Because the communication and transparency is so different than every other power set they have released via the market?

    Wait, it's not.

I have an issue with Staff Fighting, but that's because the powers team is married to the idea that stalkers MUST all have the same four powers, when I'd be fine without build up.
  2. Since when is player questions a "rarely used forum"?

Oh and recoding Ouro would be a nightmare. They have said it also more then once on Ustream that it is a dirty hack+changing alinements is a dirty hack too.

Oh that would be kind of fun if they put the door somewhere as a easter egg.
They put it in Ouro because you are time traveling backwards, essentially, to a time before those two zones were destroyed.
  4. As far as the market and such goes - the market server for each set of servers (Live, Test, and Beta) are all separate. And Test and Beta are hooked up to "dummy cards" and will not actually charge you anything. So go ahead and buy the points you need.

I can only think of one, rather specific, example, where it's tech. And maybe one implied one in the Mutineer's Moon novel.

My guess as to why they didn't simply do Galaxy City like they did Dark Astoria is the old tutorial, which still has characters in it.

You need to loosen up before you just charge in fists a blaze looking to fight.

FYI, my use of tighten up in the context of the discussion was about the catalysts. Scroll up.
The context Zombie man, and I, read from your post is you were calling the beta process/leak sloppy. After all, that's the main topic of this thread, the ATO leak, and the main point of the post you quoted.

It also depends on your power set. For example: Taunt is available for the tanker power set Axe mastery at level 10 but for Ice melee it's available at level 4.

Is it possible you had the wrong build/power sets loaded in Mids?
Nope, it's just an ooooold character, Xandra (sp?) It is one of the few times they changed power orders once something made it live; to alleviate soloing/damage issues, the Tanker Tier4 four power (formerly Taunt) was swapped with an attack to help with damage chains.

I really hope they don't limit us by the selected origin. Like was already said, lots of characters cross over in origin. Hell, my AR/Dev Blaster I created as "natural", because I didn't consider any of the tech to anything special (if you run around with a sword, does that make you tech? :P).
My "tech masquerading as magic" hero would be very upset as well.
  10. If you can get it to read a log file, you could simply have it read coh's log file. I believe that is what HeroStats originally did. The log records ALL chat sent to you, including system messages like "PowerName is Recharged"
  11. I seem to recall something like hitting +\- on the keypad while hovering over an enhancement to boost it.

And boosters work only on IOs - Attuned enhancements cannot be boosted.

  13. The order they came out is Baf and lambda, Keyes, Underground, TPN and MoM, and then DD. that's how the story goes, and that's roughly how easy they are as well.

It's good. And if you notice, it's free. And the world it's in requires a demon if you want to play poker with a couple friends. (Second book).

Not free, there's also this schmuck with root access to the universe.

Just thought it was interesting, personally.
So... you're surprised that chose to NOT create a whole new zone that would not be used for missions, etc. and instead renamed the old map, thus accomplishing their goal of a place for the plaques and badges to be in a fraction of the time?

Because I have no life and spend my time in the USERCP changing my avatar.

Actually, in my case, I've some web space set up to respond for a picture with a random pic.

  21. You are right, you don't see it here. But it's a bigger risk when they are all open, more places for them to put it in. (Also helps contain banned people from going crazy) You are right we can self-police, but it's an official forum - they are not going to rely on customers to do it. And they don't want customers to have to do it.

The reason you do need to work with the settings or code or hardware is because "the computer doesn't work perfectly".

So, anybody who says "Windows 7 is better than Windows 8 because I can get into the settings to change things easier" is ignorantly forgetting that they "NEED to get into the settings because it doesn't work right".
Until a computer can read my mind (and I TRUST it :P) settings will always be needed as peoples' needs of a computer can change. One moment you use the 2nd monitor as an expanded desktop, the next to mirror for someone else to see.

Supporting a touch interface isn't bad. But the issue we have with Windows 8 is that it is (from what we've seen) MANDATING the touch-style interface.

And yes that's fine for a tablet (sometimes) but Microsoft is trying to make it "One OS/UI Fits All" which is an attempt at fail.

As far as customization of keyboards things like the logitech G series offer macro keys which can change on the fly based on your computer. Other companies offer similar AND divergent options. They even have "holographic" keyboards now.

And every System Admin type I've seen with a tablet USUALLY has a keyboard for it somewhere near by (if the keyboard isn't the case itself) when using it for serious/hard work..

yes, cleaning the monitor every time I want to watch a movie sans fingerprints sounds so enticing!

    Edit:
In fact, imagine an FPS game with touch interface and a little analog stick and throttle for your other hand. You could control your character with your one had ont he stick and the throttle controlling movement and turning speed while your other hand just taps the screen to fire at a target at that part of the screen.
That would definitely ruin the dominance of the mouse and keyboard in those games.
I can move my mouse about a 2 centimeters (depending on settings) and move practically the entire width of my screen. Or just two centimeters.

A touch interface for FPS would require moving your hand TWO FEET or so to do the same. Or having me hope I didn't bump the screen after moving one centimeter making me waste that rocket. Or hope that when I touched the guy (Officer: Can you use this doll to show us where?) the monitor, computer, and I agree where my big finger hit.

Or are you saying I should be forced to by a bigger screen just so I can have the same accuracy as a person with a smaller hand?

Your desk is only empty when you're not using it.

If you are using your computer then you will inevitably want programs running which will most likely be the ones you want right up front on the screen as an icon you can quickly tap.
If you are not using your computer then don't have any need to look at a background picture.

Hell, my desk in real life is rarely empty. I keep my most used things on top of it. All that stuff cover up most of the "desktop". It actually reminds me a lot of the screenshots of the first screen for Windows 8. All my most used things are sitting in their proper place(including my mouse and keyboard) waiting to be used.
The only difference is that windows 8 will clear everything else off the screen in a flash when you select the one thing you want to use. That takes a bit longer with an actual desktop.
Sounds like what you really want is... Alt Tab. lets you quickly switch between programs. So you can leave them full screen. And have everything else quickly out of the way.
