It's a slightly cloudy day here in Paragon City, Rhode Island, and it is freezing. Temperatures are cold, and that gusty wind is going to make them feel colder. We are looking at a high of -4C today, and with that wind, wrap up warm, or we'll be looking at frostbite and fingers falling off. Thankfully, the wind will drop a little tonight, so that low of -9C probably won't feel as bad as the daytime temperature.

Tomorrow, cloudy, but a lot warmer.

Well, to be fair, I rarely do. I have to hover over them to see it, it's usually in a tiny font, and hidden by some other text as well.

The character names though... they burn! They burn my eyes!

Annette has now blogged both the Christmas Tree and the Open Evening.

With the enormous readership of her blog, that possibly means two more people might know about the open evening. And one of them might bother coming.

You, Floaty are confusing what a QoL change is.

QoL changes are something relatively minor (which this probably is) which make it slightly easier for you to play the game.

This doesn't make it easier to play the game, in fact, if they do it wrong, it would become harder to play.

I'm not denying it might be nice, but given the names people come up with for characters, I can only say that I'm happy I'll never see the names they might come up with for bases.

Is complete rubbish. It's easy enough to tell, you look at veteran badges. I did so when I came back to the game. Very few people in Steel Canyon had any badges.

It would actually make life harder. You click on the base portal and then have to work out which of the three coalition members has named their base 'The Fortrees of Solitude'. (Let's face it, you would have to have exclusive names, otherwise there would be a lot of Fortresses of Solitude.)

No, not worth it.

So, basically, you want to give people the ability to enter the game and do nothing but PvP. They would never have to level a character. All the content NCNC (and Cryptic) have put into the game would be totally wasted.

And then you take away their ability to use IO sets, putting them at a tactical disadvantage against existing players, who have had to create PvP characters from scratch, and who can now have an exen easier time of it, due to dual builds.

That about cover it?

I am now terribly dissapointed with I13. My stories got no LeighB love. I am going to sulk.

I suspect NCW agrees with you, LN. It's certainly looking like they might be aiming that way. It was (admittedly largely American) player pressure that stopped them doing it before now really.

Merits I'm kind of dissapointed in. I have to force myself into thinking of them as a nice, free, shiny once in a while because I'm not going to put effort into farming them. I spent pretty much all of yesterday finishing (note, I'd already started it) one of Crimson's arcs (World Wide Red) to receive 15 Merits. That Numina I want is going to be a long time coming. (OTOH, one random drop this weekend got my 35mil Inf from the CH in 10 seconds.)

Perhaps the most useless thing I can think of is the CH/BM Teleport power from the Day Jobs. About 18 hours of log out got me 5 minutes of this, which wasn't enough to get through one mission (a Borea at that). I think some of those Day Job 'powers' need a rethink.

Overall though, I rather like I13. However, I don't PvP. Must get a rematch with Cindersnap in the Areana though. With the new movement supression, I may have a chance of getting him.
