New TF badge idea
I like the idea in general, since I'm in the same camp--I'm on the TF because I want to slaughter things for hours. Making it Defeat All might be a bit far (or complicated in the case of things like the Ice Mistral SF, since I'm not sure if they could make you not have to blow up every little crystal), but still, rewarding some strategy other than stealthing at max speed would be nice. Always felt a little weird to me that beating down villains instead of sneaking in and out with the bare minimum effort was basically counterproductive merit-wise.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
Personally I think they should just make TFs reward merits based on number of mobs killed, via a similar system as the MA arcs award tickets at the end of each mission.

While the idea of a new set of badges is cool I also think that having the option to make missions become "Defeat All" types might be problematic, not to mention very tedious. There are probably missions out there that would technically become broken if you forced them to be a "Defeat All".
But the idea of using Merit Awards as an enticement to keep people from rushing through things seems like a more flexible solution to the problem. Maybe TF/SFs could award a base number of merits for simple completions but then award a bonus number of merits for overall percentage of critters killed. That way people could choose to play TF/SFs either fast or slow depending on what they wanted to do.

EDIT: Acctually, a system which judges you by multiple categories would be nice. I'm reminded of another game I play often which scores your missions on three categories. Basing it on that system...
Power: Based on kill count.
Time: Obvious.
Technique: How many deaths on your team.
The off-beat space pirate...Capt. Stormrider (50+3 Elec/Storm Science Corruptor)
The mysterious Djinn...Emerald Dervish (50+1 DB/DA Magic Stalker)
The psychotic inventor...Dollmaster (50 Bot/FF Tech Mastermind)

I like the idea of adding badges or better yet variable reward bonuses for defeating more mobs in a TF, but no thanks to "defeat all". Some maps are simply huge, and problems like having an enemy being knocked back through a wall happen all too regularly.
If true scaling rewards can't be added, then maybe have a fixed challenge counter for each TF, like "defeat 1000 enemies".

Every time I play a TF I get the dreaded "let's speed through this" in team chat. It always annoys me, since I'm not just there for the merits but in fact want all the drops, xp and other rewards. Not to mention that I usually enjoy the fighting.
My suggestion is to add a new kind of challenge setting: Defeat All. It would turn all missions on a TF into a defeat-all in addition to the regular objectives. If the challenge is completed the team gets a large merit bonus (since they invested all that extra time), one badge per TF and possibly an accolade if they get all the badges.
I can't think of a good name for the badges at the moment and I don't really know what the Accolade should be - maybe a 10% merit bonus - but I would still love to see this option because I know that there would be people out there trying to get it, and then I'd be able to find more TFs that don't stealth or speed-run through everything.
In before "form your own TF teams" and "horrible idea, people will just spawn missions for the minimum number of players before entering with a full team". For the first objection I'll just say "ok, but I can't force people to stick around for my arbitrary rules" and for the second I'll add that they could make the TF missions always spawn for 8 people if this challenge is chosen, if that's going to be a problem.
Ah, first suggestion for me in the new forums. Be gentle.
