  1. I don't imagine such a small amount of outgoing funds will really impact your riches, but if it ever gets to be expensive enough to want help, let me know (via @RagManX1 or @RagManX2) and I'll pay into the SO fund.

I shall do this. I don't AE much, but I'll try to do a bit more and dump all my tickets into Alch Silver when I do run AE for the next few weeks.

  3. How odd someone accuses me of bringing market prices down too much. Typically, I get blamed for the inflation caused by farmers and people who play too much. As to why - because I can afford to, because the reaction of the market intrigues me, and because it is entertaining to do the opposite of what the uninformed think marketeers do.

And the best I could do if I went this route is to temporarily crash the price. When I floored the KB protection price, it was back to normal the next day, and the last few times I checked it was running higher volume and higher pricing than in the couple of weeks before I flooded that specific item. Even if I did spend a lot of time, inf, and energy in fulfilling all level 50 +rchg IO bids, the price would probably rebound within minutes, certainly within hours.

You have inspired me to handle responding to the, ummmm, less intellectually stimulating speakers in global channels in a brand new way. I thank you for this wonderful idea.

  6. Yes, on the market you can get them for 1.5-2.0B with patience. I have known people to successfully sell them for as much as 3.4B off market. While the asking price here is a bit above the normal off-market price, I have seen them go for this price within the last 4 weeks via global channels. Good luck on selling.

  7. As above - I loved having it accessible in-base, but knew that was going away from other marketeers talking about it in global shortly after news of that planned change came out. I often /ah in RWZ now and craft at all the tables around the Itrial contact there.

  8. Anyone figure out how to put high-efficiency solar panels on the blades of a wind-turbine and make them burn zombies and use the excess zombie parts to squeeze out oil to keep the wind-turbine's shaft lubricated? Do that and I'm pretty sure you'll be rich. Somehow need to come up with a use of cats, as well. Only thing I can think of is using them as weights along the blades to keep the thing in balance and rotating as smoothly as possible, but that would use many cats, and the critters would probably eat birds that flew into the blades, possibly increasing the number of birds killed by wind-turbines each year.

And don't even get me started on the robotpacolypse.

Indeed. One would have to over-supply to find out what the lowest bid is. Something I've done only on lower-valued items. But now I have a project to work towards. If I don't lose my curiosity, I may try this. Won't totally flood the market, even if I could, because I know I have some <10M bids outstanding and I assume others. But may build up my supply and drop a few score all at once just to see what happens.

  10. Put me on the "Too much outstanding to pull" list. Never even considered removing things, but even if I had considered it, there are too many bids, stored-on-market items, and inf stored as impossible bids to ever haved pulled things down in time.

Fair reasoning, I'd say. Given that input, I can see where it might make sense for the bonuses to apply to MM pets, but to the best of my knowledge, no set bonuses apply to anything or anyone but the character which has the sets slotted.

  12. 3 Alchemical Silvers, 1 Hami goo, and 6 circuit boards!
  13. I found three characters last night with over half a billion each that I haven't touched in ages. I'll get on them and send munniez your way when I get a chance today after housework is done. Count me for at least 1B, and I'll see if I can squeeze another 1-2B out of my tightfisted marketeers. Sometimes, I just can't control my own heroes.

  14. Pretty sure that is as designed. Why would it work otherwise?

  15. Best forum evAr!

Silas tries to do something for laughs, it instantly devolves into politics masquerading as other things. Epic lulz.

  16. My favorite part of this forum? I do something stupid and meaningless, others do similar but more impressive, stupid and meaningless things to participate in the craziness. This makes me smile.

  17. Can't even really say any more. Probably the highest I've ever had on hand was around 12-15B. Now, I doubt I have more than 5-6. Part of my problem is I started giving away inf and valuable IOs to people. Sent about 400M straight inf gives and another 1.2-1.5B market-value (buy-it-na0!) worth of IOs last month. I have more than I need to buy what I want for my characters. I keep making inf on the market and then sending it to others (often new players, but sometimes not). My inability to keep my inf to myself precludes me from coming anywhere close to winning epeen display competitions.

