Quote:I don't feel it's not speculation about the speculation, I recall various people quite blatantly citing those as the source. Afterwords, when they brought it back with the anniversary gladiator, they were then going and said someone in the legal staff must of realized NCSoft misunderstood the law, etc.I toyed with adding something like that but it's basically speculating about the speculation which is outside the scope of the wiki. I'd actually prefer the remove the paragraph entirely since it serves no real purpose except to start threads like this one but in general I prefer to avoid major changes to the content of historical pages.

Quote:Or if the boss has to-hit debuffs, you will want more.http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Attack_Mechanics
Your base to hit chance against +2/+3/+4 NPCs is 56%/48%/39% so to simply it greatly you'll want Acc * (ToHit + Base Chance) to be 95% or greater. If the boss in question has defense buffs or you're using defense debuffs you'll need more or less ToHit/Accuracy but that's dependent on the boss in question.
Note, the Kismet global (Calls itself +Accuracy) is a +Tohit, so that helps a bunch too. -
Quote:You might want to add the speculation came from misunderstanding the anti-nazi-propaganda laws in Germany (and the rest of Europe?) (which basically forbid portraying the Nazi part/ideology in a positive light, which this game doesn't do, as I recall.)Well believe it or not the wiki is primarily edited by human beings, and that quote was reporting a prevalent rumor rather than any official statement by NC Soft. In fact you should note that it includes the fact that the developers denied that being the case at the time.
I'll clean up the wording on the wiki to make this clearer. -
The hall goes underground. Surprised? Don't be, City Hall has been bombed before.

Quote:Six, not seven. The seventh is Dull pain, which is +MaxHP/+HP, with some toxic resist thrown in (done to all Dull Pains and clones, when the Toxic damage type - note there is still no toxic attack type - was added into the game.)That opens a whole new can of worms.
Let's look at the Invuln powers. It has TWO powers focued on Defense. Invincibility, and Tough Hide. That's it, and ONE of those can only take 3 slots without getting mauled by Diminishing returns.
The other SEVEN powers are Resistance exclusively? That strikes me as a pretty massive freaking screw up in the design department.
Yes, I'm pretty bloody agitated by this, mostly due to the fact that I have closing on 6 years worth of RP, playtime, and thought invested into something that doesn't apparently matter for anything. ...starting to wonder why I should bother playing, let alone making an alt that most likely will end up in the SAME situation somewhere down the line...
And I noticed you haven't mentioned which /invuln powers you have, mind listing them? Also/or use one of the planners here to show your /invuln build?
And as to the Tough/WEave thing - many people have said you need those on anything but a stone tank for years, it's never been true. -
Quote:I would think by now you would know that people trying to bring post counts into conversations, as if they mean anything other than the fact they influence rep (which doesn't mean anything itself), tend get looked upon as trolls trying to divert attention from themselves.Hun, you have over 27,000 posts; I have less than 1,300 (and I've been here a year longer than you have - dooooomsayer indeed).
Who are you to be calling anyone a forum troll?! ROFLMAO!!!!
Post count is irrelevant in determining if a given post is Doomsaying or Trolling.

For the most part, the names from the drop down menu are the same you need for the slash command - the ninjajump is the only exception, I think (as I recall the drop down menu shows "Ninja Leap" which is a power name). -
Quote:I think it was about the same time they made it not work on Kurse. Because letting it work on an EB/AV was too much.Yes, it did.
And it was specifically and intentionally changed to *not* work on Rikti, it was never supposed to, but the Lost and the Rikti share the same internal faction and that was the source of the original bug allowing it to work on Rikti.
Story-wise, it only makes sense for it to work on the Lost. Mechanics-wise, allowing it to work on Rikti cause huge problems for certain other missions against the Rikti. -

Also, someone mentioned Z axis controls. We do have them - defualt is X (down) and spacebar (up/Jump). As witness via the fly power.

Quote:For whips - A Mastermind set has three pets, two upgrades, one utility (Extra pet from dead pet for Nercro/, bots gets a pet heal, ninjas a placate, etc), two single target attacks and 1 AoE (Necro has a ST attack with a self-heal). Which lets them make the whip attacks just strikes. Nothing tricky like tripping.New weapons sets
5.1. Whips - BABs has gone over the reasons why Whips are a bit unwieldy to operate with within the confines of CoX, though, apparently he's gotten past them since we're getting the Hellfire Whip with Demon Summoning in Going Rogue. If you're wanting more general Whip use, then it's not altogether out of the realm of possibility for one to be developed, though I'm rather sure that Castle has some other ideas he'd like to implement first (psychic melee please?).
5.2 - Crossbows - Depending on whether you think it should be its own powerset or simply a customization option for Trick Arrow and Archery, the question boils down to, is it really necessary? Not many super heroes use crossbows in the first place (I can think of at least 3 heroes that use bow and arrow off the top of my head but none that use crossbows), and it would require a great deal of effort to come up with a completely new suite of powers (one for each power for each body type for each transport mode = ~81 animations for a single powerset (if I got the numbers right)), not to mention requiring new models for the crossbows. For a medieval inspired game, especially one that uses substantially fewer animations for each specific action, it makes a lot more sense to add crossbows than it does for a superhero game.
Crossbows - the main issue is animations, regardless if it was it's own set or an option for Archery, because you do not hold/use a Crossbow like a bow. -
But those two words - phrases - mean nothing without the context of a legal system. And Copyright and Trademark are clearly defined by the legal system this game operates under as separate, not interchangeable, terms.

