And what is the problem with /regen being resistant to, of all things, -regen effects. Is that really an absurd idea? You really can't look at this logically and object to this. There shouldn't even be an argument about this. This makes so much sense, every post should be a quote from the Op with a reply of "this", "/signed", "agreed". Ok, time to calm down this morning and head to work. -
Agreed. A res to -regen is not asking for a lot in a */regen set. Even /wp has res to -regen in fast healing. Although res to -rech can be gotten from the winter's gift IO, that also would be a good add on to the set. Those buffs would not be game breaking so I don't see why it wouldn't be considered. So yeah. -regen res in fast healing (it would be better suited in an auto power) and -slow res in resilance sound good to me.

to the jobless which I only recently emerged from the recesses of, a word of encouragement... look into security, its one of the few industries that hasn't been hit hard by the economy.
The work is boring and sucks, but its a job and one that doesn't take too many requirements...
Btw I'm gonna log on in a little bit and start an all scrapper ITF.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's what I do. I also get to play at work at times. Shh... Don't tell anyone -
An all scrapper ITF should be interesting. I'm down with that one. Someone give me a shout about it in game. My time frame hasn't changed though
this new job schedule is gonna screw up double xp weekend too

When I first started the game, I was wholly convinced that I could run up the side of a building with super speed if I could just figure out what button to press when next to a building.
[/ QUOTE ]
In all fairness with the whole concept of superspeed being a super power, you really should be able to do that. And there should be a standing on the wall emote when in fly/hover -

There is a bug that they heal the towers before you can even hit them.

CONFIRMED
I reported this on Monday night. We had a scheduled STF event on Freedom with 3 teams running simultaneously. It ended in Epic failure!
The TF as a whole was fine, but the repairmen healed the tower every time, regardless if they died or not. It seems there was a slight AI change that makes foes use healing powers sooner and more often, and it causes them to begin healing the tower before they are even targetable, which means it still gets healed for over +3000 even if you kill them immediately.
Somebody else reported actually completing the STF later that night, but it took longer, and a couple towers were rebuilt repeatedly for the same reason, and they had to be taken down again. I guess it's still possible, but it can be a pain in the neck if you don't have a way to kill the repairmen sooner. I have not personally attempted again since that night.
And by the way, several of us did already /bug and /petition, and we got confirmation from GMs that it was an unintended bug being looked into.

Well damn. Someone better warn the saturday mostf runners.
As far as the run sunday, I say we hold off till the TF is fixed. I'm sure that one team that finished it had a tank with a healer backing him up and all kinds of debuffs and maybe some temp powers and it most likely took a real long time. Mind you, I feel in a normal situation, this would just be hard but doable. As it stands now, fighting each tower would be like fighting an AE AV with /regen or /will power. I only have a 5 hour window. -
You are supposed to take the pylon out near the mob. Lol
-
I too always thought what showed up when a def power was in effect was based on the power. Parry = deflected as in knocking the attack away with sword. Same with SD and the FF and Ice shields you get buffed with. Dodged and avoided was for def powers dealing with moving like SR, weave, combat jumping. I don't get the concept of absorbed with MOG and the archmage accolade. Or why it says deflected when using surperior invisability. I'm just glad they all stack if they are for the same type or position. Now if the typed and the posistions would stack based on the attacked, that would be great.
