  1. Outdoor spawns, as I understand it, spawn based on the number of players in the area - regardless of what difficulty setting those players are on, and regardless of whether they're teamed or not. Which would lead to the new options not affecting it, most likely.
  2. Personally I think they should just make TFs reward merits based on number of mobs killed, via a similar system as the MA arcs award tickets at the end of each mission.

Or rather have MA have it's own box/email system for reviews attached to the global name, one that you access through the MA on any toon, where your reviews are saved for easy future reference.
Note that MA already does this - there's a feedback button on published arcs that will show you all the feedback that arc's received. Doesn't have feedback from before that feature was implemented though. (I15 I think?)

As for MA feedbacks going to email, they originally had it set up so they would, but it was changed due to emails not being global. So you'd have to log in on the character you published the arc with.

Edit: But yeah, all I want is an option to disable email and/or automatically delete everything I receive. (Preferrably with some notification to the one sending that I have it set such in the latter case, so I don't get yelled at for not responding) I mean, we have options to disable all kinds of useful things - up to and including experience, of all things. Why is being able to disable arguably the game's most useless feature such a big ask? Too hard to program or something, maybe?

*writes that down* Gotta use that sometime.

As a rule, EU RP'ers tend to disregard some of the rules and game mechanics in the name of realism, believabilty, fun and concept.
For what it's worth, I and several people I know tend to do the same.
  6. Just something I feel compelled to point out. That second M in MMO? It stands for Multiplayer. As in, with other people. If you hate playing with others so much, why are you playing an MMO? Why not play a singleplayer game where you can go be antisocial all by yourself and no one will mind?
  7. "Analysis complete", the assault bot stated after some time, it its usual monotone. "Gas contains living DNA, rapidly mutating. Base compound displays similarities to arsenic, but is heavily enhanced by aforementioned DNA. Structure of DNA suggests possible source, mutant powers. Or science duplicating such." Its task complete, it returned to its default operating mode and took up a position just behind and slightly to the left of its mistress.

Said mistress took some time to think over the bot's results, then decided. "Hey Mac, we still have any of those magnetic storage containers? Think we might want to play it safe with this stuff, it's not as pervasive as those green crystal things we picked up a while back but probably just as deadly."

Mac ran a quick check of its inventory before replying, "Current inventory contains two containers matching stated specifications. However, one is occupied. Suggest using unoccupied container to acquire gas sample, confirm?", it requested, the AI easily determining what her likely next request would be.

"Go ahead", she replied, leaving him to do it and moving over to the edge of the rooftop. Laying on the edge, she activated the zoom and IR filter functions of her HUD to scan the nearby area for anything alive or moving. Mac hadn't stated what this gas was supposed to do beyond that it was dangerous, so she wanted to find someone not protected from it as she was to find out. And possibly to offer assistance, to find out if it was resistant to any cure if not simply to save lives.
  8. Yeah, they already have the salvage drops colour-coded. Don't see why they couldn't do the same with recipes. (Though I still don't get why vanguard merits are orange, they're not rare at all!)
  9. So these would presumably be exclusive to Kheldians, right? Yay, yet more drops to reduce my chances of getting anything I can actually use on most of my characters. Also, would you also suggest a set exclusive to the villain epics, for the sake of fairness? Though I dunno what you'd make... Taunt/damage for omega bomb, maybe, though that'd be useful to tanks and brutes too. Tohit/defense/recharge for mind link, though that'd be good for anyone with vengeance and for empaths with fortitude.

    That said, cool idea.

    Plant Armor!

Looks like a good idea to me. Only problem I can see is some of the numbers might be a little high - with having the good resists, high regen and the self heal you'll run into the same issues as willpower had when it was in beta, where its numbers were a little higher than they are now and thus willpower tanks were completely invincible to anything short of several AVs at once. But yeah, that's what beta is for, to rebalance things like that.

