Ok, revamped build with some frankenslotting, and some sets... Mots of the sets are Kinetic Combat sets in my single target attacks.
Anything major I'm doing wrong here? I'm not sure about the price of some of the IOs, but I was trying to stay clear of the obviously expensive ones.

Ok, I'm looking to make a Stone-Stone build. He's at 29 now.
I plan to have Granite, but only use it sparingly. (i.e. when taking alphas for 8 man TFs, etc.)
I'm not looking for a super awesome build, with a ton of purples, but l'd like to be able to be the main tank for a TF, and still be smashy enough to be fun solo. (Is Defense softcap outside of granite a reasonable goal, or is that going to take billions of infamy?)
If you have any good suggestions for alternate power picks, slotting, or IO sets that would be reasonable to pickup for the set bonuses, I'd appreciate it.
I'm coming from the defender world, where generally IO set bonuses don't matter that much in terms of performance, but from what I can tell, especially for the defense softcap, the difference can be immense.

Victory isn't the highest population, but what we lack in quantity, we make up for in quality.
Plus, we have our own emote. -
To team with an Empathy Defender, Just about any damage oriented toon (Scrapper or Blaster) would work well.
I'd say scrapper first, but that's just personal preference. -
I'd go with a Scrapper / Defender duo.
Elec/Shield and Kin/Elec would make a good combo... -
It's hard to go wrong with any combination of Defenders or Corruptors.
If you want to really steamroll content, check into multiple Rad Defenders.
If you want to be undefeatable, Try some combination of FF/Sonic/Cold/Thermal in there.
But really, Any combination of defenders/Controllers is awesome. You could have 4 empaths, and everyone ends up with stacked fortitudes and Adrenaline Boost...
My suggestion: Ask the 4 people what defender set they prefer. Sure, it might not end up with the absolute best possible team, but really, any 4 defenders is teh awesome... And if they pick it out, they will be more likely to stick with it. -
I know there are some guides back around i5, talking about building a Kin/elec into a Sapper type character. (Before ED)
Is this still a viable strategy?
I'm assuming you'd have to start with Short circuit slotted for 3 end mod, 1 acc and 2 recharge, and transferrence for targetting the big guys for end drain...
Anyone have any suggestions/tips/etc? -
Maybe they still have debug code running or something, cause it's slow as dirt.
-
Now, if only I could stay logged in for more than 30 seconds...
-
You can get to char acreator, but can't login with a character.
-
Something short, because of the Boob Slider.

Hmm. Maybe after 11 am Central. -
Generally, for most of my toons, I have to have some sort of concept... And I have put a lot of thought into their Costumes, color schemes, etc. For example, Ion Maiden has a great costume, which matches the Blue from FF Bubbles and the Green from Rad Blasts almost perfectly.
So now that I have all the costumes matching (or at least complementing) the colors, what am I supposed to do?
Ooh. I know! Time for more Alts! (Maybe I can start collecting all the Corruptors now!) -
Letting people exemp down and still get XP is the best change I've seen in a LONG time.
So, can weget that change in this weekend? -
-
Just because it is POSSIBLE to solo, doesn't mean it makes any sense to, or that it is balanced with other archetypes.
-
How close does an IA tank get to softcap with jsut the normal toggles, etc. and no set bonuses?
-
I'm working on an elec/SD brute now, and I was wondering what amount of defense someone could get with just the standard slotting, without bonuses from IO sets, etc. Is it even remotely close to softcap, or is this something I'm going to end up having to spend hundreds of millions on IO sets?
-
I like the current LFT flag that players can set, but I'd like to see one that is configurable by the team leader, indicating that the team is are looking for members.
Additional info that would be helpful would be team level range, and # of people on team, plus a comment field for the leader, to specify what they are doing, archetypes desired, etc. -

CL, thanks for the tip, that will help a lot!
-
THis isn't an every-time issue, but It happens to me at least once per game session, or maybe 1 out of every 10-20 enhancements I sell.
As soon as I drag the enh. from my tray into the WW interface, the game crashes.
Anyone else experiencing this? -
Why not sonic primary? The -resist stacks, and the shields/toggles are relatively non-clicky.
