It sounds like they were giving rewards when destroyed. Given that they don't fight back and there's usually no NPCs in the room with them, a Stalker/Stealther could just run through a mission to that room, kill all the doors, then abandon the mission. Take the mission again, and repeat.

As for the Invention tutorial, I suspect people were doing something similar with the mission where you get the supplies to craft an Enhancement. Take the mission, get the items, then abandon and repeat.

The big one, though, is the email change.
  2. Looks great!

Thanks to you and Jay! I can't wait to use it!

Okay, the problem is that you're looking for "glow". They don't glow.

What they do is have spots that don't darken in darkness or shadow. In a dark setting, the color of these spots shows much brighter than everything around it, making it seem like it's glowing. In good/bright light, you won't notice anything at all.

To be fair, he never promised anything. What he said was something along the lines of "that sounds like something you'd find in a Mutant booster pack". It sounded like one of his little hints that he slips us of what's coming, but in this case I guess it wasn't.

Upset though I may be, I need to be honest here. No such promises were ever made, and this could all be due to a (widespread) misunderstanding.

Lesson learned: If you think the devs are bringing you what you want, keep asking for it anyway. Don't trust "hints", only fully stated facts.

I was about to point that out, but you beat me to it. And yes, that's kind of what he was, save being a mutant and not a demon.

Having thought about it, I think I know the real reason this is bugging me so much. The Dev comment made myself and others think animal parts were coming in the Mutant pack (and yes, I do realize that was likely not intended when the comment was made). When others have asked about better animal parts, I and others have told those asking about the comment and that we just needed to wait for the mutant booster. Now that it's here and it's not what we've been saying it would be, I guess I kind of feel like I've been lying to people. Simple mistake or not, I still feel bad.

*shrug* Like I've said before, I can find a use for a couple of the bio armor parts. The wings and shoulders will go well on a toxic dragon character I have. I guess I'll buy it, and just keep supporting the animal parts idea whenever and whereever I can.

    Thanks for the feedback, guys.
  6. Thank you to those that have given an actual reply to the question. I'm hoping to be convinced to buy it, I guess.

And Bright Shadow? I put this in a seperate thread because it's not actual feedback about the contents of the booster, it's about something else. I didn't want to clutter up the feedback threads with a derail. As to why people expected animal parts? Quite a while back, when someone was asking for animal parts, one of the Devs (Posi, wasn't it?) said that that sounded like something we'd find in a Mutant Booster. Given that such comments are how the Devs usually hint at things that marketing won't let them directly tell us, everyone took that to mean that animal parts were coming in the mutant booster. Personally, I have no problem with other mutant themes, but the sudden switch is disappointing.

David Nakayama's replies have convinced me that he's open to the idea. It's the reactions of everyone else I'm worried about. If the booster does well, will someone say that it means that the animal parts expecations are unimportant and to be forgotten? Will not buying the booster make the parts more likely to happen, less likely, or not matter at all?

*shrug* Maybe I'm overreacting. That's part of the reason I'm asking for people's thoughts on this.
  7. So, I've taken time to play with the costume parts and think it over, and I think I can get a bit of use out of a few of the Bio Armor parts. That may not sound impressive, but that's about where the Cyborg stuff is for me.

The bonus power is good, and I can see myself using it most of the time, IF the repeating animation is a bug that gets fixed. Four out of the five emotes are outstanding, and I know I'll use them a lot. By and large, this booster seems to be a "Buy" for me.

    However...

What I was expecting was animal parts. What I'm still hoping for is animal parts. What I'm worried about is that buying SBV will send the message that it doesn't matter, and make it even less likely that I'll ever see what I've been waiting for.

So, honest question for the people out there: Am I being silly, or is this a legitimate concern?

This stuff doesn't so much glow as not get darker when in shadow. So, the color it is in bright light is the color it is in dark caves and at night. It doesn't actually glow like Vanguard weapons do.