Also, it has no powers I'd really want to skip Would be a really tight build if you paired it with a secondary where you need everything. Dual Blades with its combos perhaps.
  11. (( And why do I get the feeling this will prove successful, to provide an in character explanation for the forum merger? ))

I can't speak for the others, but every single one of my characters are a real toon somewhere, usually on Virtue, but not always.
Three of mine don't exist ingame at all. Of the rest, one is on Victory and all the others are on Virtue.

Suggestion: mark the threads somehow that people will know that participating characters should be available in game, too. Defining which server is in question would also be nice.
For the record, I'd be against this. I'm not too keen on being locked out of a thread simply because I don't have a character on the right server. Particularly now with the merged forums and thus the servers I literally can't make characters on.

(( Yeah Us US server Rpers see Open Rp and think that there no set limits on the RP. Besides the keeping it to the aproved PG13 ratings.))
(( That and we tend to keep forum RP and ingame RP more or less as seperate events in the history of the various characters. The whole concept of an RP thread for ingame events is a new one, at least for me. ))

He missed the escaping female mastermind as a result while he rummaged through a tactical pack strapped onto his arm.
Though he missed her actual exit, once he looked up he might still notice the exhaust trail she'd left behind as she rocketed away. Not that that mattered to her. He didn't appear to be following so she stopped and landed on a nearby rooftop to think. The chopper was parked halfway across the zone, cloaked on another rooftop. She'd thought it safer to come in on foot, another decision she now regretted. With this gas everywhere, the place would be swarming with heroes arriving to clean it up and keep looting at bay... was it still safe to make for her transport or would it be a better idea to head for the nearby sewer entrance?

She briefly considered the idea of going out through the tunnel to Galaxy City, but discarded that idea almost immediately. Even if it wasn't closed off in response to the emergency, she'd still get nailed by the police drones that patrolled near said tunnel. And getting out only to be thrown in the Zig didn't really appeal to her. Which left her helicopter, or the sewers. After some internal debating, she decided the chopper would be better. She didn't really want to leave it here, and the sewers was a more likely target for heroes and thugs alike trying to leave the area than some unimportant rooftop would be.

But it could wait, she decided. She wanted to get a sample of whatever this stuff was before she left, maybe she could use it for something. She wasn't in the business of using or trafficing in biological weapons (Even villains have standards) but who knows, with a little modification here and there it might turn out to be the next super fuel or some such. Unlikely, but enough to make her want to get some of it to study just in case.

Her deliberations were however interrupted by that same crisp monotone over her comm system. "Reporting. Uncontaminated atmosphere present, altitude...", Mac gave a series of altitudes, measured from ground, from sea level, even from the center of the Earth. Why it always added that last one she didn't know, but it wasn't a serious enough bug for her to go through its programming looking for it.

"Good to hear", she answered, relieved to know she could go up above the gas to refill her air if needed. "Now get back down here, I want to know everything you can tell me about this gas", she ordered.

"New orders: Return, Analyse unknown contaminant. Confirmed." High above, the flying assault bot abruptly cut its boosters and went into a complete freefall, reactivating them again only some few metres from the ground. It then simply stood there, until something happened to interrupt it or he finished finding out everything it could about the gas.

    (( So, what's he find out? ))
  15. (( Well, that's what you get for having a thread on the first page marked as an Open RP. People join in. Anyway, if this is meant to be based on ingame events, that gives rise to another question - do you mind if we take it and run with it? Will likely not end up anywhere like where it did ingame. Also I take it no one's really running it as such, then?

IC post to come later tonight. ))
  16. And don't be put off by the length of some of them, either. They're all still open to new people joining. Read just the first ten pages or so to get an idea of what the thread's about and read the last ten pages to get an idea of what's going on currently and you'll be more or less fine. If there's something more you need to know, look on that wiki I linked earlier and failing that, ask someone.
  17. (( Yay, new forums = more RP threads to obsess over!

