Quote:Just going around and checking places out is one of my favourite pastimes. I found a lovely picnic spot in Talos while I was just putzing around one day.Ya know Fulmens I can remember back before we had it so easy with powers like the Mission Teleporter when we actually had to look for mission entrances and while at first it was frustrating before I realized that I was learning to explore all the zones and see things I would never have known the devs put in the game.
If everything was as simple as "go from point a to point b" I would never have found things like the secret room in Faultline, or the Devs Room in Grandville. Or how about getting to go underwater in that pool in Grandville? Or the secret way to get to the Matrix room in the Arena? And was it in Cap Au Diablo where one could find the floating signs that could only be seen from above?
How many other hidden gems have we forgotten that we never would have seen if we were like the OP and only went from mission door to mission door?
I love the hidden mission door challenges. -
Quote:The only issue I have with this is not the people would gravitate towards the larger SG, but the that SG's will start farming for members, as happens when a Prestige grant had been granted based on roster numbers. In order for me to support an overhaul, I'd like there to be something unique for the larger plots or bigger SGs. That might seem elitist to some, but I think it would be one more of those things that encourages people to seek out the larger SGs as someone mentioned earlier with the item buffs.
When I first started playing I was invited to an SG, can't remember the name of it or the player that invited me, but I never saw more than three players on at the times I played and they had a full roster. Not to mention the blind SG invites or tells from gargoyles perched near Ms. Liberty whenever I made a new character.
Unique items should not be rewarded because a group is better at padding their roster. Although the ability to convert surplus Prestige or the ability to donate it would be nice. -
You could also poll your own SG mates.
Most of mine would be like, "Hey, you're the one that built all this carp. If we even knew how to put a lamp on a cabinet then maybe we'd be concerned..." -
Quote:There may have been an update since then. I would check before assuming that your card is on the way out. I'd recommend running a driver cleaner, like Driver Sweeper to make sure all remnants of video drivers and the CCC are gone before installing the latest driver.Wonderful.... I've been looking at getting a new one anyway, but I can't financially swing that atm.
As far as the drivers go, I'm pretty sure I have the latest versions for my card. Updated them about a month or so ago.

I loved the imploding Funhouse, Grey.
Still have the last two sections to read though. -
One thing you must realize is that as of your posting time, it is the middle of the day in the US. Some of us are at work (yes even on a Saturday) or may be out running errands, sports events, movies, etc.
A screenshot of the the area would be helpful. You can post it on an image hosting website like Photobucket, the use their IMG tag to post the screenshot here. Our forums do not allow you to upload images directly.
Just to be clear about the "N P C" channel you are talking in, you did join the 'N P C' channel and not the NPC channel right? Though it could be the same reason as I mentioned above for the lack of responses.
If you have access to a base and they have an Empowerment Station, you can craft yourself an Invisibility buff that lasts for an hour. That will give you some safety while wondering around looking for the entrance. -
Quote:Actually, Mercedes Sheldon inside the Steel Canyon entrance of the Midnighter's Club has an arc that will grant the Ouro Portal. If you haven't run it, I highly recommend it.The various Midnighter arcs do not give you an O portal that I'm aware of. The only way to get it hero-side (aside from getting someone to drop a portal for you and snagging the exploration badge in Ouroboros) is to run either Doc Delilah's arc or Agent G's. Both are in Faultline, both deal with a time-travel device (or actually a reality warping device capable of changing the past), and both are for levels 20-24.
Jim Temblor (also in Faultline) will introduce you to Doc once you reach 21st level even if you've never done his arc or otherwise have him as a contact.
That is just for future reference since you are already 38th level so in that character's case you'll have to get someone to drop it for you. -
Quote:That spawn point should be removed completely. There shouldn't be a present there at all, seeing as how there are no drones to drag him to.Yeah the locations of the presents need to be looked at. Because one has been spawning right by Nightstar in Imperial City. The ugly thing is that this is also right next to the train station. So not only can you not use the trainer, anyone wanting to use, or comming out of the train in the zone is insta squished.
As for the Market, they should allow you to exit the building through the back doors. -
Yeah, when you start seeing stuff like this...
...expect eminent failure of your video card. I know mine died shortly after this. -
Quote:Well as far as the roster is concerned, it shouldn't be affected at all considering you can have an SG and no base at all. Coalitions shouldn't be affected either.I know it might seem like I kinda casually tossed this little grenade out there in the other thread (and thank you Azure, for giving the question it's own voice here). But I have to say, I am genuinely surprised at most of the responses.
As some have pointed out, it's a more complicated question than it first might seem.
There are a lot of considerations to "starting from scratch". It's not just a matter of dismantling a base, or getting prestige compensation.
What happens to the roster? How do you move members from one base to the other?
What if someone wants to start a new base, but use their "old" SG name?
What happens to coalitions?
What about re-instituting raids?
What happens to the Group badges?
What if someone wants to keep their old base, as some have mentioned, in a locked/museum state? Who gets access or leadership to the museum?
I personally think there are some fairly easy solutions to some of those questions, but others might indeed prove to be a little challenging.
Personally, I wouldn't mind starting over architecturally. And since my Groups are small, I don't even think I'd mind starting over with my memberships (though I'm not sure how the memberships would take it).
BUT I can see how it would be extremely difficult to manage for some of the larger Groups out there.

Those kinds of corruptions usually tell me, graphics drive malfunction or graphics card dying.

I lost a Hecatomb: Damage this morning. -
Quote:I think there's a cutoff date/time as to what emails disappear. Generally seems to be the ones done withing a certain time of the server maintenance. And I lost a Hecatomb: Damage, that I had sent yesterday for my Scrapper to get. This is cute.. bulk of my mails are still there, but i seem to have lost a Numina piece or few, along with 200mils of inf.
So yay for that.. will petition this and in the future, i got to remember to claim any/all mails as soon as i swap characters to prevent this nonsense from happening again. -
Quote:I've seen that issue as well, typically at an elevator door/lift.This bug is still on live, and I've actually taken to going old-school and dismissing at the end of every instanced mission because of it.
This doesn't appear to be the older issue of detached henchmen (which as Red points out can often be fixed by buffing a detached hench) but a newer one where the hench verbally responds to the command (i.e. mutters their given line) but fails to do anything else (like execute the actual command given).
For now, the /releasepets command will still function and you can resummon without issue. I'd love to see a decent fix for this! -
Quote:Since I started with GvE, I've always referred to the game as CoX. I've seen CoV, CHV. Now with Going Rogue...COF
Or The City of Franchise.
It looks better in text than COX and you can say it around your family!
Yes? No? Way to late to change terminology?
I'll just stick with CoX, thanks. -

So what would you say are the must-haves that you should have every character do?

If they were to do another Prestige Grant in the future, I wish that it were just a lump sum, like 5mil.
That would give plenty of us smaller 'modest means' base builders funds to play with our bases, while the larger SG's wouldn't notice because they are active enough and SG Gargoyles farming for members prior to these grants would not be so prevelant. -
I'm pretty sure that the builds on Test are the ones that get pushed to live. At least that was my understanding.
As far as your pets go, have you tried casting a single target buff like a heal, on them? That has always 're-attached' my pets to the character. -

I think that the Devs fear going in and replacing/modifying the current base editing system because it might require then to break the bases.
I've spent quite a bit of time base editing, though not to the extent of many of the Base Builders here and I'd hate to have to rebuilt what I have.
That being said, I'd be willing to start from scratch in rebuilding my base to get all the functions and items we've been requesting. I am not willing to loose any prestige though. -