Bright white will always be bright white. Neon green will always be neon green. And black will always be black.

And we've seen how far we can trust such hints on this, so I will not believe it until I see it.

    More Feedback:

Subjective: I'll throw my voice in with many of the others saying that Bio Armor needs a belt and that we need "with skin" options for this stuff. That would make it much more mix-and-match friendly. And yes, something for the monsterous legs and feet would help, too.

Bioluminescent represents the change-from-within concept of posthumanity: with these parts, your hero or villain is clearly changing at a genetic level and doing so in style--with tintable glows that really pop in dark environments.

Organic Armor represents change-from-without. With these parts, you can acheive a carapace/exoskeleton look, as if your character is growing a new skin or shell or perhaps being taken over by a symbiotic entity. And for added visual punch, you get the tintable glows here too.

As a set, the Mutant pack gives you the abilty to make new heroes or villains to fit a fairly wide range of aestheic types: alien-corrupted, hell-spawn, genetic freak--all of that's doable with this set. And with 2 tails, wings, and sword, there's a cherry on top.
Sorry, but I can't say you've hit anywhere close to that mark. That mark you've hit is an interesting one, but it's not Mutant. It still feels more science and/or demonic to me.

So... to be fair and judge it on its merits, I'll just start thinking of it as "the BioDemon Booster Pack". With that firmly in mind:

Subjective: The Bio armor tail needs a bit of something on the tip, much like the demons from Demon Summoning have. You have all these things sticking out, but the oddly tail's lacking.

The Bio armor wings... I would suggest making the membrane glow more, though I'm not sure what others will think of that.

Question: Are we to take it that there are not heads in the booster, just the two faces? Also, any chance of getting this new "glow" trick applied to the old Glowing Eyes face?

Ahh! Okay, now I get it!

It's not as cool as I'd hoped for, but I get it. And it is kinda cool. It's not glowing so much as "unshadowable". Like Morticia's eyes in the two (there was never a third) Addams Family movies.

It looks like you should just be fine though, similar settings to mine. Are you sure you didn't do something like pick a dark color for your glow maps? Choose Organic Armor face option for example and pick a bright shade or color.

If that fails, do you have the latest graphics drivers?
I think so, and I see glowing objects just fine normally.

Let me ask you this: Is it more of a glow like the Vanguard weapons, or like the Glowing Eyes face? What I see is more like the Glowing Eyes face, what I was looking for/expecting was more like the Vanguard weapons.

    Here's all of it:

    Ultra Mode Options:
    Environment Reflections: Disabled
    Water Effects: Medium Quality
    Advanced Shadow Settings: N/A
    Shadow Quality: Lowest
    Advanced Occlusion Settings: Disabled
    Ambient Occlusion: Off

    Advanced Graphics Settings:
    Suppress FX When Close: Disabled
    AGEIA(TM) PhysX(TM) support: N/A
    Particle Physics Quality: Medium
    World Texture Quality: Very High
    Character Texture Quality: Very High
    World Detail: 100%
    Character Detail: 100%
    Max Particle Count: 50000
    Vertical Sync: Enabled
    Mouse Cursors: Color
    Environment Reflections: Disabled
    Use Geometry Buffers: Enabled
    Anisotropic Filtering: 4x
    Texture Crispness: Smooth
    Shader Quality: High
    Water Effects: Medium Quality
    Depth of Field Effects: Enabled
    Bloom Effects: Regular
    Bloom Amount: 100%
    Desaturation Effects: Enabled
    Advanced Shadow Settings: N/A
    Advanced Occlusion Settings: Disabled
    Ambient Occlusion: Off

That's all of it. But I'm not the only one not seeing the glow here, there are others not seeing it either. If we have to crank up our settings to see it, then as far as many a player is concerned, you don't have glowing eyes after all, just a dark face in a hood.
  14. Given the randomness of this, perhaps we should be told what powers there are, or at least how many and if it's weighted to give us more "common" ones more often?