Also, not entirely sure how much liberty I'm allowed to take here. If I overstep bounds, PM me and I'll edit.
    A few things to clarify:
-the whole zone is covered in this gas?
    -all exits are sealed?
-gas is corrosive, even to inorganic materials?
    -Also how corrosive exactly?
-Is someone running this or is it more make it up as we go along?))

What in all the nine hells was that?!

Inside the vault of the King's Row bank, a girl in a black armored powersuit looked up as the ground shook under her. The bag she'd been filling with stolen money fell forgotten to the floor as she stood up and went back out to the main room, where her Assault Bot was menacing the bank's former guards. "Mac, report", she ordered sharply, prompting the robot to turn its head around to face her.

"Multiple detonations detected, unknown source or yield. Automatic broadcast channel monitoring activated.... reporting estimated ten plus devices", Mac dutifully rattled off in a crisp robotic monotone. "Suggested course of action: temporary retreat, acquire additional information", it added helpfully, not once moving its two plasma cannons away from the terrified hostages.

"Sounds like a plan to me", the girl replied after a moment's thought, turning to the hostages. "Looks like you all get to keep your cash today, aren't you lucky", she told them, before signalling Mac to move out and following him out of the bank.

As they got to the door, though, the robot again stopped. "Warning", it said it a more urgent tone than it'd used previously. "Possible biological contaminant detected. Advise enacting precautionary measures immediately." The last part proved to be unnecessary as at the mention of contaminants the girl had flipped open a panel on the suit's right forearm and jabbed a series of buttons. From out of the suit's collar unfolded a matching helmet which quickly locked into place to form an airtight seal, followed by the suit itself emitting a soft hum as the built-in forcefield generators spun themselves up to full operating capacity and projected a near impenetreble field around her.

That done, she proceeded outside into the greenish murk that filled the air, checking its effects on the forcefield and the suit on her HUD as she went. She should be fine, she decided. From the looks of things, her air supply would give out before the forcefield and suit armor did. Meaning she had roughly three hours, tops, before she needed to be out of here. Considering, she looked up through the gas at the sky, which she couldn't even see. Which meant one of two things, either the gas was very thick or it extended very high up. One way to find out, she decided. A gesture to Mac and the big robot fired its boosters, catapulting itself into the air and accelerating upwards at a fairly respectable rate. Hopefully he'd hit clear air before he hit his altitude limit.

However, it became apparent that she wasn't alone down here. Mentally cursing her snap decision to send the robot away, she reached for the heavily modified pulse rifle slung across her back as a sizable group of Trolls became visible through the fog. They hadn't seen her yet, she thought. She'd prefer to keep it that way, they looked decidedly angrier than the average Troll. Fortunately for her, it seemed for once the heroes of the city were useful. Specifically, the one who dropped from the rooftops with sword in hand to down the whole group in mere seconds.

"Oh, this is so very not good...", the armored girl muttered to herself, deciding she didn't want to fight this hero. Too late though, he was coming down the street towards her. Thus she took the obvious course of action and fired her own rocket boots, following her assault bot into the sky. Her exhaust trail would be easy enough to follow, though. She hoped that hero didn't have flight abilities of his own.

But yeah, more seriously. Don't any of you guys hesitate to join our existing RPs if you see something you like. We're always happy to have fresh me- er, I mean new writers join the threads.

Edit: Oh, speaking of threads. If any of you do want to join them, most of our characters are on the Whitmoore wiki. Most of the useful information if you want to RP with us, both about the characters and about the threads themselves, is on there so take a look when you get time.
  20. Shut up, Khell. You're making us look bad.
  21. Nah, you've got it around the wrong way. You're sharing the boards with us. Don't worry, we're mostly friendly around here. Except when we're not, and most of those times we're probably only joking.

  24. Nice to have you, make yourselves at home. We don't bite. Honest. (Except Devious, he might. )
  25. I reported this ingame a while back. And no Eis, there are in fact no endmod DOs of any kind of the AE vendors. TOs and all kinds of SOs are there, but no DOs at all.