  18. Was working on unquenched flames, but I appear to have irritated people in trying to quietly do that, as outstanding bids have more than tripled since I started and supply is up less than double. My attempts to quietly interfere have made poor casual purple warshades up their bids from 50K to 300K to buy-it-na0!

Not sure what to hit next, but found about 3 billion I forgot I had while I was using some rarely used alts yesterday and today. That means I have a little extra to funzies with. Probably look for something with double-digit millions pricing and see if I can get it to single-digit millions.

Hope you aren't asking for a lot! I plan on doing this again once I rebuild stock a little. I expect interest will wane and I'll be able to fill all demand another time or two before the year is up. Already moving on to a couple of "midrange value" niches where I want to see pricing come down. Because I can.

Well you have to leave those bids up to get them most times. Anything listed for 1 insta-sells if there are any bids outstanding, you know. So the only way to get something for 1 inf is when there are items listed at that price and no outstanding bids or no outstanding bids greater than one when something gets listed at 1 inf.

  21. Shame on all of you for jumping into that niche now. I've actually watched it for a while, and there have been few bids - often single-digits. Now there are over 100. With my remaining stock, I was unable to floor the price and satisfy all demand again this morning. But I'm building up stock again so I can steal munniez from the poor again in the future. No longer will the casual player purple their warshade incarnate to the detriment of the farmer and hardcore players who can't afford SOs!

  22. So I have to come clean. I talk about how I don't think people are manipulating prices on the market and how I think most of the pricing "problems" people see are just due to the high levels of inf in the game and the ease with which inf and items can be generated now. However, tonight, while taking a break from trying to crash the price on an uncommon salvage that just has enough use to have a hardy buy-and-sell population, I decided to see what I could do to mess around with the price of knockback protection IOs - at least, at one specific level. I used a rich character so if I miscalculated I could afford my manipulation.

I logged in to one of my very-rarely used but rather loved tankers, and noticed she had a huge amount of market space dedicated to buying and selling KB protection IOs. 2 years ago, she got filthy rich off that, and I just never left the niche. So tonight, I decided to get in and just pound on level 30 Karma KB protection IOs. I had a huge inventory of these from lots of ultra-lowball bids left for super-extended time periods. So tonight, I sold off more than a quarter of her holdings.

By doing this, I managed to completely fill all outstanding bids. I even put a few extra up so I could buy them on another alt and make a pretty screenshot. All that said, I come before you all, humbly begging for mercy and forgiveness for my ebil, manipulative, hyper-somethingflation causing, dastardly marketeering ways:

(let me know if the image doesn't show up right, please)

Can you all forgive me for being so immoral and hurting so many? I kind of feel guilty for potentially hurting others.

I'm pretty sure I could get stupidly rich in good order with a system and store that started pricing items at a large chunk below average market price. I endorse this idea heartily. I may even make this my new dev request, since they still haven't put in the market caps I've spent years requesting.

  24. To make amends for my ebil ways, I purchased a lot of Unquenchable Flame salvage. I noticed that someone was buying a lot at about 15K, and lots of other people were buying at 100K. I played around with the numbers and found very few for sale between 16K and 99K. So I bought a lot of them for 17K, then relisted them for 17K. End result was nearly 400% profit margin. Every single one I sold went for 100K, except for 4 that sold for 50K. So to make things better, I'm buying a much larger number of them, and will do so over more than a 2 hour play session. Then I'll flood the market with bunches of them for 1 inf each. After doing this, I'll see how much I lost. I expect to still see a profit, but maybe I'm wrong and everyone who complains about us marketeers will get to sneer at me for how much wrongness I exhibit.

If I'm right, I may try the same thing on some orange salvage, although those prices are crashing so much that it might not be worth the effort either. Le *sigh*.

  25. Good question. I usually put my Kismet +acc in combat jumping, but clearly that's not an option for a stoner. I would probably build with tough and weave, though, and put it in weave. If you aren't needing that extra S/L resist from tough, then maneuvers would be the only sensible choice.
