If the IDF would be such a pushover why did the Rikti curbstomp the planet? Or why is there still an ongoing battle? Just rip them up with chain guns!

Quote:Yeah, it's probably just an old Souvenir bug, is all. Task Force Souvenir awards have been inconsistent since long before release and eventually a developer made it clear that they weren't going to guarantee souvenirs anymore around the time that badges, a working system, was released.Answered for me by a leader of a team that finished it while keeping an eye on Zone Events. The Zombie Apocalypse happened right at Strike Force Complete, when the exit button popped up. It's definitely not making a call for a Zombie Apocalypse when it should be making a call to award a Souvenir, since it's not happening at the time that a Souvenir would be awarded.
Also, if you quit the team before the team leader called in to complete the mission you won't get the souvenir at all. For some reason a lot of leaders don't make the final call, these days. I believe the badge awards and the popup window mistakenly make people think everything is done and that they have to quit the task force to resume normal mission and contact behavior. -
Implementing voice chat directly into the game is usually just a huge waste of development effort so I hope they don't do it. People have their prefs, resist using in-game resources, and so it goes almost completely unused. See Planetside, Lord of the Rings, WoW, and so on.
So I hope they never give it a try!
The most any future game should do is try to implement a way to use the 3rd party voice systems without alt-tabbing or changing program focus. -

The biggest reason to stick with "reality" and "universe" (which are basically the same thing) instead of "dimension" is because a dimension is something like length, width, depth, and the other theoretical dimensions that String Theory suggests.
Unfortunately, since sci-fi uses "dimension" so often it makes discussion about String Theory and additional dimensions difficult because people get confused. Like people will suggest stuff like "Oh, well maybe since we don't see the 6th dimension that's where God lives!" because they're thinking about the wrong use of the word. -
We understand what you're saying. You don't like the idea that there could be a need to get help on your tank or that there might be content other ATs can do but yours can't. Fine.

Considering the subject matter I felt compelled to check Rule 34 and there's a surprising lack of fan art there.

Formed a team with 3 tanks, 2 controllers, 1 defender, a scrapper, and a brute.
Beat the Apex TF in less than an hour. It went pretty good considering the general lack of melee! There were some frequent deaths but no real unrecoverable setbacks. Even the guy who could never get out of the blue fire did pretty good. I was expecting a disaster but it was quite neat.
Honestly, trapdoor could very well be un-soloable but a single teammate should completely change the balance. Even people that complain about not getting teams should be able to manage a single teammate. -
Just jam a stick through her head and it'll be close enough to what she's got.

If you guys want some really fantastic Fusionette/Swan action you should track down Douglas Shuler and toss him some cash. Support the arts!
Although until I checked out his website I hadn't realized his art was used on one of the earliest overpowered Magic the Gathering cards.
Hell, he already has working Statesman and Lord Recluse assets and those two have some things they could work out between eachother. -
It looks a lot like photos of areas in the Large Hadron Collider, to me.

Wait, who is that supposed to be? Bella Goth from The Sims? She was my favorite neighbor.

Quote:You ARE being melodramatic, no one is taking this discussion super seriously. At the risk of being melodramatic: you have to be freaking kidding me. No one actually thinks these two fictional characters are in a romantic relationship. They just thought it was humorous and interesting as a "what if." The "logical fallacy" here is that people are trying to apply logic to something that is completely emotional and arbitrary.
Is Stateman interested in men? I have no idea, but there seem to be quite a few people with emotions riding on "never never never." Conflating this emotion with "logic" is the first and biggest mistake. This isn't an argument about logic at all. If someone wants to imagine the character that way it's their perogative. Claiming that it is impossible for the character to proceed that way is, in fact, the much more egregious error, given that "logic" cannot possibly apply to this situation.
You're also wrong. Matters of emotion are still matters of logic. It's bizarre that you feel otherwise. I realize that Star Trek's Vulcans suggest that logic and emotion are two sides of a coin, but they are not. There are reasons and rationalizations behind emotions, they don't just magically happen.
And yes, claiming it as impossible is an intellectual dishonest position for reasons stated earlier in the thread, because that isn't logical either. -
Quote:The burden of proof also falls onto the party that makes a claim. Without evidence for the claim that party fails the burden of proof. So if I reject the claim that Faultline and Statesman are in a relationship of some kind, it is NOT my burden to prove they aren't. It is the other party's burden to prove they are.fixed, seriously, that is how it works. assuming that lack of evidence indicates a falsehood is a example of a fairly basic logical fallacy called denying the antecedant. if x then y, not x therefore not y. this is the origin of a great deal of poorly though out positions across a number of disciplines, but it is wrong, and promoting it is to promote poorly compsed logic. http://www.fallacyfiles.org/denyante.html
You're treading on the edge of another logical fallacy (assuming you're doing more than just waving around your logical fallacy wand), which is Argument from Ignorance: a claim is true if it has not been refuted. -
I'm not entirely sure how much of an impact the lava made in my fights but the temptation of the lava is too great to not do it.

Just going to chime in with a bunch of other people to try go get something through to the devs: If that's Apex in that slide he looks terrible. Nothing is wrong with his comic book appearance. Use it.

Oi! Guvna! Give me more attention!

Seeing as I bought the Wedding Pack for $10 and ultimately I've used the emotes and costumes in that pack... 10 times, I'll probably be willing to pay $8 for this one. I dance and boombox constantly.

Quote:Your issue is more than likely not WAI. If a contact is supposed to disappear you also can't find them physically.I took Zombie Man and Aurealis' advice and went back to find Jessica physically. She did indeed go into my contact list then and I was able to start her arc.
Some feedback for the devs:
It'd be nice to have the contacts tell you they're GOING to leave in a non-roundabout way to avoid confusion like this. Dr. Arvin hints that he's going to go with his Louis, but doesn't say 'Now we have to leave before the PPD catch up with us.'
Heh, my character has all kinds of contact related problems, though, so I'm a little jaded. I got booted from the tutorial before I finished it so I didn't get any "handler" contacts that would refer me to new contacts as I needed them. I think I'm finally out of that rut now that I found a contact in Imperial City but it was pretty rough. -
Hostage speech text got broken since prior to Issue 6 (maybe even longer than that) and I've bugged every single mission that it happens in at least 2 or 3 times each. I finally stopped last year.
Whatever the problem is, it's too low priority to fix or there are larger issues involved that they can't fix easily so they don't bother.
I generally don't agree with you about a lot of your complaints or opinions, ST, but this one I'm with you.
It's only made 100 times worse when they continue to use hostage text when it's been broken for several years. And it's not a rare bug. It happens 100% of the time. -
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -uiskin 2
Found with better search terms! Not completely what I was looking for but does some of it. -
Is there a command line paramater to get a Going Rogue themed launcher or was there one included on the DVDs?
Share plx, if it exists!