Slow down the animation and it will go from,

    to

"Hah! What did you think of that?"
    Agreed. Slow it down, please.

The rest of them are good, though I wonder what some of them have to do with mutations at all. Energy Morph and D-Shift seem to be more science or Portal Corp related than mutant, and Show Off is fairly non-specific. Only Growl and Rapid Boil feel like they belong in the mutant pack.

Sooooo very happy with this pack!
Did you do something to make the eyes glow? I try something like that, and I get nothing unusual/glowing at all.
  17. Objective Feedback: I see no new heads or tails. I see no glow from any of the new costume items (I am not running Ultra Mode).

Subjective Feedback: I can only hope this is an error, and much of the intended items are missing/broken. Please inform us when the rest of the booster is put onto Test, so we can give feedback on the entire thing.

If this is the entire thing, I think this may be the first booster I skip. The costume sets, as they appear to me now, don't come anywhere close to the levels of quality I had come to expect.
  18. How about a "/em liedown" emote? We see some of the Lost doing it now, why not let us use it?

"/em facepalm" is a must, we've gone too long without this one.

"/em cough". It's not as good as facepalm, but I can still see some uses for it.

"/em sitbook". Basically, sit down on a chair and read a book.

"/em holoscreen". The character creates one or more holographic control pannels/screens, and starts to interact with it. The pannel could look somewhat like the display of the police radio heroes get. The motions could be more or less the "/em touchscreen" emote.

"/em holoscreensit". Same, but sitting down as if on a chair.

"/em rose". The character pulls out a rose and offers it to someone. Bonus points if you do "/em redrose", "/em whiterose", ect.

And finally... "/em kickpuppy". The character pulls out a small dog, gives it a small toss/drop, and kicks it away. Make it comical.
  19. Not a bad idea, though it might be easier to just have an option to accept AE style tickets instead of random drops.

I'm not much for marketing and making sets, so I don't know the high end of things like you do. But from what I do know, something of an improvement would be nice.
  20. AR may have some damage/animation/End cost problems, but I think the one real buff it needs is to the snipe.

AR's snipe should be the longest ranged snipe in the game. Long enough that you have time to do other things before you come under attack for having shot someone with it.

It's a Sniper Rifle in a super hero/comic book game. Let us USE it like one, and actually hit someone at serious range. Make AR the "Sniper Set".

I like finding good stories in AE. Good rewards for them are a nice bonus, and avoid me having to decide between grinding for rewards and enjoying a story, but I do head there to find a good story arc sometimes (and grind other things in paper missions).

I don't do this as often as I thought I would, because it's a PAIN IN THE *** to find good stories in there. Far too often I've found something that sounds good, only it turns out to be total crap, or an EXP grind/farm. (Yes, some of those do have interesting but misleading descriptions.)

Some of my first stories are still up, and they're crap. I have some later stuff that's much better, but the older stuff actually has better ratings. Many arcs with good stories are rated far below simple EXP/Inf/Ticket grinds. Something needs to be done about the rating/sorting systems to make it easier to find stories that interest the player.

Until then, I'll take an occasional shot at it, but I find I actually play my own arcs more often than I try new things now. It may not hold any surprises for me, but at least I know that I won't be disappointed.

Actually, you wanted it. Most of us wanted it. We just didn't know it yet.

I'm 99% sure this is actually a byproduct of a system needed for Going Rogue. When you change sides, the game will auto-abandon all your current missions. If you come back, then you'll be able to pick up any missions that are still valid for that character.

That way, you won't find yourself locked out of important storylines, such as the Midnighter arcs. The Abandon Mission option simply gives us the chance to do it manually whenever we wish.
  23. I've been trying to think of a good way to fix this, and so far all the ideas I come up with have more problems than they fix.

I'll be very interested in hearing what the Devs have in mind to fix this.
  24. I'd say she's Sister P. They have about the same fashion sense.
