    Yeah.
They released the summer event early and look at how that turned out.

Would be nice if it was a 2 week warning. Some of us dont get paid every week. But then again, with bio armor getting destroyed I dont really have anything I'm looking forward to anyway. Maybe rad armor will be cool.

This is flawed logic. You should NOT be penalized for building in any way that is not acceptable to you! A player who plays with SOs (IE: A new player, be it F2P or VIP) is just as acceptable and justified as someone who goes out of their way to entirely break the game.

The moment you say someone is 'unintelligent' or 'uninformed', is the exact moment I think the IO system needs to be obliterated. Do not bring blatant elitism into this.

I love running trials on my fire aura brute who doesnt have defenses built into him. I face plant constantly and dont carry my own weight.
(Before someone has a hissy, I'm mostly joking. this character does exist tho)

Every version of Jace costs at least 4 mana to play, and even a <$100 burn deck should kill you by turn 4. And I'd love to see a planeswalker-focused mill deck fight through a permission strategy. But that is why WotC has weakened those non-interactive deck archetypes (burn and permission) because while they're quite potent, they're just no fun to play against.

There is no form of deck in Magic that is unbeatable. That's one of the best things about the game, every strategy has a foil, and nothing is 100% effective.

That is also why City of Heroes is so much fun, because the devs don't force you to play your character in some pre-determined fashion in order to cover a specific role. The archetypes inform the player what the character is meant to do, but there is a LOT of wiggle room as far as build priorities. My plant/storm controller feels more like a DPS class than a controller a lot of times, with tons of great AoE damage and lots of fun chaos-inducing powers. However, I am still providing controls and buffs/debuffs while I'm at it, so my primary role is still fulfilled.

I would agree but when the Dev's try to add new exciting things to AT's that they couldnt do before the player base freaks out and cries against it for some odd reason. See Bio armor's -regen debuff for example.

    Correct.

What server do you play on?
If you are on the same as me I would gladly help.
  8. funding your farmer is going to take a bit of work. stay as villain alignment and run 5 tip missions every day. That will get you 1 Alignment merit every other day. Also run the SSA's once every week for an additional alignment merit. Thats 4 alignment merits in a week.

You could turn those into converters or just turn them into recipes and craft. Should prolly stick to the recipes until you understand the market a bit more.
Having said that tho, it is possible to turn those 40 converters (4 A merits) into 20 LotG where as the same (4 A merits) would get you 2 LotG recipes. Don't want to get too far into it, secrets of ebil marketers and all.

Great ideas but what about when we use sets that can soft cap defense easily.

what do you consider expensive? 100 million? 300 million? Cause purples used to go for 700+ million and pvp's used to go for 2 Bil. This game is relatively cheap now.

a bit much but like most overpowered ideas yeah give it to me.

Run through a patron arc. doesnt matter which one and once you complete the first part of it you'll unlock a respec and the ability to choose any of the patron pools.
  14. The only way I could see this happening is if they remove the ability to slot damage sets into bonfire. Which I dont think they would do.

Wrong. The very first time I ran it I was put with a team that had already done the heist portion. I was the 5th man in the gladiator match. I still got the reward table at the end.

Yeah, I got my tower at the beginning of 07. So it is pretty old. I would have to look into new cards whenever I have that much extra cash, which isnt very often. Throwing money at paragon for COH or some other trivial thing is fine and easy. But having hundreds of dollars just to blow, not so much. The thing is when I got this computer made that card and I'm sure one other were the only options available and I wasnt even considering games at the time. Probably didnt start playing this game til jan 09. Other than a couple plays back when Villains came out that my friend let me try on his account.

I dont mean to ask too many questions but any idea if this "NVIDIA - GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 Graphics Card" would
    1. Be good for the game?
    2. Be interchangeable with the one I have?

There's also this one "ATI Radeon HD 5770" which the site says will work with my tower. Mac pro 1,1.

I guess for now the plan is to save up what I can and when I have a reasonable amount start doing some research and even opening my tower up and looking inside. Actually, I have two of those video cards in it so I guess I could take one out and look the thing over. Only other problem is ever since my screen busted I've had this lame one. :/ So I'd have to get a new one of those too.

Edit: I saw the ATI Radeon listed in the ultra mode compatibility thread so I guess that would be the right choice. Thanks again for all the help from everyone. Looks like I got some upgrades to work on.

  19. Best farming build your going to find. Can clear a ticket map in under 2 minutes with assault hyrbid and rage. I'm usually clicking the exit object as my damage crash happens. Fury of the Gladiator proc makes a noticeable difference. Knock out blow should be slotted for damage, not as a filler hold spot. It's very useful when ball lightning or footstomp arent back up you can hit a boss level critter with it. PVP and purple enhancements are much cheaper than they once were and very easy to get now if you got a foothold in the game. I know when your brand new a couple million seems like a ton. Kinda miss those days when I was that ignorant. Couldnt tell you how long it takes this build to run through a cave map as I have never timed myself and when I run one I tend to not be in any kind of rush. I'll be half watching tv or responding to text messages etc. I know during a cave map I can easily hit the recharge cap. (Ageless, hasten, force feedback, Force of nature, and buff from phantom lore) Also during a ticket map can hit the damage cap with about full fury, constant red inspirations, assault, hybrid assault, etc. Also one purple away from softcap like the above build.

Thanks for the tip on game booster. I was able to up the graphics without my screen blowing up. I didnt leave it on those settings tho. I did notice when I had it analyze my system it said I had 2000mb of memory. Which I believe amounts to 2 gigs. I'm supposed to have 4. :/

I joke. I dont want everyone running around with those things. or do I?
    I'm undecided on the matter.

I like that my characters (ones that are finished builds) performance is well above the norm. But than I'm reminded of horrible BAFs. Not sure how people are still capable of doing poorly in those. Just yesterday was on one where we had 17 escapes and the AV's rezzed themselves. All the while in the last fight im waiting for a barrier to be thrown out and wasnt seeing it. Finally spoke up and said something. no answer, no barrier popped. AV's rezzed and sometime during the 2nd wave one was used. Which leads me to question where was that all along. Especially when im playing a fire aura with basically no IO's. So you know I was eating it.