Quote:Probably an artifact of making sure they don't waste the time double-bubbling the whole team.Hello, I'm currently leveling a Bots/Traps mastermind, and loving him so far, but I have one question. Why is it that only one of my 2nd tier pets are bubbling me, while the other doesn't? They double bubble the 1st tier and the 3 tier pets; even my force field generator, but not me. =(
Plus, the other bots need it more than you do.

Alternate way to look at it, you had the penalty on every attack

(Offtopic) Anyway, the funny part of the whole thing is just as we seemed to be able to convince most who asked that there was no redraw penalty added to an attack if your weapon wasn't out, they changed it so there is

Quote:Well, they can't all work that way, or anyone wanting to do an ITF and not need to be min-maxed to the gills and can't find at least a 46 to start it is screwed.Technically Statesman and Lady Grey are the only two characters that have eponymous task forces. The Moonfire TF is actually named "The Kheldian War" and the ITF is named "Time's Arrow". The STF is actually named "The Statesman Task Force". I don't believe it has any other name. Same with Lady Grey.
I hadn't realized that Katie and Khan and the LGTF and the STF were all considered "signature" task forces in the way they spawn. Now that I know, I agree we need some other name for them. Or some other mechanic. All TF's could work that way, or none of them. Having some do that and some not seems odd to me. If they are going to keep it the way it is, then I think it would be good to have some other terminology. The word "signature" really doesn't have anything to do with either the game mechanic under discussion or the TF's that use it. -
Quote:Speaking of that, I just nabbed "Ancient Death Trap" the other day.My best advice to anyone looking for a new name, go over two words. Most people try and get a short and sweet name usually two words and for the less creative those two words pretain to their primary and secondary. Awhile back I wanted to make a DM/Nin stalker and when it got time for the name I threw out the first thing that came to mind and got Hour of Darkness. I was suprised that wasn't taken and now I always try for three word names.
Go Necro/Traps. -
Quote:Welcome to the game, Radubadu

If you need any in-game help, you can contact me on my global chat handle @Golden Girl - I'm around most evenings.
Also, you can try joing the Repeat Offenders global channel for help. It's a Cross-Server SG/VG coalition. Almost always someone one. -
Quote:As a reverse of this, if you are targeting a mob you can use your heals/buffs on the mob and it auto-targets the mob's current target. So if the thing you are attacking is hitting the blaster, use a heal, and you will heal the blaster. Doesn't work if the target isn't a valid target for the power (so if nothing happens with your single-target heal... you're the target).1) About the healing mousover thing. There is no way to 'target' just by mousing over in COH. However, you could do what I do whenever I play defenders is target through people. All you have to do is click on the team mates name in the team window and you can immediately attack the target he is targeting.
But it's fairly accurate at all times. wiki.cohtitan.com is the same site. DO NOT use the wikia site, it's used to be the main one but due to issues was left (but you're not allowed to delete it...) and is full of ads and farmers trying to lure you in.Quote:A wonderful resource on how the game works is ParagonWiki. Like many wikis, it's a player maintained site, so while I find most of its main-stream information to be excellent, be aware that the information on it may be incomplete, out of date, or in error.
You weren't already? Dump slow on the uptake!
The developer intent behind the villain ATs and their analogues...
Brute - Scrapper/Off-Tank
Corruptor - Defender/Blaster
Dominator - Controller/Off-Blaster (Note: Generally a power in a pool is weaker than in a Secondary, both of which is weaker than a Primary. The Secondary for Dominators, though, is a second Primary)
Mastermind - Tank/Defender
Stalker - Blaster/Off-Scrapper -
That might be a artifact of people farming Katie though, and it would be the only non-TF commander TF that does so, outside of Statesman's TF, who is the bum on the front of the box.

Quote:They both work, so what's the bother?I'm curious, why do so many people use that link? I know the wikia one is bad, but the site is called PARAGONWIKI.
Why don't people use: http://paragonwiki.com
It just seems easier to remember since the site name and URL are the same. -
Quote:Two controllers (for redundancy) tend to take care of Ruins. 1 if you manage to proc the critical hold, but if you don't get them at the right time, they can pop their bubble for mez protection. One of the reasons it helps to hit them right after it goes down, too.Yeah, I feel like I'm adequately equipped to deal with Death Mages later in my career. Ruin Mages in the teens? Deadly.
At least (IIRC) Chimera is no longer using his Hacked Bow of Cheesiness that is autohit. -
